22oz bottle - you put the lime in the coconut and drink it all up! No, I'm not going to spin any Baha Men in the background right now.

This beer pours a clear, bright medium golden amber colour, with three fat fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and creamy bone white head, which leaves some ski run layout lace around the glass as it quickly sinks out of sight.

It smells of candied lime, bready and doughy caramel malt, some gentle toasted coconut sweetness, and a bit of understated earthy and leafy hops. The taste is grainy and slightly crackery pale malt, a faint biscuity caramel thing, stale lime juice, weak shredded copra, a hint of earthy yeast, and more tame weedy, leafy, and floral green hoppiness.

The carbonation is fairly laid-back in its soft and coddling frothiness, the body a so-so middleweight, and generally smooth, with a small airy creaminess arising after a spell, the one correlated to how long that it's been out of the refrigerator. It finishes off-dry, the doughy malt still mixing with the lime and coconut chaser.

Overall, I don't think that there would be much to talk about here if it weren't for the two guest adjuncts - the base blonde ale seems pretty much on par with the average for the style. Nothing that will blow up your proverbial skirt, to be sure, but easy enough to put back, and somewhat refreshing.

Single 12 ounce can, on to the beer:

Having a blonde ale in your lineup is fine, but enhancing your blonde ale there is a fine line. A half-inch of head sits on top this light orange ale. With lime and coconut added, I got a weird aroma and tasting experience. The note is citrus is spotted, there's cream, and a vague pale malt base. The taste is Deception is light overall, and dotting the landscape are spots of citrus, a kiss of coconut, and not much else. It isn't offensive, and the light/medium body is welcomed, but I was left wondering what had happened.

Pours a finger of head on a hazy straw body.
The aroma is grain, lime and coconut.
The taste is a little disjointed, starts with mild bitterness, then a cluster of coconut and malt sweetness.
The texture is crisp.
An interesting brew.

Light amber with plenty of foam in the New Belgium snifter. The sudsy mouthfeel goes well with the refreshing theme. A little citrus in the aroma.

The coconut is not very strong, but it adds a "what is that" taste that is interesting. Some malt and a little sweetness, and so drinkable. Clean and well made. It's one of the better flavored brews I"ve had, and it sets the Blonde free.

These guys would rule the world if they had a factory to put this in every Mexican restaurant and sports bar. Also the ladies seem to like it. From the 12 oz can purchased at the Black Market brewery in Temecula.

Can poured into a pint glass. Nice coconut water on the nose with hints of lime. On the pallet more of the same with a nice refreshing finish. What I like about this beer is that it is not over powering with coconut or lime only hints of the two without hiding the real blonde ale. This beers place is on a boat or beach somewhere. Nicely done!!!
