Now available in 22 oz bottles. Pours a nearly clear amber-tinted golden, which gets a little hazier as the bottle gets lower. Big slug of sediment in the bottle, but it doesn't stir up much when pouring. Pleasantly sudsy with a nice prickly mouthfeel.

Out of the bottle this actually tastes more like a Hefeweizen than the tap version. It's a nice blend of the American and German wheat styles. A modest amount of malty sweetness greets the mouth. Aftertaste has a faint bitterness and just a hint of roasted malt. Slight fruit flavor and some tartness. All very well mannered.

Quite a pleasant quaff, watery, and refreshing. I will look for this again, and I'm glad to see Black Market is getting more distribution with some different packaging.

On tap at Blue Palms Brewhouse in Los Angeles, CA.

Pours a murky light yellow with a foamy beige head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of wheat, grain, banana, yeast, and spices. Taste is much the same with a grainy aftertaste. There is a mild spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is drinkable but nothing all that exciting in my opinion.

On-tap at Pitfire Pizza. Reviewed from brief notes. Pitcher to shaker pint.

Pours a cloudy golden yellow with a light smattering of magnolia foam that recedes to nothing fairly rapidly. Delicate lacing, poor retention.

Aroma is sweet and faintly grainy with neither significant phenols or esters.

Sweet-tart on the palate - with hints of buttermilk (from the wheat) and overripe bananas. Finishes not-quite-dry and refreshing.

Soft, medium-bodied mouthfeel with sufficient carbonation.

An unremarkable example of the style, with a flavor profile that is neither especially clean or flavorful, though no significant off notes present themselves either. A far cry from the real thing, but still satisfying while sitting in the sun after a long morning of exercise.
