An underrated beer in my opinion, but I like rye beers. Got a can of this during a recent California visit. Nice rye smell and taste. It looks great too, beautiful head and lacing. I would buy this again if available in Texas!

Pours a nice and almost clear amber with a big foamy and sticky off white head. Smells of freshly cooked grain like when visiting a hard at work brewhouse, followed by a good amount of grapefruit and pine Hoppy goodness. Taste follows with an initial hint of sweet and spicy grain being overwhelmed by a flood of citrus and pine bitterness. Feel is mildly chewy, medium carbonation, and well bittered. Overall, I love this beer and think it is a good example of rye well used in an IPA. Cheers!

From Colagallo. In shaker glass, st Hotel Carmen in Granada. Geiser when opened but I transported it very badly. Smooth, resinous and with tasty tropical fruits notes. Very drinkable. Explosion of aroma when opened

Picked up a single from the Craft Beer Hop Stop on 10-1-16 for $1.83. No canning date visible.
Beer poured golden with a very nice white head.
Nose had hints of citrus.
Taste was very well balanced between the malts and citrus hops with a touch of rye and citrus pith leftover as the winning residual flavors.
Mouthfeel was light to medium bodied and fairly refreshing.
Overall i liked this beer as it paired very well with the Kung Pao pork Da Boss made for dinner.

My favourite IPA right now, some disagree but this is definitely worth the $7 a pint

2016 on tap at the brewery. Very solid beer. Great gold/amber color. Nice grapefruit hop/rye bill, and decent finish. Would come back again to have this one.

Has the appearance of rye, light brown color, full 1"+ of head on it. Aroma lacked hopping or rye.
Taste also lacked hops, even the bitterness. Rye and brown malt most pervasive in the mouthfeel. Just wasn't anything going on here that I was looking for. Expectations a little higher than average because of some of the good Black Market stuff I've had.

Even though I live in Seattle I really don't like hops to be the focus of my beer. That said, this is the best IPA I have had for my tastes. The light spiciness from the rye works well alongside the the normal hop flavors giving it some balance. There's also added complexity with a large amount of fruit and light floral-ness (although not as strongly scented as I would expect from the flavor) instead of focusing on overpowering bitterness. I'm not sure how the hops-lovers will feel about it, but I found it overall to be one of the few hops-focused beers with enough other flavor to make it interesting instead of one-sided.

L: Pours a sligtly hazy deep amber color with a nice two fingers of creamy head. Nice sticky lacing.
S: Mostly fruity aroma upfront with some hints of mango and floral notes. Very pleasant.
T: Bright citrus, zesty, grapefruit notes nicely balance out the hop bitterness. Faint pale malt sweetness.
F: Medium body.
O: Very enjoyable beer. I would definitely get this again.
