Had at Taco Mama, Tuscaloosa, on draft into hazy white plastic beer cup.

Nice head, nice retention, and nice lacing, standard sweet malt aroma, and typical Mexican lager flavor profile until a slightly funky malt finish, which may be displeasing to some.

Muchacho Mexican Lager on tap at the Brewery. It was served in a pint glass with a lime.

The beer is a light yellow with just a bit of bone white head. Nice clarity.

The nose is of cereal grains and something floral.

The taste is mild with a bit of sweetness and biscuit. Virtually no hops but not really expected.

The mouth is crisp with good carbonation.

A hot weather beer for sure. Not enough going on to be a serial repeater for me.

my first beer from these guys and its really not good. conventional wisdom would suggest a nice mexican lager would pair well with some nashville hot chicken, but that just isnt the case here. i could not have been less picky about my beer in this context, i just needed something cold and wet and crisp to wash down the oily fiery fried chicken, it could have been almost anything, even a lousy macro to be honest, and this somehow fell short. it smells and tastes a little chemical-like to me, unnatural in some unflattering way. its also sweet which doesnt work in this style, and the lager yeast tastes like something went wrong, not the crisp drying refreshing yeast i know and love so much. there is more body than their should be, it is woefully under carbonated, and it lingers as long as the heat of my chicken. i know this is not the best context in which to assess the quality of a beer, but when its this weak, its hard not to be overly critical. im sure the people at good people are just that, but in this instance their beer is anything but good. i would like to think a dirty tap line at the chicken place is to blame, as nobody should make a mexican lager that tastes like this, but i just dont know. this really pissed me off.

Mex or not, this is an enjoyable beer. Light and nicely carbonated without the Sprite feel. There was a nice grassy taste with some lemon notes. Will buy again.

I'm trying this at the brewery near the ballpark. It poured a clear golden with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had hints of grain. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink especially with lime wedge. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a sessionable beer.
