Appearance: Very dark brown, near black body with a creamyish, medium-sized, tan-hued head.
Smell: There's a scent of dark roast coffee alongside lightly ashen roasted malt, with nominal chocolate and caramel. Lightly tangy fruitiness.
Taste: A dark crooked roasted maltiness, a hint of underlying, sustained char. Dark chocolate, a light sweetness. Sharp snap of dark fruit. Very low citrus, herb hop character and bitterness. A bit more tangy fruitiness on the drying, roasty finish.
Mouthfeel: Just a half-notch above medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Decent and acceptable, though not outstanding.

Deep, dark brown with a sticky head of tan-colored foam. Layers of malt aroma quickly spill over the edge of the glass: medium roast coffee, dark chocolate, crusty rustic bread, and a hint of brown sugar. Somewhere behind this is a trace of mildly spicy Pacific Northwest hops. Medium-bodied but missing some of the silkiness of other Oatmeal Stouts, Good People's version delivers a sharp and pronounced black coffee flavor, a bit of burnt toast, and a generous level of bitterness. Roasty malt character and earthy hop character mingle on the palate and persist into the finish. A solid offering that could benefit from a touch of finesse here and there.

Look - gently poured, pours black with a thin light tan head like a latte. Looks inviting.
Smell- roasted coffee, dark malt, light chocolate. Has a very fresh smell unlike some other coffee stouts I've had that smell extract like Or of stale day old coffee.
Taste- upfront coffee notes as it should. A very nice natural coffee flavor. Bitter in the middle with the hops coming through towards the end. The bitterness falls off towards the end which I appreciate. It leaves me wanting to go back for another sip/swig! I think that is the first 5 I have rated for taste!
Feel- the mouthfeel is lighter than I expected for an oatmeal stout. Not slippery or oily. Carbonation is pronounced and keeps the beer alive and kicking throughout my tasting experience. Might be too much if drunk in the the can but I have not tried one in the can yet.
Overall- my wife brought me this back to Texas from Alabama tonight (isn't she nice!). This is a solid offering from this brewery and she brought another beer to try from Good People (IPA I believe) that I look forward to trying. I could drink several of these easily. I think I will!

L- Pours a very dark beer with a small head that hugs the sides of the wall. Looks like a chilled dark roast coffee.
S- Smooth dark roast, cream, pungent toasted aroma from the toasted hops, I mean pungent in a good way.
T- Bitterness from the hops, toasted roasted hops as well; this beer is exactly what it says it is. It tastes like a mellow dark cup of Joe.
F- A bit creamy and crisp.
O- This beer is exactly what it needs to be. A coffee stout. Great beer to have, it's actually exactly what it says it is for a change. If you have it in your area, give it a try.

Look- the best part, deep, dark, black with a bubbles steaming up the sides.
Smell- it could be me, but I smell nothing from this stout. Very weak. Very faint hints of cold brew coffee
Taste- again, the flavor profiles don't jump off the tongue, it taste like weak iced coffee
Feel- it coats the mouth oily, initially but fades almost instantly. No burn or kick in the aftertaste.
Overall- the best world that comes to mind is flimsy. It has no punch at all. I've tasted many better oatmeal, coffee stouts. Sorry, probably won't get this one again

S- Dark roasted coffee. Some chocolate.
T- Cold brewed coffee. Bitter chocolate. Some sweetness to balance it out.
M- Medium low carbonation. Some astringency from the coffee bite. Creamy.
D- A superb coffee stout from a quality southern brewery! Definitely recommend this beer if you come across it.

Smooth, Roasty, Creamy, Bitter
Here’s a beer that gets us thinking about a bit of breakfast in a can. Besides, gourmet coffee and oats is all you need, right? This ale throws down in a robust manner; it’s super roasty with a real mellow charred grain character. Seeming a bit bigger than it actually is, this Coffee Oatmeal Stout has a lush smoothness that makes it easy to knock back. Amazing beers don’t have to have high levels of alcohol, and this beer is proof of that.

Pretty solid . . . Nothing really exceptional stands out to me but there are some nice flavors going on. Mouth feel is little thin for my liking. The coffee addition has a noticeable bitterness finishing on the palate. Overall a very decent oatmeal stout.

from a 12 oz can
Excellent tan head over a nearly black and opaque body.
Has good potential but the coffee here is too much like mediocre coffee grinds and not enough like Kona or other fine coffee beans. In any case, there's a good bit of coffee in here so this won't appeal to anyone who does not like coffee.
Moderately bitter aftertaste with simulated expresso.

Growler purchased from Gus's in Auburn, AL.
Pours black with a one-finger tan head. THe head dissipates into a wispy layer on top leaving solid lacing.
Smells of smooth coffee and roasted malts. As it warms hints of dark chocolate waft out.
Tastes similar to how it smells, though not as deep. Roasted malt flavors up front are joined quickly by coffee flavors and a hint of dark chocolate. These flavors carry through to a mildly bitter ending that leaves a bit of coffee lingering on the palate.
Mouthfeel is alright. It has a good thickness although I was hoping for a bit more silkiness due to the oatmeal.
Drinkability is good. I finished the growler with the help of a few friends and could easily do the same with another.
Overall this was a very solid coffee stout and I'm intrigued by Good People's other offerings. Worth a shot.
