On tap at Max's Taphouse in Baltimore. Overtly hot and boozy. Painful to even sip on. Malt and warm orange juice. Tastes like a massive IPA, sort of Dogfish 120 but poorly done. I got a 5 ounce pour and didn't care to finish.

Hair of the Dog Binkie Claws (aka Doggie Claws) brewed at De Molen. Bottled on 05-08-2015 and served in my DT tulip. Pours a deep, translucent mahogany with a dense, half-inch, cream-colored head that eventually disperses into a frothy slick. Some delicate swaths and spots of lacing are revealed during the tasting. Nose expresses hops, caramel notes and fusel alcohols - in that order. Taste consistent with nose - hops are quite present at the forefront, as well as some piney notes, which are quickly followed by a malty/toffee backbone, a spicy quality and ethanol at the finish. There's also a trace of cardboard to the flavor profile. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with some alcohol heat and a carbonation just shy of lively. All and all, I'm not sure how this beer will improve with age; however, it could definitely use some time in the cellar in my opinion as it's a bit hot and disjointed right now.

Dark amber pour, clear and thick with very little carbonation making its way slowly through the thick liquid. Smells like a barley wine alright, with a slight resemblance to a fortified wine. Sweet caramel, maple syrup, pine, honey, strawberry jam. The taste is surprisingly bitter, but, at least for me, in this case, it's fucking awesome. Bitter pines, some grapefruit, caramel, maple syrup, brandy. Leaves a very bitter aftertaste. The mouthfeel is very soft and oily, and flat. All in all, this smells like a barley wine and tastes like a quadruple IPA, if they ever make one.
