Pours a very dark color with a slight head and lacing
Aroma has intense molasses, caramel, raisin, fig, date, plum and Oak barrel hints
The taste follows the nose with very well balanced and complex molasses, caramel, raisin, fig, plum and woody oak flavors
A medium bodied decently carbonated beer
A great and very well balanced Old Ale

On tap at the source.
Dark brown with reddish brown highlights. No head or lacing. The nose is rich, savory, smoky with piquant soy, warming bourbon, a vanilla accent, all of which work well with the leathery, smoky, tobacco rich base. The palate opens rich and full with just a perfect balance between earth, leather, tobacco and smoke before the barrel notes softly raise their head. More savory and rich, with oxidation and umami rather than coconut and vanilla, this really showcases what oxidation can do. Age has also densified this beer, with a rich, full, thick almost but not a thiccboi - this is full bodied with intent with the goal of standing up to the warmth and the barrel tannins. Unreal mouthfeel. Just bonkers.
