Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Portsmouth goblet. No sign of a date code anywhere on the bottle.

A - Poured lightly into the glass. A hazy orangey gold color. Non-existent head - essentially just a thin, thin ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass. No lacing at all.

S - Earthy hops, little bit of lemony citrus. Small amounts of bready malt. Nice, but nothing special.

T - Solid bitterness, some hop flavor - earthy and a little spicyness. Thin malt profile, just enough to balance - not enough to make an impression.

M - A little on the thin side. Carbonation is medium. Very smooth.

D - This is a great lawnmower beer. Seems like it would be a perfect session beer on a hot day. Very drinkable - I feel I could have a few of these, although I would probably opt for a different beer second time around on most nights.

Pours to a hazy yellow-orange color with a white head. The aroma is floral and a bit herbal. The flavor is light with a herbal, floral taste. It is a very balanced brew; light in both malt and hops. It is a light-bodied brew that is easy drinking. Not really what I was expecting from Hair of the Dog.

The keg of Fred had been drained, so I went with this. Bright golden, almost yellow #5 look to it. Hazy and quick fizz on top, but little carbonation acting in the depths of the beer. Armoa is pleasant and fruity, but smokey bars don't help with subtlties.

Taste is clean and mild. Mixture of lighter malts and a somewhat cidery yeast flavor predominate. Hops aren't obvious, though the beer has a very finished quality about it. Drinkability increases with each sip, though I'm ready for something else by the end.

Bottle. Pours really nicely. A nice straw yellow with a slight haze due to being unfiltered. Not a real strong aroma despite having a nice head. Smells slightly of hops. The taste is refreshing yet bites a little in the back end with some bitterness. Not bad but nothing awe inspiring.

On first pouring out this ale, I had a doubt or two about it. Color was a cloudy off-yellow, laden with stray white floaties bobbing and weaving hither and thither. The head was vast, lacey and white, but with suspicious brown flecks dotting the surface. Was something wrong? Did these odd aspects bode ill for the brew? Well, down the hatch, and we'll find out...
Aroma: sweet and sour, like any abbey tripel, earthy, spicy, with a appley character dominating any other fruit association. On palate, tasty, but mild, good, smooth texture, sweet and sour flavors intermingling with emergent citrus that rides through the rest of the drink.
Medium body, excellent mouthfeel, long, dry finish.
Hops are low to negligible in this, and malt is faintly felt. A nice easy-going, but uncompromised pale ale from an uncompromising brewery.

Pale pineapple yellow and very cloudy with sediment floating throughout.

Smells very yeasty and grainy. A slight touch of floral prefumes.

The hops are light and floral. The yeast overpowers the hops and gives it a funk. There's also some buttery malt.

Mouthfeel is thin and lightly carbonated.

Overall, a pretty average pale ale. It's easy to drink, but nothing impressive.

Poured a very, very light clear yellow with a billowing, rocky white head that slathers the glass with lace. Aromas reminded me of a subdued Allagash White. Spicy, peppery, fruity esters, some malty sweetness, and a dash of hops. After tasting this beer, I had serious doubts about classifying it as a pale ale. It's very different than other pale ales I've had and for some reason, I just didn't care for this flavor. Flavor is almost entirely dominated by a sharp, almost biting tartness that really made me pucker. Hoppy bitterness mixes with loads of fruit flavors. Finishes very dry and tart...not appealing at all. Mouthfeel was thin and watery. Drinkability suffers due to the nasty taste left in the mouth. One of the "tougher to finish" beers I've had in a long time. Very surprising and disappointing beer from the HOTD brewers.

Clear golden color until the yeast from the bottom of the bottle finds in way into the glass creating a cloudy appearance. Huge white head due to the large amount of carbonation present.
Aroma is sweet and yeasty.

Taste is sweet, but there's a bitey tartness that follows the sweetness. Yeast also noted. Definitely a different tasting beer.

Good mouthfeel.
Drinkable, but a little odd tasting.

Overall, a solid beer that's unique in flavor and aroma.

Around the logo there are are four words: "brave, lovable, vibrant, mazel." I checked on and mazel isn't a word in the English language. Conniving bastards.

Translucent, deep honey color with a tiny white head. Cloudy with chance of horrible retention.

Smells wonderful. Nectarines, sugary pale malt and mild cascade-ish citrus/grassy hops. Tastes equally as good: apricots and nectarine fruity pils malt.

Overall, Ruth is very mazel.

Third installment in my Hair of the Dog adventure. Poured a cloudy piss golden with a delicate, but resiliant white head with tons of lacing. Smell was very average, just some errant toasted malts and biscuit notes and a slight leafy hop bite. Taste was refreshing and crisp perfect for a summer day (and that is basically what it was tonight being that it was 50 degrees in New England!). Fresh and full of stoned wheat thin cracker malts and just a bit of hop and fruity finish, which morphed into a bit of a metallic taste. I think I will have to try this after a long day of work this summer. I think it will taste much better then. But as an overall beer it could use some work. Also a bit surprised that this is a listed as a pale ale.

12oz bottle into a pint glass

Pours golden and slightly cloudy, headless, but smells nice, fruity and hoppy.

Taste is malty straw and citrus hops, nice bitter finish.

Mouthfeel is a little dry and gritty, Thick malty body but quite drinkable. I would drink a few.

Comes in the usual HOTD brown short neck and label.
In appearance this a is a very hazy light orange ( like a hefe) with a smallish but persistent bubbly white head.
Again the aroma says to me "hefeweisen"..though less pronounced than the german varieties..I smell the usual esters and wheat..weird.
Again I get the typical "banana" taste of a hefe..there are some hops and some pronounced Belgian like spices.
The mouthfeel is good and satisfying..dry finish.
I liked this a lot its like a cross between a German Hefe and a belgian wit( yes they already are close)..But maybe this bottle is off?

A- Hazy straw yellow with a foamy white head that has decent retention. A good amount of fine lace.

S- Light caramel malt with some light fruit notes. Some yeast hints. Not much going on here at all.

T- Starts out with light fruit, caramel malt. Finishes with a mix of pine/floral hops, light fruit, and biscuit/bready malt. Slight Belgian yeast and spice throughout along with some nutty hints.

MF- Light body that is somewhat creamy and stings the palate just a bit from high carbonation. Surprising amount of bitterness coats the tongue.

DB- Nothing jumps out at me, the overall flavor isn't anything special. Middle of the line, not flavorful or flavorless. I would say the floral doesn't work in this style for me. Won't deter me from overly enjoying any Adam in the near future.

Golden and a bitcloudy with a thick and billowy white head.Aroma is citrusy and fruity with some sour and spice notes also. Quite an interesting aroma for sure. Mouthfeel is highly charged like a Belgian Trippel. Flavor is nice and similar to some Belgians I like, Delerium Tremens and Urthel Hibernus Quentum come to mind. Fruity and spicy with notes of pepper and melons. Overall a decent brew.

Poured cloudy amber with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate hop and sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable beer.
