I visited Hair of the Dog recently on a vacation through the Pacific Northwest.

V: Another great spot in Portland. There was plenty of bar seating, with several indoor tables and a few outdoor tables.

Ser: I had great service during my visit. I was primarily interested in several of the vintage bottles for consumption and my server happily went through each selection with me offering her opinion and preferences for each. She didn't simply recommend the most expensive bottle every time and she was spot on with her analysis regarding the bottles I purchased.

Sel: There was a large selection of both their standard line up and a few limited releases on tap along with a good size vintage bottle list for onsite consumption.

Overall, a great spot in Portland that I think is starting to be taken for granted in the beer community. If you like old ales, you have to stop in at Hair of The Dog during any Portland visit.

First stop on my Portland pub crawl. It's a great place. 12 taps; 2 ciders and 10 of their own beers. The usual suspects and a few new rotating ones. Bottles are basically various vintages of their awesome HotD beers, including the infamous Dave for an incredible $$$$$.

Nice place, basically a warehouse with garage doors, big old wooden pillars for support like an old factory, but bar and table tops are bright shiny new oak. Light beer decor on the walls, big open feel. It's a little out of the main area of Portland, industrial area but not hard to find.

Food was great, the Ruben was amazing. Food prices expected for Portland, beer prices average as well. Bartender was friendly and helpful, pretty knowledgeable. One of the few places I can remember that actually gives you a water without having to ask, and the food was very quick.

My wife and I tried a sample of all of their beer on tap. I feel that all of their beer is well balanced and not one flavor overwhelmed the beer. Overall I would say this is a place worth visiting.

This place was everything I hoped it would be. Cool atmosphere, good service and great beer. My only minor complaint would be that a couple more options on tap would have been good, but HOTD isn't known for having a huge lineup of beer. Was very happy to find a barrel aged Adam variant. A MUST visit in PDX.

Good vibe, seems like any typical Portland microbrewery. Hipster crowd, old crowd, Rough crowd and everybody else. I tried Adam and White Peach Adam. Adam is a fantastic beer, I won't go into detail. White Peach Adam is on a whole different level of awesome! It's rediculous, the two bar tenders didn't seem very friendly. They should be aittle more engaging and crack a smile every now and then. I didn't try the food, but everyone around me swore by it. I'll be back.

We were in town for the Oregon Brewer's Festival, this was a must-stop on our list of breweries to hit - and they certainly didn't disappoint. My first time having Fred, Adam, Adam of the Wood - etc. A massive selection of brews to pick from including rarities of varying vintages. The food kicks ass too. The bartender was quick and helpful. Absolute blast. Wish this NC boy lived closer.

I visited Hair of the Dog yesterday while in town for the waterfront blues festival. I like the neat wood-meets-factory space and the thick central bar. Their selection is interesting, with only 7 taps plus a guest but an excellent selection of bottles, mostly cellared versions of their own big beers. Someday I would like to return when I'm with a group so that we can split and sample some of these (they are pricy -- hard for me to justify drinking a $30 rare beer by myself).

I had the maibock, which was quite refreshing on this very hot weekend. I also had the mac 'n' cheese, which was a bit over-salted but in general very good.
