A: Light straw color leaning towards the golden side. Very refined with vast amounts of bubbles streaming to the top. Head is a full finger of light, snow white bubbles.

S: Malted barley, copper coins, yellow corn and a little bit of hop bite.

T: Lightly sweet like snow peas and creamed corn with a touch of lime. Mineral component gives it almost a sedimentary disposition. Finishes lightly malted with a subtle hop component.

M: Thin and a bit hard but actually has some viscosity to it.

D: Not a bad beer for what it is. It lacked a lot of features I find undesirable in other eastern European pilsners. I'd drink it again.

a pleasant surprise here. certainly nota geat beer, but much more drinkable than i suspected after numerous euro-lagers and pilsners the past couple of days. pours a nice golden colour with a strong head that dissolves into a lasting lace. no skunkiness here, largely thanks to the choice of a brown bottle over a green one, most likely. smells of grain and malt and the taste is just that. a bit watery but not corona-esque watery. a pleasantly smooth brew that has a bit less carbonation than a standard pilsner. again, not spectacular, but certainly drinkable.

The smell of grits and blanched spinach is strong.
In the mouth the beer growls out a sequence of fruit salad, steel and parched resin flavors. Suggestive of hay throughout.
Lots of rustic character. Definitely industrial.
Honeyed barbed wire.
Asperin dry.
This is not a pampered beer. This is one that has been working 60 hour weeks in a factory since it was 6 years old. A factory where the lunch room is a mess and the employees grumble out loud in a foreign language. Gritty, greasy, factotum lager.

12 oz bottle from Cost Plus World Market's "Beers of the World" gift pack.

Pours a light yellow typical lager- white head vansihes quickly, but a steady stream of carbonation keeps up the beat.

Aroma of malt and wheat, slightly sweet, with lemon zest. A definite hop sharpness. Flavor follows through, but initial hop flavor is very difficult- harsh, sharp, bitter, bot good. Mellows as the taste buds are beaten into submission. But still, the hop aftertaste is just not pleasant.

Mouthfeel is moderate, not thin, not rich. But with the flavor, I just could not finish this one.

I picked this up at a non-descript local liquor store that seems to specialize in a) macro swill, and b) foreign beers from distant lands not well known for their beers. In a momentary frenzy of "wow, wonder what that's like?", I plucked up a bottle of Karlovaċko.
Hmm, looks a lot like a Heineken or some other Euro schwill; clear golden color, modest clots of carbonation and a soapy white head. Not much in the way of a smell, either. A light amount of grainy malts but I had to really work to detect it. This wasn't going all that well.
The taste is where things started coming together. Not exactly bursting with flavor, Karlovaċko still delivered a respectable level of grassy malt flavor and a surprising amount of herbal, vaguely spicy hops taste. The finish had an increasing amount of bitterness that faded out at the right time instead of lingering and morphing into a metallic bite I despise. The feel was a bit watery and slick.
Overall, this finished up on a strong note. While nothing earth-shattering, Karlovaċko had a decent flavor and was an interesting find.

Pours a pale orange color with yellow highlights. Decent white head that recedes quickly leaving some average lacing. Not bad for the appearance. Aroma of some grainy, husky malts, and decent herbal hop aroma. Not skunky in the least. Flavor is where things go downhill. A bit watered down, some husky pale malts, light sweetness, and a below average hop flavor for a Czech style pilsener. No aftertaste whatsoever, finish is incredibly clean. There a slight bite at the end, but the flavor is just lacking. Medium bodied, which is surprising since it tastes so light, and very drinkable. This stuff goes down so easy, it's almost sad that it has no flavor. I bought a single bottle of this because I've never had a beer from Croatia. I probably won't be revisiting this any time soon but it was worth the shot.

500 ml bottle poured into a pilsener glass.

A- Even a gentle pour, left a big 2-3 finger, fluffy white head. The body was a clear, deep, golden color with hefty carbonation rushing to the top. The head had some great staying quality. Eventually it dropped to a full lace that left nice rings on the glass.

S- There was an initial rush of skunkiness. On futher inspection there was a decent cereal quality to the malt profile that was balanced with some light, spicy hops.

T- The flavor was a little thin at first. There was, again, a nice mix of doughy malts and spicy hops. I was expecting a nice dry finish, but it ended up lingering a bit.

M- It had a fairly clean feel with a significant bite from the hops and the high carbonation level.

D- I just wasn't overly impressed with this beer. While not bad, so many of the key components (aroma, flavor) were just a bit "off."

Served in the 500 mL bottle. The color is golden with a bit of sediment suspension, and a thin covering of white foam. The smell is a mix of the sweet malt and slight (Saaz?) hops. The taste is fairly dry with the hops hitting at first, followed by a hint of sweetness in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is fairly smooth. Drinkability-wise, could maybe have another.

Better than I was expecting. Though certainly not a Pilsner Urquell/Czechvar, this doesn't completely disappoint, and this is one I'd possibly have again.
