Haven't been here in awhile, but definitely the best selection in NEPA. I stopped in to look for a wandering
KBS, but to no avail. However, they are sitting on beer you just won't otherwise find in NEPA.
Bells Black Note, SN Narwhal, Peche Mortel, to name a few. If you are hunting for some rarified finds, this
is the place.

Only drawback is they do not accept credit cards. This practice is just lame considering how quickly
your beer tally can add up. Otherwise, they'd get a 5...

I stopped in for a pizza with my brother since we were in the area. The restaurant has an old time nostalgic feel with booths as you enter and a cooler with lots of bottle in the take out area. The food was great - we tried the buffalo chicken pizza and the beers were fresh.

The quality is very good and service definitely above average. I will not hesitate to stop in again if I return.

If you live in the Scranton / WB area this is by far and large the ULTIMATE bottle shop within 100 miles! I was completely blown away. The vibe / interior are beautiful. The selection is unlike anything in the area. The owner is a great guy who is extremely passionate about beer. He will hunt down basically anything you request if it's not already on hand. So glad to not have to drive 1+hrs for good beer. Do yourself a favor and check this place out, now! I'll be stopping in a regular basis.

Best place for pizza in all of Pennsylvania. Try the Pepperoni! A great draft list, and what I like to call "The Bible," a bound book , probably about 15 pages long with a most respectable bottle list. This is a weekly stop for my wife and I for pizza and a beer flight.

This place is great. The interior is beautiful and inviting and the bar must be seen to be appreciated. Great tap list served in nice glassware. You can choose a 4 oz pour, a 10 oz pour, or a 16 oz pour. The adjoining bottle shop is top notch all the way and moderately priced. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Mike who works the floor in particular knows his shit. The pizza is alright. Overall, easily, and I mean by far, the best craft bar/store in the area. Though there are a couple TVs behind the bar and they all display the same thing, which is the current tap list/menu. They should dedicate one TV to some sort of actual TV program.

The new Bar / Bottle shop is now open and it's amazing.

Twenty taps, six towers, probably close to 2000 different beers, all in the cleanest most comfortable setting. Lindo spared no expense putting together a place where beer geeks can do their thing. The atmosphere is warm with a beautiful cast concrete bar and large wood beams thru out the building. Lots of real stone work is highlighted by the large stone fire place with leather chairs and sofa in front of the fireplace making for a tremendous place to hangout with good friends and good beer.
For anyone who is hungry, pizza can be ordered from the original shop across the parking lot and it’s delivered hot and fresh. There are also six or so covered tables outside, in front of the shop, with gas lights burning at night. It’s an enclosed sitting area that makes for a great place to sit, eat, enjoy a craft or two while watching the world go by.
I know my description doesn’t do Sab’s Beer Bar justice so if you are ever in the area you have to stop in and see it for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

Unique, and tasty pizza that I remember having as a little kid in the 80's. But I've only just recently started coming here for the beer (moved back to the area). Lindo is the coolest, most knowledgeable owner/beer guy I've run into. Shoots straight with me every time I stop in. For that, Sabatini's is the first place I hit, and usually the only one I need to. Selection is better than anywhere in the northeast part of PA. And the tap takeovers are outstanding. They are opening a beer-only place next door, and I will be a regular.

I wish I had reviewed Sabatini's much earlier. Here's why I love Sabatini's. We live in SC, but come back to visit the in-laws on all holidays and other trips. Lindo, the owner, knows his beer, always provides great customer service and remembers you even if you only get there a couple times a year. He has employees that are very enthusiastic about beer, too.

Sabatini's is one of many local pizza places, but people in this area eat a lot of pizza! Each pizza place makes their own style...round, square, thin crust, thick crust, various sauces...all worth a try to see what you like. But this is a BEER site, so back to the beer!

Always 10+ quality beers on tap. Sit down in the modest dining area or just hang out out front with your beer and talk beer. Today on my birthday, had a La Trappe Quad, very nice start to the day after a workout. Good selection of bottled beer to choose from, many that I can't get in the Carolinas. As well as Lindo, I always get enthusiastic assistance from workers, especially another younger gentleman who I will ask his name tomorrow!

Sabatini's has many impressive tap takeovers that, unfortunately, I am not here for and extremely jealous when I learn about them. If the grapevine says Sabatini's is expanding, especially for the beer side, I offer my full support! If you live in the area looking for a particular beer, be sure to just ask! I am sure they will help you.

On vacation for about 5 days, and I'll be back at Sabatini's for at least 3 of them.

Stopped in for lunch today while visiting customers in the area, first visit. Food was solid, kind of a old school neighborhood pizza joint feel. Nice little front takeout room with a cooler full of decent selections for the areas, pricing seemed reasonable too. Nice draft list, their special events look amazing. Asked about "special" stock and that's when the fun started. Went back in the back room and there was so much beer stashed back there, came away with some real nice gems. Good news is they are making the building next door and turning it into one of the largest bottle shops in PA, should be open in May/June of this year. Must visit if you are in the area.

Scored 2 bottles of Hopslam and an 11-11-11 Vertical Epic. I will be going back there very soon and for all of my needs in the future.

a this is nothing special in terms of atmosphere... wooden booths, crappy tables, that burnt orangish brown tile floors.

q WHAT!!! damn, this place rocks! ipas are fresh, stouts are aged (several years in some circumstances) food is fresh and delicious! AWESOME!

s food service was fair, nothing special. the beer service on the other hand was amazing, the owner came out and spoke to me for about 10 minutes and looked for off the menu stuff for me too. he was super knowledgeable about beer and was able to tell me about a lot of stuff they had there.

s DAMN!!! they had at least 250 different bottles, cantillon, KBS, older viscosity, a ton of sours, bruery stuff, stille nacht, and many other rarities!!! love this place!

f delicious!! the best wings ever! the pizza is phenomenal. best pizza in the valley.

v very reasonable, KBS was 10 a bottle, small cantillons were 15, older viscosity was 12. this place was awesome!

This place rocks the house in every category, i cant believe this is in wyoming valley... you could put this place in a big city and it would be loved. I cannot believe the bottle selection they had and there were no bottle limits. everything was amazing and i would go back every time I come up.

Their beer selection is the best I have seen for miles- especially locally. They have tons of cool events going on, great beers on draft, and they always have the most hyped releases and seasonal beers around.

On top of all that their pizza is damn good too. Lindo is the man and really knows his shit when it comes to beer. The service is excellent and everyone has been nothing but friendly.

I'll be a loyal customer as long as I live nearby.

The food here is excellent. delicious pizza and wings. Good quality salads as well. Nice cozy atmosphere and great for the whole family.

The beer selection is second to none. Lots of rare bottles that you wont find anywhere else in this area. The best tap selection in the area as well, by far! Very knowledgeable staff as well, and they're always willing to help you out and talk beer.

I'll be going to Sab's for as long as I'm living in this area. Best place around!

SABATINI'S IS CASH ONLY. THERE AREN'T ANY SIGNS. I hate that, I really do. I am much less likely to be a return customer at a place where I have to pay a shitty ATM fee just to settle my bill. Unpleasant.

I got a recommendation to stop a Sabatini's (from ffejherb's wife, thanks), and since it was only a couple miles off of my route, I decided to give it a shot. The couple of miles that I traveled through after getting off the highway is a pretty run-down looking area. In all seriousness, I saw about 20 pizza places. Every block had at least one to choose from. I'm not sure how all of these places stay in business, but that isn't really the point of this review.

I walked in and I could see quite a few bottles in a few tall coolers in the take out section to my right. I seated myself. The place is generally a dingy, slightly run-down, old-school style pizzeria like you have seen many times before. Every seat is a high walled, wooden booth.

The menu is small and on the table, basically pizza, wings and a couple of sandwiches. A pretty good amount of pizza toppings too. I had to ask for the beer menu, and it was much more extensive. There are six beers on-tap, and nothing that is very great; I was hoping for something from the local brewery, but no such luck. The bottle list, however, is absolutely fantastic. There are hundreds of beers that all have the prices marked and are all very fair. In fact, for PA, they are more than fair. Some things that stick out were a few different angel's Share bottles, and a couple of varieties of the single barrel Rodenbach beers. Just a great selection for anywhere.

The pizza was pretty good. Very thin, and cheese, toppings and sauce go all the way to the end, eliminating any crust. I wouldn't make the trip just for the pizza, but if I lived in the area I might stop when I was in the mood for pizza (if I didn't like one of the 1000 other places around here better, that is).

Service was friendly and prompt. You take your check to pay at the register, where they will inform you that you need cash. They were apologetic about this, so I wasn't angry, but I was certainly irritated.

Overall, this is a good place to stop if you're passing through.

My wife and I stopped here on the way home from a weekend in NEPA including a beer festival in Tunkhannock (where?), PA, based on the recommendation of Bill from MyBeerBuzz.com. I'm glad we stopped. In addition to a fantastic bottle selection and friendly staff, we were treated to a diverse tap selection that had me taking home a growler of Lost Abbey Brandy Barrel Angel's Share for only $30! Some of the other stand-out taps included Port Wipeout IPA and DFH My Antonia. The bottle selection is prominently displayed in the entrance near the counter, where you can peruse all of the various 12oz. bottles, bombers and 750mls they have. Our server was also quick to provide me with an in-depth and updated bottle list, which included prices and other info about each beer they had in stock. Very nicely done!

We had a light lunch of soup and salad, and we were both pleased with the quality and portions. We each had the chicken Caesar salad and a bowl of the soup of the day - mine was Manhattan chowder and the wife had cream of broccoli. No complaints here. Rather than having the server hand out menus, their menu is framed on the wall over each table/booth, so you can check it out immediately upon sitting down, which I thought was clever.

The owner, a pleasant elderly man who opened the restaurant back in the 1950s, even stopped by our table to say hello. That was a nice touch!

All in all, a great experience. I walked out with some nice bottles and a growler of Angel's Share, and well as some tasty food in my belly. I will definitely be back when we visit NEPA again!

I just discovered Sabatini's in the past year and boy am I glad I did! They're a bit out of the way for me otherwise I'd stop by more frequently. I've never eaten there so I can't comment on the food, I just stop in to grab some beer to go. Their selection is much more extensive that what it appears to be when you walk in the door. They have a couple glass door coolers packed full of beer. The problem is that you can't see all the different beers that they have. If you open the cooler and move a bottle, chances are good that the bottle behind it is a different beer - most likely from the same brewer.

Besides the coolers, they also have a small selection of beer on the counters near the coolers and others that are in the back somewhere - you have to ask for them. The staff is very knowledgeable about their beer and can help you find what you're looking for. They also have a handful of taps and offer growler fills as well as smaller plastic jug fills of quarts and pints.

Their prices are reasonable and they even have a small cooler with assorted $1 bottles near the counter. These are not all macros either!

If you go, make sure you have cash on hand since they don't take credit cards.

My biggest issue with Sabatini's is that they don't have enough cooler/shelf space to display their selection, which makes it hard to browse.

What a beer selection. I arrived just after opening for lunch but there was one customer ahead of me who ordered like ten pizzas to go. So no problem lets drink some beer. I started with a bottle of Bell's Hop Slam, first time for me with this one, excellent but 10%abv, what am I doing. Next I choose a bottle of Pennichuck Scottish Ale, first time also and also excellent but 9%abv, hurry up pizza!!
I have to give credit to the NEPA folks, while I was there three times someone would pull up and come inside and order one bottle of beer. they did not look in the case or the menu they knew exactly what they wanted and not like Roque but like Allagash White and the Pennichuck, that how I noticed it.
As for the pizza, fresh high quality ingredients and a great crust. When I was paying I noticed a six pack of Stegmaier Gold on the counter, I know that this is not micro but we dont get this in the west, so I asked how much, oh half price today, well gee whiz I guess I will take it.

Stopped in at Sabatini's for lunch with the wife while my car was being worked on. I had read good things about the beer and food, and figured since we were in the area it was worth a stop. Atmosphere was a bit dated and simple, pretty basic for a pizza joint. We kept it simple for lunch, we ordered ourselves a couple of hoagies that were pretty tasty. The beer selection, both on tap and in bottles, was pretty impressive - not what I expected given the general look and feel of the place. Unfortunately for me, I only had time to sample one of their offerings before I got the call saying my car was ready. Oh well. My only gripe about the place was the growlers. While it's awesome that they offer growlers, they were asking what I think is an unreasonable price for them: $25 for an empty + the cost of the fill. Given how reasonable the prices for their bottles were, the growler price was a shocker. Still, everything else was good, so I can see myself stopping in the next time I'm in the area. Just no growlers for me.

I've been going to this place for takeout beer for the past few years and have always enjoyed the selection. The other night we went for dinner. When I walked in I was handed a Chimay beer menu. I opened it and found the first page contained twelve great drafts, with few fillers. Listed below the drafts were seasonal specials. On draft they had Avery Dugana IPA, Corsendonk Apple White, Sierra Porter, and Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin, just to name a few. The next few pages had their entire bottle selection listed by country (almost 50 Belgian beers). Who would've thought that a pizza shop had a better selection than every beer bar in the Wyoming Valley (maybe the state, rivaling Philly). There are probably close to 250 bottles or more from several different countries available here and the prices are VERY reasonable. Our waitress, Shannon, seemed rather knowledgeable about the beers and the guys at the front counter were helpful too.

It's located right on Wyoming Ave and with an ample size parking lot, there are always spaces available. There is not really ever a wait to be seated except sometimes on Fridays when it gets really busy. Even then it's only a few minute wait.

The only thing they don't provide is someone to carry you to your car when you're leaving (that juice got me crunk).

AAA+++

They have a huge cooler in front with about 200 selections plus more in the back. The prices on some are the best around. They focus a lot on 22 ouncers and 750's. Plus a bunch of smaller bottles. Their selections include Founders, Southampton, Bell's DFH, Lost Abbey, Mikkeller and many more plus some great Belgians. They also have a very knowledgable staff with beer smarts, not to mention the good food. Especially the cheese steaks. And the have enough room to seat a small city.

I've sampled several of the beers from their 160+ bottle selection and am always satisfied with the quality and prices. The draft lineup is always changing and there's something there for all tastes and preferences. Rumor has it that Kwak and some Southern Tier Pumpking are coming up on draft. I've been going to Sabatini's since the late 80's when we used to meet up with my friends father, who worked nearby, for lunch. They had a great beer selection then (had my first Rogue here), and they have a stellar selection now. An example of said selection: Lost Abbey, Port Brewing, Founders, Bell's, Bear Republic, Stone, Pennichuck, Hoppin' Frog, Mikkeller, Green Flash, Southampton, DFH, all the usual PA breweries: Sly Fox, Tröegs, Victory, Weyerbacher, etc. They happened to have Bell's Hopslam on tap during my visit - $6 for a full snifter. They will fill any growler you bring in off of the taps - quart, half gallon, gallon. Food, especially the pizza, is top notch and has been extremely consistent since my first visit. They used to sell a couple varieties of their pizza in the frozen section of some local grocery stores. I miss that, but I am more than happy to go right to the source when the craving strikes. Service is very friendly, quick and efficient. Check it out even if you are remotely close by.

Sabatini's is probably the best place in Luzerne County to get bottles and 6 packs. They don't have quite as large a selection as Goldstein's but the freshness and quality is a lot better. 2 full coolers of singles greet you when you walk in, and anything that comes in a 4 or 6 pack can also be had that way. Great stuff from Lost Abbey, Stone, Bear Republic, Southampton, DFH, etc. They even get the limited release Southern Tier stuff. Lots of Belgian and other imports, as well. All told he probably has 120 to 150 beers at any one time. They also have 8 or so drafts which they'll fill half and full gallons of for very cheap prices. Prices in general are quite reasonable.

Take a peek and ask for Lindo, he'll steer you right. Oh yeah, and their pizza is damn good too.
