This is the sister store to Olivers on Colvin. Lately I find myself going to Westmere more. Several reasons for this: First they separate the new releases and put them on a separate shelf. They tend to get things around the same time as Olivers and things tend to last on the shelves a little bit longer. The service at both locations is good but this location has a few beer geeks on staff. Some know their stuff and will make a nice recommendation from time to time. I was once recommended Wild Blue here so be careful. They have been known to give out glasses to those with discerning tastes which Olivers does not do. Definately worth a stop if in town.

Pulled up to this store and thought it looked like a drug drop. OK, do I go in? I did and was quite impressed with their selection, holy crap! Talk about not judging a book by it’s cover, Night Shift Whirlpool and Santilli, Burial (NC), Kent Falls (CT) plus some up and coming NY brewers that I didn’t know of but got to talking with one of the sales guys and he talked about them and gave me some free samples of these up and coming brewers. So service is definitely up there. Value seemed reasonable for the Albany area. Plus, their mix-a-six packs they take $3 off. I know where I’m stopping at in Albany next time I’m there. Just ignore the outside and you all will be fine.

Read about westmere as the place to go in the Albany area. Didn't disappoint, not much of a vibe just a typical upstate beer store, not much is refrigerated and the walk in cooler is full of BMC. However the crowler station was a great option with a wide variety and very reasonable prices. Pretty much everything just gets distributed to upstate NY can be found here. Staff was very helpful pointing me to some fresh NE IPAs I may have otherwise overlooked. Pipeworks Citra DIPA was just icing on the cake.

I actually was disappointed with Westmere. I expected it to be similar to their sister store, Olivers, but found it lacking. The place is a bit of a dump, was kinda dirty, and was picked over. I thought it was much more crowded than Olivers and had trouble finding some common east coast beers - like Dog Fish Head. Lots of 6 packs missing a beer - and a lot of empty holes. Not a bad experience, but - considering I would be coming from the Northway - prefer Olivers over this joint.

Great store with amazing selection and helpful staff. I always spend more time than planned browsing the aisles and looking at the recent arrivals. good job of keeping Facebook updated on the week's arrivals and kegs on growler station. Sometimes difficult to get rarer beers but they are fair about spreading the wealth using bottle limits.

Killer selection, helpful staff, and a nice variety on the taps. If you happen to be at Crossgates Mall, take the three minute drive to Westmere for some treats to bring home.

The sister store to Oliver's- part of the Brew Crew group of stores in Albany. The selection is very similar to Oliver's, but a few bottles missing at Westmere that were at Oliver's, with a few bottles missing at Oliver's that were at Westmere. Picked up some Pretty Things for the first time, haven't seen it on the shelf in Rochester yet. The place is kind of dirty, a bit grimy. A warehouse sort of feel to it, much like Oliver's. Friendly employees though, offered help even when I didn't need it.
