This is simply a huge store. I visited from out of state. I didn't ask for any help finding beers. I've noticed in other reviews that customer service has been bad, but I can't speak to that other than the cashier I dealt with being average. Overall the selection was very good, but was hoping for some more rare selections.

Practically had to fight off floor people asking if I wanted help or recommendations. I can't comment on the quality of their service since I like to browse around by myself, but they're definitely putting in major effort into revamping their reported image of being hands-off and unhelpful. Selection is massive, having shopped at Lukas, Davidsons, and Applejack I'd say these guys are easily at the top, especially for imports from Germany and Belgium. Craft ciders have the largest selection I've seen as well. They have a nice sign indicating rarer brews that are limited to 1 per person in their bomber cooler.

I'll stop by other shops for rarer, less seen stuff but this definitely seems to be a good place to go if you want to actually shop around for beers.

Great selection, very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Cozy, but kind of corporate vibe. Average prices. One thing that bothered me a lot was the sun beating down on all the top-shelf spirits for hours every day. I'm not sure if they are aware that sunlight and alcohol are enemies. I will not buy anything top-shelf from here for that reason. Otherwise, great store.

Great shop in my neighborhood. Variety of craft selections is as good or better than any Denver-area store, and everything is cold-stored in the big walk-in cooler.

Service-wise, here's what you need to know. It's a BIG store. I mean huge. If you need help with finding a beer, or getting recommendations on a style, try to locate someone in the front as soon as you walk in. Staff is always willing to help, but they aren't constantly patrolling the beer cooler. They'll help you find what you're looking for, and if they don't have it, they'll order it and call you when it's available.

Overall, highly recommended.

I worked there for almost a year. Not only is the management and owner just downright horrible, but the store is falling apart. They do not offer their employees direct deposit, and cut employees hours more than half without telling them ahead of time. I was promised when I was hired, that after 6 months of working that I was to receive a raise. I had been there almost a year, and not had so much of even a meeting with a manager. On a weekend, while I was not scheduled to work, the main manager, Paige, calls me on the phone, while I am in New Mexico, to tell me that they were "letting me go". They didn't even have the balls to tell me that I was fired in person. The managers at this establishment fail to actually "manage" and instead, sit on their asses all day(playing darts or just screwing around)not giving their employees much attention, so that they can grow as a business. I do NOT recommend shopping at this establishment because they mark up the price of a lot of items, more than most of their competition, and if you have any issue, more times than not, a manager will not even bother to find a decent solution. I feel like this business is running out of money and trying to cut costs. Seeing as they have fired about 6 employees in the past few weeks. They also can't even afford to replace the lights that have burned out(some have been out since I started working there), or fix any of the leaks when it rains or snows. Do NOT try to be employed here, as they will just end up screwing you over.

Plain and simple this place does not respect beer and is by far the worst experience of my craft beer life.

Do you like a good selection? Do you like consistently rude and clueless employees? Do you like prices that are 10-25% higher than other places?

I live less then one mile away from this place and I love craft beer. Sounds like a match made in heaven, right? I spent thousands of dollars here and it was like they were begging me to stop spending my dollars there. Every time I go to pay some surly employee just stares at me like a goon. I know they're staring because they want to see my ID. That's fine. But, if you need to see my ID you're going to have to ask for my ID. I'm sorry, train your employees. Don't try to train your customers to automatically present their ID. This happened every single time I was in.

Do you need a pack of smokes? No problem, just ask and a surly employee will throw them on the counter and roll their eyes. One time an employee literally threw a pack across the counter and hit my girl friend. It really made me mad but the employee was so mean that I was afraid to say anything.

I still shopped their because I liked the selection. I started to feel like I was sacrificing my dignity by shopping there. The last straw was when Chad Bro Chill told me my infected stout which smelled and tasted of rotten garbage. "Was completely fine, and was obviously not infected." Really? I didn't get the memo about Christmas Bomb tasting like rotten garbage.

I have gotten bad customer service there no less then 20 times. This place is an insult to Craft Beer. By far the worst experience in my beer history.

Cheers!!! Have a Blue Moon and a shot of gummy bear vodka on me!!

Well, this place looks like a ski lodge, and with the foothills/mountains so close, it's a good vibe. Cavernous inside, high ceilings and open spaces. Looks more like an REI or outdoor sporting goods store the way it's laid out. Not many aisles or stiff sections.

Beer selection is large, yet not the biggest. BMC and import/craft are separated and the walk-in cooler is nice. There were a few staple breweries missing in order to complete a "5" rating and no single-buys (although a mix-six is available).
Import bomber section is smaller than I would have thought walking it, but it's by no means small.

Friendly service, although some clerks were watching the games on TV...as was I. No worries there, really, unless I needed something.

Overall a great place...too far for me to visit, though.

Monstrous liquor store, absolutely huge. Beer selection is mostly first rate. Their six-pack selection doesn't have a huge amount of rare or hard-to-find beers, but just about every domestic year round you could want is here. The real gem here is the stupifying walk-in bomber cooler. So much here; domestic, int'l, seasonals and limited releases. Truly the place to find some cellaring ammo. Mix six wall is pretty good, too, but the selection doesn't seem to change that much that often

Service sucks, everyone seems to hate their jobs and the one beer person was pretty ignorant or just assumes everyone is a beer noob ("this one is an IPA, it has a lot of hops in it" wow, thanks for the breakdown...). Fortunately I don't usually need help. If you know beer and what you like, head here and blow all your money. If not, prepare to be overwhelmed by the selection and underwhelmed by the service.

A-Tipsy's is located in the western suburbs of Denver...and is absolutely, freaking, incredibly gi-normous. Seriously, this place could be a Home Depot or Super Wal-Mart. The hugeness means that the atmosphere is a bit phone and cold, but there are weird mannequins to welcome you at the front door, so there is that. Anyway, it is just strange-feeling in the place.

Q-Both times I have visited Tipsy's, almost all of their craft beer has been in one of the many (like a dozen or more) coolers or in the large walk-in bomber room. I guess one advantage of being a huge store is that you can store your good beer cool. As for the quality of the beer, most of the stock was fresh or close to fresh the last time I dropped in, but my first visit was a little more suspect with some old, dusty bottles hanging around.

Ser-The service here is hands-off. I've been twice and was never once asked if I needed help. Maybe I just looked like I knew what I wanted, but it still would've been nice to have the option of assistance. Also, the last time I visited, I got the always-annoying, "Wow, that is an expensive beer" from the check-out guy.

Sel-Selection is where this place shines. They have a massive stockpile of Colorado craft bombers and smaller format, a pretty good selection of imports (including less common imports like Japan), and a huge mixer-sixer selection. The mixer-sixer selection is probably the biggest in Denver. I don't think of Tipsy's is on the cutting edge of rare bottles, like a Mr. B's or Mile High, but they did have a few harder-to-find brews.

V-Tipsy's prices are in-line with what you would find at other huge liquor stores in Denver. The giant store must mean lots of overhead because, contrary to what you might expect from a mega-store, the prices are not very low.

O-This place impresses by shear size, but falls a bit short of the truly great bottle shops we have in town.

Worst keg experience ever.
- Ordered an 8-gallon keg over a week in advance. 3 days later, was told there were no 8-gallon kegs, so had to switch it to a 5-gallon keg.
- Then a day before I was to pick up the keg, I was told the beer was out-of-stock. Shouldn't they have known this a lot earlier? So I was offered a discount on a lesser beer.
- A few hours later, I received another call saying they were able to get my original beer. How's that possible? Weren't they out-of-stock? I'm guessing someone just forgot to place the order.
- I finally get the keg, drive an hour out-of-town into the national forest with no cell reception, only to find they had given me the wrong tap. The tap they gave us wouldn't fit the keg. Drive miles to find cell reception. They swear they gave us the right tap. I have friends go and pick up a new tap, and we get the keg working. Yes, they had given us the wrong tap.
- After that entire nightmare of an experience, I return everything fully expecting a comp of the keg, for all my wasted time and the wasted time of my friends. The beer manager, Brady, refuses and offers a token of a free 6-pack, and also refuses to allow me to speak to the store manager, Page. BS. Keep your 6-pack. You'll receive negative reviews instead.

UPDATE: A week after posting this review, one of the managers called and refunded the keg.

Tipsy's has a great selection of beer offerings. The highlight for me are the first 6 coolers, which offer a huge variety of singles that you can mix and match into a six pack. This is a boon to the beer explorer who is looking to sample a wide range of beer and beer styles without committing to a six of any single offering. Want to try six different New Belgium offerings, no problem. Want to try six IPA's from different brew houses, no problem. Want to compare three Belgian beers to three American made Belgian style beers, no problem.

Access is easy from C-470, so if you are driving by, think about stopping in and mixing a six pack of something you have never tried, or whatever hits your fancy.

Great idea!

If you like bombers and are in the area then you need to be here during their tastings. Every weekend 8 different bombers get tasted between Friday and Saturday. Just this weekend the lineup was: Deschutes Hop In the Dark, Firestone Walker DBA, La Chouffe Gold, Dry Dock Vanilla Porter, Boulevard Two Jokers and some others I can't remember. But the tastings are 5-7 Friday and 4-6 Sat and they put the products that are getting tasted on their facebook page a few hours prior. Really awesome stuff. Don't miss the bomber room either while you are there. Really impressive selection...

Tipsy's right across from a glowering white church and the foothills. Standing an impressive form over the highway luring all who come by with its size and depth. It really is a decent atmosphere here. I usually come by on Fridays and Saturdays and often they are doing free liquor tasting, which always includes beer. Well lit, enormous. The biggest selection I've ever seen anywhere. And heyo! make your own sixpacks for 10 bucks... I do all the time thank you. There is also a deli within that is quite pricey but the food is delicious. The value is reasonable because you can always find something interesting on sale. I support small time brewers, not necessarily small time liquors stores and this really helps me support that sentiment. There are many workers here, some are booze geniuses, others can't see beyond there own Bud light lime goggles, that is kind of a toss up but if you say "hey is there anyone here considered a beer expert and can they help me?" You should find the man or woman you need.

I was not impressed with this place. Sure it is huge and they have a lot of stuff to choose from but good luck finding somebody that actually knows what they are talking about their. It's just like davidsons all flash with nothing to back it up. It is nice to see one other big store on that side town but it is a little excessive, their overhead must be enourmous. I left there feeling like they could care less that i was a customer there, especially since I only walked out of there with a six pack.

Was in the area so I stopped in after knowing about the place for a few years. With Lukas and Davidson's right up the road, it seemed like an odd decision to put another liquor superstore in the same neck of the woods.
After walking in, it should be noted that there's a deli and a wine bar inside of it, so that's kind of a cool extra. Nobody else really has anything like that.
Also, this place looks really nice. The decor is the best I've ever seen. Interesting choice to have weird life-like mannequins scattered around. I think it makes the place look better staffed than it really is :P
The entire back wall is dedicated to multi-packs and quite a bit of it is made up of craft and solid import beers. Overall, it's on par with the better stores I've seen. There's a create your own six-pack option, too...which most other places are missing. Another bonus.
In addition, there's a pretty large walk-in cooler area with singles of all kinds, including Belgians, Germans, US crafts, and even some obscure items I haven't seen much of.
Overall this might be the #1 or #2 place in the whole metro area...except for the prices. Everything's about 20% higher than the others. There had to be a catch. Oh well. It's still a good store with a great selection, I just wouldn't ever make it my go-to store for everyday items.

Tipsy's sure is big. That's the first thing I noticed. It sits all alone in a parking lot right off the highway. If you can't spot Tipsy's, you probably need your eyes checked.

To me, selection here is on par with Total Beverage in Westminster, but not quite up to the standards of Davidson's over in Highlands Ranch. Quality is quite good, as the majority of the beer is refrigerated in a giant wall of coolers that line the back of the store. As an added bonus, there's a deli attached to the store, but I didn't take the time to check it out.

With lots of dark wood and big stone columns inside, Tipsy's is more aesthetically pleasing than most stores I've been to. Paying for all that eye candy seems to have been pushed into the prices, as beer here seems more expensive than other other places I've recently visited.

Service from the plentiful staff was good.

Tipsy's is certainly worth a return trip next time I'm in the area.

I was on a trip in Denver and made my way to this beer store. Absolutely beautiful! This is the largest liquor store I have ever seen! Great selection, had a ton of bombers in a large walk in cooler room. Including all of the breweries I was looking for... RR, Lost Abbey, New Belgium, etc. Also had a very large section for mix 6 choices, and 6 packs.

The staff was not incredibly knowledgeable on the beer, but they did know if they had a certain beer and where it was, which is all I really needed. No recommendations, which would have been nice but not necessary.

This is the best beer store, period.

The selection is second to none, better then Beertopia Omaha, better then Specks Houston, Better (just slightly) the Good Beer LA.

Prices are a little steep 8-12% more then Arrow. The selection makes up for it. There are case discounts and specials often mitigate the prices.

Every Friday and Saturday they have free tastings, wine, liquor and Beer! Not just the American Premium Lagers, but all of the great stuff too. This week was the fourth Saturday in a row of Holiday Beer Tastings.

Glass Doors line the entire back wall of the building, and the building is huge. 85% of the doors are beer, and 50% are great beers. The stash cool room has the premium stuff, and is worth the trip alone.

Tipsy's has become a weekly stop for me and the free beer tastings are costing us $20 a week.

Tipsy's Liquor World - WOW! What else can I say? We have nothing in Virginia that can compare. I read about Tipsy's before flying to Colorado last week and was not disappointed from what I saw. If a better beer store exists in the continental United States I would love to visit it.

From a separate cooler room for the "good" beers to an entire wall for "everything" else, what's not to love about this place. I mean, even the name is great! And mannequins?!?

Not being from the area I was very pleased to find a Breckinridge 471 to go with my New Belgium 1554 - all for about $10. In Virginia, that would cost about double...Oh, that's right, we don't have those beers here. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to look forward to my next trip out west. Like I sad, a great beer selection. The entire back wall is a beer cooler. Great selection or domestic and imported brew. Great selection of quality as well. I saw bottles anywhere from a buck to twenty five. Prices are fair, but perhaps on the expensive side.

I accidently dropped a bottle and they were very nice about it.(didn't charge me for the bottle. I would like to chat with their buyer sometime.

They have what you might expect, just more of it and in a bigger place.

I was totally underwhelmed in any degree of knowledge from the staff; they could tell you the price and read the label for you.

I think the selection at Davidsons is better. Maybe Tipseys will turn over and change offerings periodically or go after some of the more eclectic stuff. You cna mix/match 6-packs for ten bucks, but the beers you can mix are limited to many of the usual suspects. I do like to checkout the bombers in the back cooler, their Ayinger and Erdinger lines were good beers, but its not like you can't find them around anywhere else.

Seems a bit pricey...likely ot pay the heating and cooling bill. Save money, and for me the drive, go to Davidsons.

Here is my review from when I was there when it opened. Nothing has changed much. There is a little more in the big walk-in cooler. there appears to be no one there that knows anything about beer there.

---
They had the typical selection of Colorado and surrounding microbrews like new belgium, bristol, fort collins, avery, fly dog, osker blues entire line up, big sky, dogfish head, Alaskan, dechuttes (no abyss even though it was at other stores when I first went there)etc... some north coast beer I saw was Old Rasputin and one with the seal and the only sierra nevada beer I saw was the pale ale and harvest ale (I think).

The "fine beer" selection on US side was nothing sepecial with the typical stone, avery, great divde, 22 oz, etc offerings (This has gotten better in the last few months they now have Alaskan, Ommenang, Hennipen, Fuller, Sam Smith and others). I specifically was looking for Avery Beast and they did not have it (they subsequently got it later). However, I did feel that the Belgium offerings was pretty good compared to any other SW Denver liquor store. Not knowing a lot of Belgiums beers and can't comment on the quality, but I did notice Westmalle and Brassiere de Rocs in bombers and 4-packs and a bunch of others. The German offereings was not as good.

I was surprised to see Jolly Pumpkin in the cooler!! They were selling them for $14.50 a six pack. Being from Ann Arbor (JP is in Dexter), I had to get a sixer. I did not know this was sold in CO.

The $10 build you own six pack was mostly Sam Adams beers, Colorado microbrewery beers and some other brews from surrounding states, nothing really that interesting in it. Even with the price of 6-packs going up I am not sure I would pay the extra $2 do get a mix. In general they seem do be a little more expensive on average.

The place is huge, just like Bubbles in Castle Rock and there is a lot of wasted space (thier energy bill to heat and cool this place will be huge). There is a fireplace in the middle and a guy was playing the grand piano. It also has a deli and wine bar attached to it. I thought ot would be cool if the wine bar also served specialty beers, but it does not.

I still will be going to Arrow and Super Liquor Mart for the more specialty stuff and the occasional trip to Davidson's. Worth checking out if you are in the area, but I would not make a special trip.

Once again I feel thier overall selection is good, better than Arrow and Super Liquor Mart, but not as good as Davidson's. Also they don't seem to get the specialty stuff and there prices seem to be a little high.
