Reddish copper color with average head that left little lacing. A slight sweet scent is about all you get from it...wish it was better. The taste however blows the smell away. Sweet, bready maltiness with a nice balancing bitterness. The flavors almost hit you unexpectedly if you start judging it by the aroma. Very tasty, well balanced brew.

Appearance: clear dark copper in color with a 2" head. Mild lacing develops on the glass during the session.
Smell: a hint of caramel candy sweetness is all the nose picks ups.
Taste: full bodied maltiness creating a caramel sweetness, ripe black plums, and hearty bitterness makes my tastebuds dance. Much bolder flavors than other ambers I have had.
Mouthfeel: lightly crisp but smooth overall. Short aftertaste of malty goodness.
Drinkability: great session beer, and I tend to find most ambers dull and uninteresting - but this one is simply a pleasure to drink. Have one soon.

One of the better Amber ales I've had. It didn't look like much...beautiful reddish color but little head and little lacing. It didn't give too much aroma. But fortunately, beer is for drinking, not looking at and sniffing. This was a well balanced beer with a mixture of sticky rich malt and hops. Almost perfectly balanced for my taste.
