Was in Tulsa moving my daughter into her new apartment. Didn't have much time to shop around for beer, this place was next to Target, so ran inside to check out what they had. They had beer everywhere. Now if I lived in Tulsa, I would probably be kind of upset because nothing was priced, but for someone looking to grab some local beer, they had a pretty good selection.
Update
This has now become the store that my daughter uses to look for beer to bring me back from Tulsa. They gone out of their way to be nice to her and help her select beer that I cannot get back here in Texas. I really appreciate their effort. Thanks guys

Pretty "meh" I thought. They had quite a bit of random things, but the selection didn't blow me away. My main issue was the store wasn't set up well. There was just random beer in all sorts of weird places.

This used to be one of the few go-to places in Tulsa. I feel that the service and the selection of harder to find beers has diminished in the last several years.

To the post below; Oklahoma's archaic laws do not allow for coolers in liquor stores.

Why don't Tulsa beer stores have cold beer? I was in town on business and visited 3 different stores, including this one, and none of them had cold beer.

This place had a nice selection of warm beer. I did find a nice IPA, F5, and got a Prairie Bomb single. I just wish they would have been cold.

interestingly enough I stopped at a Walgreen's and they had cold beer, but it was all crap.

One of the better places to find craft beer in Tulsa. No, OK does not have the best selection, but if you are in the area, this is one of the better stops you can make. Staff is knowledgeable and kind. Lots of good local breweries represented and one of the largest Prairie selections around. Good place to hit up if you are near midtown.

Okay selection, but the rare stuff seemed to be picked over. Decent prices. Would be a go to store for regular stuff, but not for limited stuff.

Starting with the first correspondence with the Collins Midtown Liquor's staff it was obvious that there was no professionalism at this establishment. I entered to purchase beer and wine for my wedding, $2174.24 worth of products, and the employee used a paper sack to scratch down my order. They were unable to tell me a price, identify if they could get all the items or really anything. I then ordered the kegs and was required to wait till the following day to allow them to see if they could get all the beer and wine requested. After they confirmed the products were available, my wife went by to pay and was asked if she wanted anything chilled. She identified that all the bottled beer and 1 case of each type of wine needed to be chilled. When I came to pick up the beer a week later none of it was ready and the employees had to go through the store to pick out the beer from the shelf and it was not chilled as previously discussed. Beyond not having the beer ready they didn't get the order correct and I had to correct them multiple times. The employees were running around like chickens with their heads cut off with no idea what was happening. When I tried to return the kegs and identify that one of the taps was broken when we got it, the worker Brian was very rude and cursed at me as I tried to explain the situation. He then got his manager Lee Teague who was instantly aggressive and claimed we broke the tap. I explained that the full 5 gallon keg was my favorite beer and we were unable to drink it at my wedding due to the tap being broken. He again cursed and told me that the tap was not broken when we took it. After showing him that there was not a spring in the tap he still blamed me and told me that we were paying for the tap and he didn't care about the issues we had with his product. Lee required that I pay for the tap in order to get the remaining deposit back. I have never dealt with a less professional business and would suggest any anyone thinking of purchasing their products think again.

I've been to Midtown many times over a period of several years. I returned yesterday for the first time in almost 2 years after reading some great recent reviews and I was in the neighborhood anyway. It was pretty good before, but I can say that this store has seriously stepped up it's beer game since I was there last. At least half the store is dedicated to beer now. I found things there that I've seen no where else in Oklahoma. Tons of Oklahoma brews - Prairie, Marshall, Coop, Choc, Black Mesa, Rough Tail, Anthem, and Mustang. I was shocked by the piles of Prairie. Nice selections of Founders, Goose Island, Great Divide, Rogue, Avery, and countless others. Nice Belgian section. They had all the German Oktoberfests I was hunting for - Ayinger, Hacker-Pschorr, and Paulander. Both guys working were very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Prices are as good as it gets around Tulsa. Store was very clean and I really didn't see any dusty bottles. The pick 6 shelves didn't have anything I was interested in although the selection is pretty large. I think it's organized as well as it can be given the space. They're maxed out so it's a bit tough to maneuver a shopping cart with all the stacks of beer on the floor and narrow aisles. From now on, this is my go-to store in Tulsa even if it's out of my way and even though I hate the streets in that part of town. Go there, be happy.

The hippy guy knows enough about beer to find it if they have it and make good recommendations. There is actually a LOT of shelf space devoted to beer for a store this size. It's in a working class area of town, so don't expect to hob-nob with a lot of snooty people.

This liquor store has the best beer selection in Tulsa and always receives all the newest brews in a very timely fashion... And they normally get lots of it. Probably the best thing about this store is you can call them at 10 AM and tell them to hold a case of the new BOMB! they just got in and they'll do it for you. Places around here just don't do that. They also always have great bottle limits on limited stuff. great selection, great price.

This is my 'go-to' beer store when visiting Tulsa, Ok. Good selection and the staff seemed fairly knowledgeable. Fairly easy to get to other than when the fair is in town, then the traffic can be a nightmare. The pick six section is pretty well stocked. With German, Belgium and English beer broken down by country.

Outside of Macadoodles in Missouri this place has the best selection by far in the area. Unfortunately with Oklahoma beer laws they can't keep the beer cold, but when I go to TX or MO they have their best selection out of the coolers anyway. So I can't lower the beer quality for silly laws :). Jacob (the hairy one) has always been very helpful and gives me tips on when the freshest beer come in the store. For example Coop F-5 came in yesterday!!!! Oh this store helps make me a hoppy girl :)

What can I say? I was raised and lived in Tulsa for 26 years before I had to leave and see the rest of the world (in the military). Haven't been back in many, many, many years! Couldn't believe this place was still there, let alone one of the best places in Tulsa to get adult beverages. I was extremely happy my brother (living in Tulsa, again, himself) not only recommended, but took me to this gold mine of a place. Great selection! And for one who likes to try several different kinds of beer, at home, it's perfect for getting your one's and two's of trial bottles. All the other great beer, liqueur, and wine is there, too, of course. Kudos to the owners, managers, and staff who run a great store!

This place is great. Went there for the first time about two years ago. Never thought anything of it. Figured it was just another liquor store in a strip mall. Went it and was in awe. The beer selection is ridiculous. Two whole walls and the the middle of the floor were packed and sorted by country or type. The staff knows their stuff. Always find something new there to try. It's a bit of a drive for me in town but it's well worth it.

Best beer selection in Tulsa, they have several brands from breweries that I haven't found at any other store in Tulsa. Great single beer selection with build your own 6 pack options. They also have a large variety of 12 packs and 24 packs. You can usually find a good deal on a different beer every time you visit.

Nice enough selection but complete nightmare for customer service. If you’re in a pinch and BierGarten, Ranch Acres or Parkhill’s are out of what you’re looking for it’s worth a stop... just don’t expect any help or knowledge with the product.
For a place that claims to be the best beer store in Tulsa, I expect a higher level of beer knowledge and a friendlier attitude. Don't expect more than "yeah, we've got it" or "No we ain't got none of that".
Again, selection is nice, prices are fair, it's just the service that is lacking.

Thank goodness I ignored the very few negative reviews. If you have a problem with this place, please show me your idea of a good store (in Oklahoma) and I'll make a special trip to see it.

Having lived in Belgium for two years, this store somewhat reminded me of the rural Belgian beer stores: Pallets of beer to buy in bulk on the floors, as well as shelves with singles and 4- and 6-packs.

The smaller shelf has the make-your-own 6-packs with some decent options, but I did most of my buying from the other shelf that breaks down the beer by region. Very good selection of Belgians — came home with a few different offerings from Dupont, a couple Flemish Reds (Strubbe's and Duchesse), plus two cases of Leffe for a friend who drinks the sh!t out of that stuff. Also bought some bottles from Boulevard, Great Divide, Mikkeller, plus some stuff from a couple of OK breweries I've wanted to try (Choc and Coop).

The staff was friendly while I shopped. At checkout they boxed up everything and loaded up my car for me. Since I spent nearly $400, that was a lot of loading.

*Now, for the customer service story: I dropped by this store on my way home to Memphis, TN after visiting a friend near Tulsa. When I got home (7 hours later), I realized that somehow I didn't make it home with a 4-pack of Kwak. I called the store, and the guy who answered it was the guy who loaded up my car. Told him about the missing beers, and the guy didn't question me or anything. He apologized, and since I live so far away and it will be a long time before I'm back, he promised to ship me that 4-pack and pay for the shipping out of his own pocket.

It's one thing to have good selection; it's quite another to have staff that understands the value of a customer and making sure they're satisfied. I just wish Memphis was a lot closer to this store; I'd be a regular for sure.

So this is supposed to be the best beer selection in Tulsa and even all of Oklahoma, right?

I read some reviews here on BA and didn't want to miss this store... there I went with the wife and the brother-in-law before we all flew out of Tulsa.

Located in a strip mall next to the State Fair grounds and a bunch of stores, Collins Midtown Liquor is much smaller than I thought. The other stores I've been to in the Tulsa area (Parkhill, Owasso Liquor&Wine) are much bigger!

A bunch of beer sitting on pallets on the floor, rather haphazardly. One shelf on the back and one-half of a shelf by the entrance plus the floor beer, that is it. The best beer selection in OK for you. Seriously.

It is cool that they divide the beer in regions (Belgium, Germany, California, Colorado, West Coast) but it is not so cool that their selection is not quite something to write home about.

They do have some East Coast selections I have not seen anywhere else in Tulsa, like Sea Dog and Shipyard from Maine and Ommegang from New York. But other than that... nothing here really excited me.

Good selection of Boulevard Smokestack bombers, including the 2012 Imperial Stout, which I bought and loved. More bombers by the register: Great Divide Oak-Aged Yeti and Espresso Yeti.

Also a good representation of locals, including Choc, Battered Boar, Marshall and the rare Arbor Imperial Stout from Redbud Brewing.

They have no prices marked, and when you ask they'll give you a vague excuse about "fluctuating prices" and some other Royal BS. But I do appreciate their shelf talkers with info on hops and flavors.

Service was non-existent to mediocre. I'm fine not having a beer guy accosting me, but how about speeding up the line at the register? Long line there, and this girl yelling at another employee to come over so that "I can get my stuff done".

Weird. Underwhelming. Best beer store in OK? Not even close.

Midtown, "The Mecca," is by far my favorite place to shop hands down in the Tulsa area. Selection is outstanding and knowledge of products are equally great. Nice friendly service that I don't get from a lot of other stores. Most the time I don't even get eye contact when I enter a bottle shop. The staff is always eager to help with a decision or pricing.

One thing that I truly love is the price sheets around the store. This makes for easy choosing for those who hate to ask questions while shopping.

The mix a six selection is the best I have seen and a steal as far as pricing. I enjoy it when I enter a store with more beer than liquor or wine. Although, they do have a great selection of vino as well.

The place I frequent the most and not because its the best location for me.

Stopped by right at opening time (10am by Oklahoma law).

If you are passing through Oklahoma, this is a must-make stop. Did a random sampling of places in Oklahoma and selected Midtown by serendipity, BA review rating, and proximity to the highway. Thank you BA reviewers!

Grey steel shelves lined row after row of really fresh and highly desired brands and styles. Highlights include:

** Great local beer selection. What I remember from Oklahoma: Battered Boar, Coop Ale Works, Huebert, Krebs/Choc, Marshall, Redbud

** Great regional beer selection -- TallGrass from Kansas was the real exciting find for me. Freestate as well. Texas and Missouri beers, Colorado, and Arkansas.

** Oregon and California beers not available in Texas or Missouri (the two adjoining states where my travels were taking me), or home in Indiana

** Numerous rare and new (to me) Belgian beers

** An entire shelf of rice beer, one of gluten-free beer, and large selection of organic beers for those interested.

** Fair pricing

More details:
- Arranged by region/country of origin, then by style, so it may take a moment to get used to the fact that all the AIPAs are together, all the IIPAs, pale ales, and the lagers, etc.

- Helpful shelf tags have hop/bitterness range and dark/light to make sure your new brew is at least something like what you were expecting.

- Great make-a-six selection: numerous beers I have been curious about and able to try with minimal risk (6 for ~$8.50).

- Prices are posted on blue printouts attached to each shelf unit. My guess is the stock moves too fast to price each sixer.

- Helpful board with recent and upcoming arrivals. All excellent and interesting!

In town for the NCAA BBall tourney I swung by Midtown to check their local beer selection. Wow, great selection of not only local beers but several national brands we can't seem to get in Texas (Caldera, Southampton, Lost Coast, Mad River, etc). I happily loaded up a shopping cart with about 50 singles and bombers as well as a couple sixers. Clerk was very friendly and knowledgable and even gave me a Boulevard bar towel. They have to comply with Oklahoma's archaic refrigeration laws, but Midtown can't be blamed for that. Prices reasonable. Great place to buy beer!

They have a good selection but the service was awful! I was looking for a 12 pack of Full Sail Session Lager but was only able to find the Session Black Lager. So I asked if they had it. The cashier said "it's over there somewhere, you'll just have to look". I never found it. Very little in this store is priced, only the items in display areas were priced. On the bright side they have a decent selection for the mixed six packs which go for $8.48. and they do sell the small belgians as singles which the other store I visited did not. Basically the only reson to go here is for the mixed six, or belgiam (small bottle) singles.

They have basically anything and everything that is available in the area and Carter is always fighting for new beers. He has a one of the best selections on his pick a six and his prices rival anyone in Tulsa.

He has a great Belgium selection as well as seasonals.

Hands down the best selection of beer in the Tulsa area. I stop in at least a couple times a month to what new beers are in. If it's available in Oklahoma it's here. Midtown also has the largest "pick six" section in Tulsa and it is always updated with new beers. My only ding is that I have ran into a couple stale beers lately but its a small price to pay for the large number of selections available. The staff is always helpful and available to answer any questions. If you are a beer lover in Oklahoma you must try shopping here.
