I wish I could rate it lower. This is an abomination. It smells rancid, looks like old tea and tastes even worse. I’ll describe it this way, iniatially sour and watery, then, a putrid medicinal concentrated old bandaid flavor hits you. It’s one of the most awful flavors I’ve ever experienced. No way this should be rated as high as it is. I love a good Hefeweizen or Dunkel but this is neither. Avoid at all cost.

Poured from a 16.9 oz. bottle into a Sam Adams glass. Poured a rich brownish red with lots of foam. Crisp, very fruity, with a slight sour aftertaste. This beer tasted like one of my homebrews. Very good.

Poured from the bottle into a curved wheat ale glass.

Chestnut and mahogany brown body color, with a bit of a muddy hue but not in consistency or showing haze. Head is a creamy rich lather, frothing up an easy three fingers with stuck lacing and a soft light tanned top. Sits like a big ice cream cone, and settles with a half finger top and hand grabbing sheets of lace. Beautiful looker in this glass.

Mild sensing milk chocolate notes, even a bit of hazelnut is on the nose as well. The aroma is a bit wet and light, maybe hinting at some mineral tones as well. Doesn't seem to have a big classic malt density or backbone hint, but has a great chocolate angle. Solid.

Palate doesn't bring much surprises. Light sensing milk chocolate with a simple malt depth. Flavors of nutty almost nougat too kick in which is very nice, but take a simpler seat to a lighter almost hint of wet mouthfeel. Some banana estery notes are also evident on the palate, subtle and soft and make a good compliment to the chocolate tones.

Refreshing dunkel, and easy drinker as well.

Taken from notes of a sample from 6/10/15

Amazingly clean feel and vibe.
Big wheat, banana, clove and other earthy effects for both aroma and flavor.
Wheat malt, earthy tones and grains dominate but still, so clean.
Malt is light feeling but complex, sour / fruity yeasts round it out.
Very nice classic style.
