Poured from 500mL bottle into a weizen glass.

Appearance: light but rich silvery-golden hue with a good haze and plenty of effervescence. Head is three fingers of pillowy white foam. Quite nice.

Smell: rich, sweet wheaty aroma with tones of clove. The balanced aroma of an authentic hefeweizen.

Taste: malty, wheaty taste which is clean and refreshing. The yeast contribution to this beer leans much more to the clove than the banana, which in this case works quite nicely. It's a balanced and tasty brew.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and a smooth creaminess. The wheat in this beer makes for just a great texture.

Overall: a tasty, satisfying and refreshing hefeweizen. Earthy and fresh, I could drink tons of this stuff.

This beer poured a HUGE white head, with a cloudy translucent yellow body. Highly highly carbonated. It took me several mintues to be able to pour it all into my weis glass.

The nose was a lovely mix of bananna, pears, apples, clove, yeast, some phenols and other spices. Basically a classic german weis.

The taste was very smooth. Highly carbonated. A light bananna flavor balanced nicely against a bitterness. Earthy with a slight citrus peel taste. A little tannic. Sweet. Actually for a weis it tended to be a little more bitter than I'm used to, but it was still very smooth and never once became overpowering.

It ended with a long sweet fruit tannic bitter finish.

Overall just a great example of a classic german weis beer.

500ml bottle poured into a weizen glass
A: Yellow/golden wheat color with a tall three+ finger head that slowly settles; lots of carbonation.
S: Clove and banana.
T: Lots and lots of creamy banana. Probably the most banana I've ever experienced on a beer.
M: Light-bodied and creamy.
O: A solid, refreshing example of the style. Not overly complex but as often as not that's a good thing, nice to sip a simple yet tasty beer.

Poured from a 1pt .9oz Euro style bottle into a weiss glass.

A - Hazy yellow color with slight orange hues. Pour produced a big head of white foam. Good carbonation and slight sediment also detected.

S - Bready/yeasty with slight hints of clove, bananna and citrus.

T - Bready and slightly must with faint hints of bananna and spice. Finishes with the slightest touch of hop/citric bitterness.

MF&D - Overall a quality brew. I'd drink this one again.

Bottle into a pint. Hefe's are my favorite type of brew; this one stands tall with the best of them.

A-Cloudy orange-ish gold. Thick, long lasting head that rises above the rim of the glass. This is the way all beers of this style should look... beautiful.

S-Doughy, bananas, a bit of citrus.

T-Wheat, bananas, citrus, and some cloves and spices. Nothing out of the ordinary, but very tasty.

M-Creamy with a very slight bite from the subtle carbonation and spices.

D-Goes down smooth. I could drink this style for the rest of my life.

I'd say this is in my top 5 favorite hefeweizens, with Weihenstephaner at the top.

A very solid Hefe that looks the part and tastes just fine. From the murky yellow body to the substantial white topping the look is solidly wheat and this is repeated in the fruity and spicy aroma with hints of banana popping through. The flavor is fruity and spicy with clovishness throughout the flavor spectrum. Good mouthfeel with a decent finish. Easily a most drinkable brew.

500ml bottle poured into a pint glass. Best before the end of May 2011.

A: Cloudy light orange body. Big fluffy head leaves a bit of lacing.

S: Yeast and citrus.

T: Mainly cloves and yeast. Also citrus and banana.

M: On the heavy side of light, if that makes any sense. Pretty creamy.

D: A solid Bavarian hefe. Nothing more, nothing less.

Pours a cloudy copper gold with a fluffy head.

There is a doughy yeasty aroma that mingles with a robust fruit element.

A cider flavor mingles with yeast and citrus to create a unique taste that is unlike any other weisse I have ever had.

Thin and infinitely drinkable. There is a reason why the Germans call these breakfast beers--they are light, smooth and very refreshing and easy to drink.

I like this beer alot and cannot wait to try to Dunkel.
