pours a golden blonde that is just perfect in the cloudiness. The head is tinted in gold thick with larger than average bubbles that has started to slowly collapse shaped like a volcano. The head is long lasted. the taste is smooth hops with a citrus finish that again reveals just a hint of hops. Excellent quality here. Delicious.

Served in a 500ml bottle. Poured a light golden honey with a decent head. I love the smell of wheat beers and this one has a great smell. The mouthfeel was excellent and the taste was exceptional. This is one of my favorite beers and will continue to be a big player in my bar fridge. Highly recommend.

Pours a hazy golden color with a thick creamy and rocky white head. Nose is fruity with strong scents of clove. Tastes of lemon, vanilla, and clove. Banana flavors are more mild than in most Hefes. Not the best Hefe I’ve tried but still very nice, and at $2.29 for a pint, it’s reasonably priced.

Muddy orange bodied with a creamy ivory head.
Banana bread, slight clove and wheat on the nose.
Like drinking banana bread batter. The banana flavor is not as pronounced or as forced as many other hefeweizen. Soothed out with the doughy/bready qualities. JE is just so well rounded. Spiciness is low but sufficient. Touchs of clove and a good amount of vanilla.
Body is supurb. Light but solid, creamy and delicate. Just perfect. Makes drinking this an absolute pleasure.
Top of the heap.

Dominant fruity aroma, a little pineapple and other tropical impressions. Hazy yellow with a very thick head. German Wheats are not really my thing. This would have been good on the porch on a hot summer day but I just don't enjoy them with food, they don't seem to cut through very well.

Turbid yellow hue from suspended yeast and protein haze. Creamy, soft peak whipped white head settles very slowly. The aroma is a combination of banana esters and light yeast must lending ripe fruitiness upfront, while mild caramel sweetness malt and clean graininess round it out. A initial dart of wheat tartness is ensued by a smooth waft of banana esters and caramel sweetness. Proteinaceous and creamy in mouthfeel, yet pleasantly light in body. Mild hop bitterness and trace clove provide contrast to the sweetish banana esters mid palate, then the brew finishes with light residual sweetness and a hint of breadiness. Julius Echter is a very well rounded and enjoyable hefeweizen. It's soft all around on the palate but not understated. Very refreshing.

Great head, lasted to the very end. Bananas, cloves, yeast and wheat are all very well balanced in this enjoyable brew. A classic hefe that went down swimminlgy last night in the 90 degree heat.

Perfectly cloudy golden to pale orange color. Huge foamy rich creamy head, stayed long and strong. Nice rich yeasty smell combined with the usual banana, clove, and slight citrus smells. Unbelievably balanced taste of delicious yeast goodness on top, then subtle bananas, clove, then a crisp clean citrus finish. Faint malty taste underneath it all. Medium bodied, exceptional tasting hefe-weiss, pairs well with spicy food, or alone as a thirst quencher.

Handsome hazy golden with thick white head, lots of yeast in the nose. Abundant wheat immediately quenches thirst, malts add a warm sweetness, and the hops add a tartness to the finish which still maintains the sweetness, drawn out nicely so you crave another sip. A solid basic hefe, with lively characteristics that keeps flavor dancing on your tongue. This is not as adventuresome as some others, and almost a little watery, but it is consistent and very satisfying. If you are still drinking your hefes out of a regular old pint glass, do yourself a favor and invest in a tall weissbier glass; your appreciation of the beer will double.

Really enjoyable heffeweiss. Terrific sweet, round flavor, just enough spice and a lingering, if small, head. I really like hefe-weiss with mexican and tex-mex food. The sweet, creaminess plays well with bold, spicey food.

Nice bier...would like to do a side-by-side with Paulaner... Cloudy golden/orangey color....I made sure to swirl the bottle up to get the yeasties....gave a creamy, but small, head (which did last a while). Clove, banana, a bit of citrus in the nose. Verry nice taste....combo of the above flavors with a hint of malt...nice blend. Quite decent body and smoothness. Goes down well on a warm Spring (or Summer...) day! Prosit!

The head on this hazy-orange seducer towered above my pilsener glass at least an inch without letting go one delightful drop of hefeweiss. Lemony nose. More clove-like in taste with a somewhat clinging tart finish. Not the best hefe but, in the end, as drinkable as most.

Presentation: Sleek 16 oz brown euro style bottle, no freshness date.

Appearance: With this sample the yeast was swirled and decanted into the glass. Very cloudy pale orange with a creamy white lace.

Smell: Soft oily clove on the nose, fruity and lively with hints of earthy yeast.

Taste: Medium bodied that is meshed well with a marvelously textured mouth feel. Light lemon twang with a very evident snappy spicy clove are followed by warming fruity esters and a fresh baked cracker malt flavour. Hop bitterness is nearly non-existent which is perfect for the style. An earthy yeast character picks up the finish and lends a nutty flavour.

Notes: A little robust and lively, a hard Hefeweizen to beat. Goes really well with a smoked ham and havarti with spicy mustard on marbled rye … a.k.a. a great lunch time brew.
