This is a live review of this beer. I am sitting here drinking it as we spe...er type.

My first impression of this beer must have been tainted because i remember it tasting stronger and livelier than this one does tonight. I also had the dunkel when i tried this beer so im thinking that screwed up my buds.

It is definetly a nice smooth taste, very citrusy. The smell is very citruscy as well with a bit of tartness that does not translate into the taste as much. The citrus/hops taste definetly hits you more in the back of your jaw as you sit and just let it sink into your palate(spelled that 4 times til i looked it up!)

It poured a very cloudy(thats a plus in my book!) very light orange to yellow/goldish color. The head was around 1 finger but dissolved quickly. (i am not a head drinker)

It sits in your mouth a bit watery, hence my avg score in the mouthfeel. Some hefe's are a bit overthick but this ones got nothing to it.

Overall a "good" hefe but not the GREAT hefe i remembered from 2 weeks ago so i don't think ill be searching it out again at 11 buck for a 4 pack of 16oz bottles. But if its around and i'm in the mood, i'd definetly buy again.

App: light orange in color, but almost completely opaque.

Smell: milder hefe, wheat, smell compared to most hefe weiss beers.

Taste: Similar to the smell, it doesn't have the "balls" of some of the other hefe's that I have had. It is almost too orange, not enough wheaty.

Mouthfeel: Read, above, lacks kick of other hefes

Drinkabillity: Easy, but not my taste because it is too citrusy.

Not as good as other Hefe's, but it is still solid.

I had a bottle of this at Kuma's Corner at in Chicago, and it wasn't a beer I was familiar with, yet I really enjoyed it despite not being a huge fan of the style.

This beer was a bit reminiscent to me of the Hacker-Pschorr Hefe, but with half the cloviness, but with the balance made up for with some fruitiness that the Hacker-Pschorr lacks. This beer also doesn't seem as heavy as the Hacker-Pschorr, which I liked.

It's a hazy gold, with a touch of red and lots of head. Aroma is a bit of spice, but not overpowering. Flavor is as I've described above.

I thought this beer to be quite solid.

Best before August 11th, 2007...
Appears a hazy, light gold with a thick white head of foam that slowly fades out. Tons of scattered lacing is left with each passing sip.
Smell is yeasty, tart wheat, bananas, mild cloves, light citrus, and vanilla cream.
Taste mimics the aroma with a light tartness and pungency that reminds me of a vinegar base for sauerbraten, which I'm sure this would go nicely with.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, estery, with pineapple citrus lingering.

Pours fairly clear for a hefe, with an unpleasant yellowish tint in the body and an exquisitely thick, creamy, bone-white head. The aroma is a bit flat and tired, especially by the lofty standards of the style. What is has are some blunt banana notes and a tad of spice, but no citrus elements or any apparent malt character. On the palate, some acidity first off, accompanied by a bit of lemon flavor and a weak banana finish. The middle is pretty flat and uninspired. Most of the element of this beer are tuned down from normal hefe standards. A middling effort, at least compared to the stellar beers in its category.

Pours bronze with 4+ fingers of fluffed up cream colored head. Good head retention & average lacing

S: Band aids & a little fruittyness

T: Band aids& fruittyness, plus a little bit of salty taste up front. Lemony hops, tartness & a little banana & cloves shows up as this warms. Finishes tart, peppery (almost rye-like) with juicy-fruit gum & a little grapefruitty hops

MF: Light bodied, medium carbonation & little slickness

Drinks easy, a real nice hefe to session on, nothing earth-shattering here, but solid none the less

From the 16oz bottle marked “Best Before Jan 08 2008.” Consumed on 8/2/07. Into my Sam Adam’s glass (thanks guys!), it’s a pale, slightly hazed yellowish color with a small bit of carbonation coming up. Big, fluffy white head fades slowly leaving a thick cap and scads of lacing. Nose of mellow cloves, wheat and a touch of citrus hops. Tastes along the same vein: light wheat with coriander and clove. Mouth is middle-thin with nice mild carbonation; it’s smooth and refreshing on the palate. Drinkability is very good. This is one tasty and smooth brew.

Overall: A very good hefe, everything that the style should represent. It’s mild and refreshing without sacrificing flavor. I’d definitely buy more of these. Recommended.

[Doh! Duplicate review, hate that!]

Love those Hefe so I had to try this one. Was not disappointed.

A - Golden bronze with a fluffy head that leaves scattered but significant lacing. Not a large amount of yeast but what is there settles out slowly.

S - As one would expect - floral and banana and lemon dominate. Pleasant to the nose. Fresh.

T - Solid flavor is a nice surprise. Sweetish with a lemon finish. As it warms, fuller flavors appear. Spicy but still sweet. Over all a great taste.

M - Pleasant feel. Not too heavy. Slight carbonation and yeastly as expected in this type.

D - Very. Enjoyable in all categories. Wonderful as a refresher on a hot day.

Recommended by a friend who likes his hefes. Pours your usual cloudy straw gold with a tremendous head with great retention. Aroma is full of yeasty goodness, bananas and a peppery earthy malt. Taste is refreshing with biscuity malt and banana bread with a nice peppery bite at the end. As with most hefes, extremely drinkable, a perfect session beer and another fine example of the style from a German brewery.

50cl bottle poured into my Paulaner Weissbier glass

A - Hazy pale golden body, with the thickest ice-creamiest 4 finger head i have ever seen. Super brussels lacing on the glass throughout.

S - lots of clove and blueberries, bubblegum, bananas, lemons, fresh grass.

T - very citrusy and zesty. lots of cloves, banana not so apparent. Fresh subtle, no flavour really dominates, light and easy to drink.

M - i would describe this as light, not watery, but not complex or too flavoursome either. spritzy carbonation.

D - A very enjoyable easy going hefe. Definitely not the best i have, perhaps too cirtrussy, although very refreshing and one i would have again.

A - Dusty hazy bronze-gold brew with a big fluffy four finger ice-cream cone head. Some big snotty strands of yeast are floating in the brew, and slowly settle to the bottom of the glass. Big 'ol sheets of lace are left on the sides of my big ass weizen glass.

S - Clove, banana, lemon-pepper seasoning, and bubble gum. Some really fresh floral aromas come out as it warms...like a flower garden in the spring. For some reason, reminds me of chick shampoo.

T - Yeastier than the nose. A little bit sweet-tartish at first with some lemon juice wheat twang. Subtler spicy notes come out as it warms along with some bubble gum and banana taffy. The finish is pretty clean and round, with some sweet notes still playing around on the tongue.

M - Medium bodied with really nice finely bubbled and subtle carbonation and a dusty yeasty feel towards the finish.

D - A classic and well done hefe that is extremely drinkable and very interesting. A great springtime brew....I love the floral notes, and I could quaff this all day...in fact, I AM quaffing this all day!

Look: 3 finger deep head, frothy and bubbly like sea-foam which is created by big carbonation that sustains well over a hazy-honey-blonde color. The head eventually dissipted to a constant 1/4' covering that remained.

nose: rich and sour-yeast with mellow malt, olives, fresh garden greens, herbal, wheatie with a light hop effect.

Taste: Semi-sweet malt, sour yeast upfront with an herbal hop, wheat, underneath a rather agressive yeast flavor. The flavor matures from herbal and yeastie to sweet malt at the end.

Feel: Oh boy, does this one ever feel GOOD...this is light body that feels medium bodied with a great smooth effect, light but creamy. NICE.

DA: all day long.

A great beer from Wurzburg. I feel the town itself is under rated. Full of great beer bars and this is available everywhere in town. Even in the ice-cream shops. It is the local beer and the people are proud as they should be.

Appearance: Light gold with a thick head once it is poured.

Smell: Very fruity, sweet with some yeast tones.

Taste: Strong banana and citrus flavors. Very typical of a Weiss bier from Bavaria. It represents Franconia and the city well.

Mouthfeel: Highly Carbonated.

Drinkability: Smooth and Superior

Pours an opaque straw color with obvious carbonation and a big fluffy head that settles only somewhat.

Nose is incredible, banana, LOTS os spice esters, lemon rind and some fresh baked bread. Smells delicious.

Taste is lightly sweet up front with a CO2 whallop, flavor is banana and clove spiciness with some lemony zest. Touch of bitterness on the end, just barely. Tastes great and refreshes!

Mouthfeel is spot-on for the style. Light, slightly sweet-ish up front, cleans itself off with the CO2. Excellent brew, easily session-worthy, and excellent for a spring day just after getting home from work. Would also be terrific in the morning with some Weisswurst.

Overall another great Weissbier from Julius Echter. They make probably the best available in my area; this stuff is great.

One of my first ever hefes, so my review is a tad simple but anyway..."A good golden-orange german beer that is very drinkable. Good taste and an absolutely GORGEOUS head..., not a bad brew at all! " the price is also quite good, under 3 bucks for a bottle!

Poured into weizen glass.

Pours clouded golden with a towering head that slowly descends to a rocky head, then eventually settles to a lasting cover.

The smell is of banana, mint and hints of toffee.

The taste is banana with a toffee and cherry-like sweetness. Sweetness balanced by wheat crispness. Very smooth, tasty and refreshing.

The feel is light, smooth and refreshingly dry with a very nice texture.

More than a typical banana/clove HW. Unique but clearly in-style. One of the best of style that I've had.

Pours cloudy pale gold with a traditional egg-white three finger foam collar. This looks just dandy!

Nose is Bavarian banana combined with Topps trading card bubblegum. This is one wonderful yeast strain.

Entry is wiezen-smooth leading to a sweet, citrus/spicy midtaste which seems miles away from its American counterparts. The finish is banana heavy with a nice clove counterpoint.

This brew is now my new go-to hefe-weisse when weaning folks away from timid American counterparts...

Poured a hazy dirty pale orange color, with a nice white head that dissipated to a small cap that left some spot lacing. The smell is of clove, a bit buttery, not very distinct a bit disappointing. The taste doesn't blow me away either. It has a creamy clove taste, tones of bubblegum, no detectable banana taste. The mouthfeel is typical hefe, creamy, smooth, a bit more carbonated than others. This is a very drinkable hefe just not the best that I have had.

This is a really nice, clean, crisp beer. Great head on the pour. Smells of wheat and sour banana. Maybe some type of cherry or plum mixed in as well. Medium bodied, pours a clean strawberry color. Many can be drank in 1 session. Great summer brew although I'm drinking it in December. Beautiful lacing down the glass and a classic wurzburger beer.

This was an unfiltered golden hued weisse presented in a large euro style bottle. The haze remains long after the pour. Large foamy head

It smelled soft and fruity, not overwhelming smell but I would definetly not say there were "hints" of anyhting.

It tasted how a weisse should taste. No bitter hops taste, soft but with enough body to retain the taste of the yeast in your mouth long after finishing. Incredibly drinkable, but meant to be enjoyed

Been looking for this one since I enjoyed the Echter Dunkel Weiss last month. Pours a cloudy golden color with small chunks of sediment in the body.Head and lacing are light, fluffy, and sticky, as well as being copious. Nose is somewhat more muted than I was hoping for. Traditional banana and clove are there, but also a tart citrus to match the sweet sugar and light wheat tones.

Big wheat flavor and very refreshing. Mouthfeel is a little bubbly for me but not a huge drawback. Finishes very clean for a hefe with little residual aftertaste, which is good and bad. Not quite up there with the Ayinger and Weihenstephaner offerings but not a total disappointment either.

Pours a cloudy orange with fluffy and thick white head that becomes lumpy after left for a while. Thin lees left behind on bottom of bottle.

Smells of ripe yellow pear with a hint of mango yeast.

Chewy pear jumps right onto your tongue, so much citrus going on here. Spicy yeast flavor accompanied by orange, lemon, and grapefruit.

A great hefeweizen and one of my all time favorites. I can drink this beer on any occasion. A must try.

Pours a cloudy golden orange into a weizen glass. Comes with an off-white head that won't quit, solid lacing throughout.

Fruity yeast aromas are dominant with wheat like malt aromas in the background.

Sweet and clean taste from the yeast, but of a "citrusy" sour taste. Light clove taste is also available.

Light carbonation with a medium body, although it has a thick consistency.

A decent hefe-weizen. Be sure not to turn this one down.

This was poured from a tap. Left a large classic h-w head, that had good retention, and left some slight lacing. Body was a cloudy pale yellow. Looks almost perfect.

Smell - cloves, bananas, creamy wheat, all filling the nose, and very mouthwatering.

Taste - same as the smell. Very fully robust, and yet mellow at the same time, tastes of cloves, bananas, and creamy wheat. Very straightfoward and solid, a spicy, fruity (banana-y), creamy h-w all the way. Love it.

Mouthfeel - full, and creamy.

Drinkability - this is good, goes down well, and is very sessionable. Most satisfying on a very hot day.
