Growler purchased from brewery. Pours light amber into a tall pilsner glass. Frothy, off-white head that disappears quickly. A touch light in color for style. Smells pleasantly sweet.

Sweet grains complimented by earthy and slightly spicy hops. Toasty bread notes. Slight metallic, earthy taste in the finish but it helps cut through the caramel sweetness. Light to medium-bodied and really wonderful to bridge the summer to fall.

Really easy to drink, this is a solid Oktoberfest. Given that some of the Oktoberfests from Germany arrive a bit later and maybe a touch on the exposed side, this is a refreshing alternative and fairly true to style. Great match for pepperoni pizza.

Barely any head upon pouring into a pint glass. A very light amber color.

Aroma is a mixture of bready malt and hops.

Up front, the taste is sweet, with a bit of caramel. Par for the course for a fest. In the back of the mouth there is a distinct hop presence. Slightly hoppier than some examples of the style.

Light and extremely drinkable.

A fine example of the style and a perfect to easily drink a few.

Good Oktoberfest, probably would have been better if I drank it a month or two ago.

Pours a clear amber color with a nice big off white head. Retention is good and lacing is thick. The smell is malty, not particularly strong.

Tastes good. A nice malty marzen with a little hops bitterness at the end.

Mouthfeel is crisp and light, plenty rich enough for a Marzen

Drinkability is good as well. Good looking beer, tastes good, inviting mouthfeel. Not as good as Legend Oktoberfest, but still a good Virginia take on a German style.

Appearance: Golden brown with a short white head that fades before I can put the bottle down. Decent transparency...just a bit hazy.

Aroma: A hint of caramel and a distinct but faint spicy hop aroma. It smells clean.

Taste: I get that distinctive crisp "lager flavor" with a hint of sweet bread flavor. In the end there is a tea-like earthy presence and similar tea-like bitterness. A bit of toasty flavor at the end as well.

Mouthfeel: It is very light and refreshing. Low in both bitterness and carbonation, and low presence on the palate overall.

Overall: It seems like this would be a good go-to Oktoberfest. It is very easy to drink and would be great for any kind of party or get together where you want to have a few beers and not fall over. I recommend picking it up and trying it out. If you like Oktoberfest style beers you would probably enjoy it. It's not an over-the-top beer...it's very mellow and laid back because it's an Oktoberfest beer.

Thanks Henry.
This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a ruddy burnt orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. Light stringy lacing.
The smell had some rich nutty malts flowing crisp and sweet over light caramel and toffee malts. Smells real nice.
The taste was semi-sweet with an earthy to grassy sweet back up.
The mouthfeel was about a light to medium in body with a slight sessionable sticky sweetness to it. Carbonation runs light.
Overall, as an Oktoberfest made by an American brewer, its not bad but I think I'd go for some others of the style before this one.

12oz bottle served in a sam adams perfect pint glass. No dating on the bottle.

A- pours a light amber with a decent but controlled head. Good clarity.

S- smells of carmel with a healthy backbone of roasted malts.

T- caramel with some brown sugar, but lacking that clean maltiness.

M- on par with the style, slightly thin, but still with some body. Carbonation seems fine.

O- overall a nice local brew. Tasty, but not as clean as I'd prefer for the style. Well done though - this should rate well with some and fine with most.

Poured a orangish gold with decent head that left quick with minimal lace. Had a slightly grainy, earthy hop and pils malt aroma but also had some nice sweetness tucked into the aroma as well. Smooth, easy to drink, not to sharp or grainy, crisp finish. Taste is like the aroma in that there's a mild presence, balanced mind you, of minor citrusy hops and some bready and sweet (caramel) malts. Not the most flavorful beer but it does the trick as it has a nice taste and could easily be a session if you are looking forward to getting tanked at an Oktoberfest event.

Draught @ Busch Gardens: This one pours a clear amber color. There was almost no head or lacing on mine. The aroma is lighter but nice. Mainly caramel malt and earthy hops. the taste is OK. Caramel, earthy, slight sweetness. Smooth. Not bad, but still a bit mediocre.
