This was the first of three times where I wholly by accident happened upon a great beer bar in Stockholm.

The instances are very few and far between when I am confronted with beers I have never heard of. Though, admittedly, I am not working so hard at keeping up to date anymore. But having to ask where an American brewery is from while I am at a Swedish bar is...amusing. The load of beers in the three coolers is intense in spots. There are heavy hitters such as Lost Abbey, Mikkeller, Beer Here, Närke (yep...they have THEM), and many, many others. I would have personally enjoyed a greater selection of Swedish draft beers than the 3 or 4 they had on, but what they had on was nice. Närke Örebro Bitter, Nils Oscar Hop Yard, and a couple others. Service was okay. One guy running the whole place, which seems a lot to handle, so I think he was in the mode to handle a lot of business at once. He did, without solicitation, offer much appreciated information about something I ordered. Food was nice. Not sure if the other locations are bringing such a heavy list, but judging on this, it's at least worth taking a look to see.

This is one of handful of locations of The Bishops Arms in Stockholm, it seems there is half a dozen or so. They all seem to have a similar outside facade, and interior likely similar as well, which is kind of similar to The Ginger Man (various U.S. locations). Think lots of wood and dim lighting.

It is a big space with plenty of tables and then a fair amount of space at the bar. For taps, they had 20ish from what I remember, with a lot of Swedish, some Danish and I recall a De Molen too. Meanwhile, their bottle list was impressive, with a good representation of Scandinavian beer, but a lot of U.S. craft beer including hard to get things like FFF Behemoth, Dark Lord, among others. Their service was very good, attentive and friendly from a knowledgeable staff. It is a bit pricey, but this is Stockholm, so surprises in that respect. Would recommend anyone to stop in for a beer.
