L- Deeper gold, mid amber, clear, thin head clears swiftly.
S- Grains and some dough.
T- I was not 'travelling with great hope' here but had an open mind. Something isn't quite right, is it in the malts? ...
F- A little over-rich. Lacks finesse.
O- No, this isn't for me. It's 'an Eastern EU 'Super'' and it's pretty crass, blunt, poorly/cheaply constructed and perhaps fine for getting stonked on, otherwise... nope.
Bought from a convenience shop, Oksa Quality Food, 117 Clarendon Road, in London W11. £1.30/500ml can BB: '10/11/20 18:14' Perhaps it suddenly goes off at 1/4 past six... first time I've seen hours/mins on an expiry.

Poured from can into glass gave a good head, that swiftly dissipated to a thin film of bubbles. Nice deep gold colour, not unlike some good ciders. Smell: Nothing special, but not bad. A slight metallic tinge to it, probably from it being out of a can. Taste - first thing that hit me was the sweetness. Not unpleasant, but unexpected. This was followed by a pleasing maltiness, that lingers for a while before a light bitterness hits the palette. Certainly does not taste like a 7.6% ABV beer.
Would I have it again? Yes, but it won't be on my favourites list!

Musty, funky malt aroma, like old gym socks. Deep golden body with small white creamy head, lots of carbonation. Taste is initially malt followed by some stinky soft cheese. Finish is mostly yeast, cooked vegetables and funk.

Lots of head that dies down fast, pretty standard amber colour.

Smell is not the best, a little artificial and chemical, and there is a noticeable canned aroma, which I also noticed with the original Perla. Also a bit like burnt raisins or currants. Perhaps it is better from a bottle...

Flavour is much more rich and complex than the original one, and more bitter. During the 20 seconds after a sip, it will morph into new tastes continuously. I can see how some people would really like this, though somehow it does not quite work, there seems to be an underlying chemical, almost chlorinie taste. The carbon dioxide bubbles linger in the mouth, in a kind of a fizzy water bubble way as opposed to a fine champagne.

Overall, this is ok and there are some complex tastes happening, though not one I would buy again, I much prefer Zywiec and Tatra Mocne. It is a complex beer with a complex flavour, though that does not necessary make it pleasurable or addictive, though happy to have given it a try.
