Stumbled upon this small (maybe 30 seats + a patio) craft beer bar on a drive from Portland to San Diego. Stopped in on a Wednesday night and the place wasn't all that busy - but the taps were definitely above average and nicely priced. The female bartender was quite knowledgeable of their taps (I overheard that she also works part time at the local BevMo).

I ordered the '09 Bigfoot and '10 Abyss and the total cost for 12oz goblets of each was just $11.

Seemed like the taplist was heavy on Stone but that might have been in preparation for an upcoming event.

20+ taps and another 30 bottles.

Visted this place on 2/27 while up with my friend visiting his dad in Anderson.

The place is really small but very clean. When you walk in you have 2 dart boards. On your direct left forward is a very nice long varnished wood bar with stools. There are seats against the other side of the wall. There are 20ish taps with a pretty intresting selection for its area. The place kind of has a bar type feel to it that had some mid day regulars. 2 Rogue XS taps (one being the 09 Crusty), 09 Bigfoot, Moose Drewl, Valley Brewing special colabo belgian. 2 gas taps, Youngs DCS and Guiness. Everything tasted "clean" and fresh. The bottle selection is average but growing. The owner helped us and was very nice and enjoyed talking to us about beer. He was telling us about an issue he had with a Avery keg and ended up getting a case of Dugana. Pretty cool. Overall a great beer place thats on the right track with the craft movement.

This is a cool little place in a town otherwise absent of good beer. The interior is attractive with tasteful décor. The exterior is dark and unlit, so it can be difficult to find. It is between Subway and Bleachers, which are both lit up like Christmas trees in comparison. The atmosphere is casual, a great place to hang out with friends or a date.

They currently have 20 taps with plans for 5 more. The beer selection is a cross-section of styles, craft beers, and imports, with a bias toward west coast beers, which would be expected in Redding. Some taps are constant regulars, and others are rotated. I had a Racer 5 and a Bigfoot. The lines were clean and the beers were fresh.

The owners are hands-on and friendly. They have good business sense, and are constantly striving to improve their pub. While food is not yet part of the experience, a kitchen is in the plans.

Living in Portland, I may not be able to frequent this place, but I would think those living in the Redding area looking for a solid craft beer alternative should be excited. It is just off I-5 at Cypress Avenue, so if traveling through, it would be a great place to stop. If stranded in Redding waiting for the Siskiyou passes to clear, grab one of many hotels on Hilltop Drive and hang out for the night.

New beer bar in town. Kind of a funny redundant name for a place... but it's definitely worth checking out.

This is in the same building as the old Red White and Brew. But, with a big remodel. Clean and new looking on the inside, a couple of big screens, dart boards, a long bar, and a handful of chairs. There is also a patio out back with chairs. Needs a little more decorations or something. Just looks a little bare and stale right now.

Quality is good. A couple of locals, some others from CA like North Coast and Bear Republic, plus Guinness and Bass. The owner said that he is doubling his tap number soon too. That would be cool.

Service is very good. The owner is a cool guy, and the other help was prompt and friendly as well.

Prices are quite fair. $3.50 a pint.
