On a recent week long trip to Emerald Isle, we stumbled across this place on the second to last day in town. Definitely the best beer selection in town and probably on the whole island. There may be something good down in Atlantic Beach but nothing that we noticed.

It is obviously primarily a wine market but they had a surprisingly good beer selection. The checkout counter is basically an island right inside the front door. There are some beer coolers off to the left along the back wall that we noticed first. All of the wine racks are on the right side of the store but we noticed there are a couple beer shelves and a small cooler along the back wall.

Maybe they just received a shipment but some of selection was hard to see on the bottom shelves because there were boxes of beer stacked up in front of them. The staff there said that we could break up the six packs and buy singles for a mix and match. They had single bottle prices for everything which was nice. We decided to buy a bunch of different things to take to the beach house for an impromptu tasting that evening.

They had beers from local breweries such as Azalea and Duck Rabbit as well as beers from Great Divide, Bell's, etc. We also bought Westmalle, Ayinger, Lindeman's, Southhampton, and Heavy Seas. There were some other German beers and other Belgian beers such as Chimay and Duvel as well. They also had a small selection of glassware.

Definitely above and beyond the convenience store and grocery store selection. A must stop for anyone that wants a variety of beers while on the island. Helpfull staff, nice store and a really good selection. Unfortunately there is no indication of a beer selection from the outside of the store and no mention of it on the website.

I read the reviews here and on other sites prior to coming on vacation and my first stop in was amazing. Glasswear was priced very nicely and a good selection in my opinion and for what I bought the prices seemed to be pretty spot on and for my needs I would go here again but my fiance's mom stopped to get a 6pack of Yuengling and they priced it as individual bottles and not as a 6 pack. The $5 to $6 6pack ended up costing around $10 and that is the price of a 12pack of it in NC... Disappointed in this policy even though it seems great when you are getting a single of a good craft here and there...

Emerald Isle Wine Market is the beer jewel on the island. The staff is very friendly, interested in what their customers want, and genuinely seem to want to serve. They have an amazing selection, for what is essentially a gas-and-go convenience store.

The up scale vacation community of Emerald Isle is fortunate to have a shop like this. There are only a few six-packs of each, but they make up for quantity with several NC breweries, and a wide selection of quality craft beer. This is not your supper store, but you will find some of your favorites and some more difficult to find back home.

Make this a stop, on your trip to the shore, and encourage other small stores to expand their craft beer horizons.
