Vibe: I stopped here for brunch on a Saturday (the only day they're open for breakfast) and it wasn't overly crowded, but there was a nice farmer's market going on outside in their parking lot that included a local country band. The inside of the place was very open and airy with a wood-fired pizza oven.

Quality: Beers were served in a variety of glassware at the proper temperatures.

Service: The wait staff was friendly and made it a point to stop by our table on numerous occasions to check and see how we were doing.

Selection: The place had 16 beers on-tap during my visit in a variety of styles, many of which were from North Carolina breweries. The breweries available on draught included: Birdsong, Burial, Foothills, Founders, Haw River, Highland, Mikkeller, New Belgium, New Sarum, Stone, Southern Pines, Unknown, Wicked Weed.

Food: I tried their eggs with collard greens, cheesy grits and a biscuit for breakfast. It was good old fashioned Southern cooking.

Great place to go to get fresh pizza. They have some great local grown veggies, and local made sausage and cheese. I love having local made stuff. The staff is super friendly! The girls have tattoos, which is cool. I like the vibe in this restaurant.

They have a excellent beer selection, and the staff seems knowledgeable with the different beers they are serving.

Excellent place for brews and killer pizzas. Great, knowledgeable, friendly bar staff. Be sure to tell them that you want a room temperature pint glass or you may end up with a very frosty one.

The 3rd time was the charm for me. Once I understood how things work it was a picture perfect experience. It didn't hurt any that my 3rd trip there was a bottle share with a newer group known as the NC Triad Beer Meetups. One hell of a great time and everyone that works there was very friendly, outgoing, and knowledgeable. Did I mention that they make Killer Pizzas? They have about a dozen taps that are constantly rotating with an excellent selection Abd that have numerous bottles as well. I'll be back time and time again. Cheers from RedNeckBeerz

This is where I have a Foothills Jade every PM. I love this place and the people even more. This neighborhood is very special and the beautiful urban in-fill business locale is a throwback to an earlier time. Greensboro is fortunate to have this thriving remnant of another time be so modern and cool. Sticks and Stones is a neighborhood restaurant that also is a first class neighborhood bar. The pizza is creative and excellent, with fresh local ingredients. Sandwiches are varied and very good. Mostly quiet, unassuming, and real. What more do you want? Completely family friendly and welcoming, Sticks and Stones is a credit to a staff that puts out a great product and backs it up with personality.

The place has a real laid back vibe and is a little "crunchy" - combination of hippie/granola and hipster (I liked the crowd). They were awesome in allowing a bunch of us Triad BAs to most a bottle share here on a day they were not too busy so that definitely scores them a few extra points - they want to be a part of the local beer scene and make efforts to encourage that crowd. The location is great as they are practically across the street from Bestway.

The beers that I ordered on my visits were served in a variety of glassware though not always the glassware I would have chosen for the style (there were shaker pints, snifters, and something that resembled a mason/moonshine jar - none were labeled from any breweries that I saw). The beers were served at a good temperature, with a proper head, and tasted fresh (so either they were recently tapped kegs and/or the lines are cleaned frequently).

The waitstaff and bartenders were both friendly and attentive - they were quick to make sure that we had anything we needed (including tasting glasses and water since we were conducting a bottle share on my second visit to this place). I did not have any questions for the staff on the beers because I was familiar with the options available on tap and in bottles/cans.

The selection of beers was not enormous though they seemed to have a better number of options available in cans/bottles in the two cooler cases than the number of taps. The taps were good and featured a fair amount of local NC options.

From a food perspective, the pizzas are upscale/gourmet creations that use a lot of different local NC ingredients and are really quite delicious. I enjoyed mine as did everyone else at the table that I spoke with (and this was a fairly large group). Two folks at the table did have complaints when they ordered the rosemary garlic fries that they were so salty they were inedible but the waitress quickly took them back and brought out new ones that were not so salty.

I thought the prices for both the food and the beers were quite reasonable.

Sticks and Stones is one of those laid-back gnarly little spots you hope to find on any trip out of town. And how lucky we are in Greensboro to have such a place tucked away right here. One where you can relax, enjoy interesting, out of the ordinary food that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, with the added bonus of some excellent craft beer selections. The atmosphere is great and fits the concept quite well. I have been here frequently with never a bad experience. BTW, menu items, besides being organic and locally sourced, are ALL named after songs by Ryan Adams, a North Carolina native Grammy nominee. Wonder if he's ever stopped by...?

We were in the mood for some pizza, so this was the place to hit in the area. It is located on an intersection that has three restaurants on each corner, but the whole area is really residential. Smallish parking lot, but the strange thing was the old bicycles that were used for the railing between the parking and outside eating areas. Inside there is a nice fish tank when you walk in, and to the left you see numerous tables for dining. The bar is smallish, as only about 8-10 people can sit there. The large glass windows in the front provides loads of natural light. There is a glass refridgerator with bottles along the one wall.

There were 15 beers on tap here which all were local beers which was nice. Several beers from Foothills, Highland, and Natty Green's, with some single beers from Lonerider, Green Man, and Mother Earth. The few pints I had were fresh and of a good quality.

The pizzas we had were all very good. They all had unique strange names, but the ingredients were of good quality. Service was solid and friendly.

Overall a very enjoyable experience and we left satisfied. We will be back next time we are in town.

I really enjoyed Sticks and bones. It is set in an older residential area and it appeared to have a lot of locals in even though it was a Monday night. This is not a fancy place but it does make you feel comfortable. They had a very good selection of NC beers on draft. I wound having a Green Man ESB. One word of caution if you like craft, my fist ESB was delivered in an ice-cold glass. I requested and received a room temperature glass for my second. We ordered one of there pizzas and it really was tasty. The food menu is pizza, sandwiches and pasta but everything looked good. We will be going back.
