As brown as a brown ale can be. Slightly hazed with a minimal lace. Musty malty aroma ... mild buttery diacetyl. Watery with a nutty musty flavor, very little hops to balance. Wet sock and more butter in the finish. This brown lacks any kind of clean flavor and character as well.

I picked up a growler of this from the Pub recently and I wasn't as unimpressed as some of the previous reviewers. It poured a reasonable brown color into the pint glass. The head was short-lived. Slightly nutty and hoppy aroma but not overwhelming. It was a tad watered down but the flavor came across as slightly nutty. I went through the growler in short order.

A) Brown with reddish tones. Poured with little to no head. weak lacing.
S) The aroma is vary light. Hard to pick out definitive notes.
T) Malty sweetness in the front is light. Notes of toffee? A residual hop bitterness lingers in the finish and beyond.
M) A bit of a syrupy feel. Thick in the body than anticipated. Medium body feel overall.
D) Not sold on it.

Stopped by for a pint after hiking Kearsarge and Ragged Mt.

Dark, dark brown with a creamy head. In an odd beer miracle this beer has absolutely no retention yet managed to cover the entire glass in an impressive lacey honeycomb.

Lot of roast malts in the nose. The menu said Hedgehog drinks like a porter so I'm reviewing it as a brown porter from here on out. Little bit of "brown" earthy malt.

Taste is horribly acrid roasted malt. The acid just washes over everything. No toasted malt, no earthy, nutty "brown" malt. Nuthin!
