12oz can stamped FILLED ON 10/26/18 (8 months old) poured into a pilsner glass at fridge temp 5% ABV. The beer pours bright light straw yellow with nearly white head. The head recedes to a thin ring and a few bubbles. The aroma is faint with some yeast and pale malt. The taste is grassy & lemony hops laid over a pils malt body with medium bitterness. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied, adequately carbonated and mostly dry in the finish. Overall, good. I expect this would be excellent fresh. Rated to the current average due to age, but would enjoy to drink again.

Beautiful looking pils, nice high fluffy head, pale golden with lazy carbonation. Aroma is pure malt / grains, taste come son as bread/ crackers /biscuits, with a hint of the hops and some dryness at the finish.

A bit cloudy for a pilsner. It has almost no smell, though it's a pilsner and shouldn't be expected to have much of one. The color it just right otherwise.
Out of the can, the flavor profile is a little tinny, but becomes relatively smooth when poured into a glass. Drunk that way it is probably just about what a good pilsner should be.

From a can, pours a super carbonated pale yellow color with a big white head.

The aroma is light malt, wheat, earthy and herbal. It smells very basic, simple, orchestrated. The flavor is similar, floral, herbs, light malt, a little lemon, citrus zest. The hop content could be stronger. This isn't as cutting as other German Pilsener's I have had, which makes it more palatable, smoother consumption. Very drinkable, clean and crisp.

Full notes taken to my phone at Mather Campground, Grand Caynon National Park, AZ. Probably the third can out of the six pack.

A- 12oz can poured into a goblet with a pale golden body with just a bit of haziness. The crown on the beer is white, about half a finger high and foamy textured. Fair hwsd retention and just a bit of spotty lace.

S- Lager yeast driven with a good helping of hops as well. White grapes, lemon zest, apple and some bread as well as some lager funk. Spicy noble hops round it out.

T- Follows the nose almost exactly with strong lager yeast balanced out by hops in the finish. Strong grape and apple fruit esters with some spice and zesty lemon feel. Noble spicy and herbal hop notes come in big in the after taste. Lager yeast a bit too strong as some off flavors seem to arise.

MF- Light bodied with a fairly high carbonation that brings on a crisp feel and accentuates the foamy texture. Somewhat bitter on the back end.

A solid Pilsner for an American made one but doesn't stand up to the greats. The lager yeast seems a bit strained and it shows in the aroma and flavor. Its just not as clean and smooth as other examples but is still fairly solid and I enjoy the hop level.

Tap at the brewpub.

Poured a clear golden color with a small, fizzy head. It smelled of toasted caramel and fresh cut grass. Sweet caramel with a hint of toasted malt. Slight bitterness.

Newest canned offering from Snake River. Sadly, no dating that I can find.

Cold, it pours a clear straw yellow with a 2 finger head of foam.

The smell is on the light side. I get some of the hallertau hops that they used for this German style, that has that nice snappy aroma you'd expect. The malt adds a bit of earthiness and some light grain.

The taste is good. The German malt used brings nice tasty flavours of grain and earthy malt but the hops come through a bit weak. No snap or kick from them, which is something I look for when I buy a brew called a German style Pils. Warming up, I don't see an improvement in that regard.

The mouthfeel is just fine.

Drinkability is good but overall, I kind of expected just a wee bit more. Still, maybe I'm judging it too harshly, or not. I've been drinking a lot of Deschutes Pine Mountain Pils so maybe that's the reason I'm being hard on Monarch.
