The Monarch, eight point bull elk is the King of forest in the Tetons. Pilsners are the beers of Kings, originating in Plzen, Czech Republic. They are light colored lager beers whose flowery hop aroma is followed by a rich, malty sweetness ending with a firm bitterness. Mass produced American beers say they are of this style but have extremely lightened malt and hop characteristics. Our Monarch Pilsner is a traditional style European pilsner, brewed with 100% pilsner malt. Hopping with German lineage hops produces evident bitterness as well as a crisp finish. Monarch Pilsner is a signature beer of Cory Buenning. Formerly called Indian Paintbrush Pilsner.

On tap at the brewery, in a nonic pint glass.
Appearance: Clear golden, with a thin white head that lingered a couple minutes and left finely-bubbled lacing.
Nose: Light crackers and grain.
Mouthfeel: Thin, not inappropriate to style.
Attack: Follows the nose, only more fully.
Finish: Just enough hop bitterness to balance.
Overall: As with many south German Pilsners, and not being a hophead, this is a crisp, sessionable beer I could drink every day. Very good.

Clear, pale gold colored body; decent carbonation; fairly thick and fluffy white head. Nice aroma; very light malt; a bit of hop spiciness. Light cereal grain flavor with a fine complementary hop bitterness; very balanced; clean. Medium-light body; crisp and bright on the palate; mostly dry throughout.
This German-style pilsner hits all the points for a tasty and approachable classic pilsner style. Nicely crafted and very enjoyable.

12oz can stamped FILLED ON 10/26/18 (8 months old) poured into a pilsner glass at fridge temp 5% ABV. The beer pours bright light straw yellow with nearly white head. The head recedes to a thin ring and a few bubbles. The aroma is faint with some yeast and pale malt. The taste is grassy & lemony hops laid over a pils malt body with medium bitterness. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied, adequately carbonated and mostly dry in the finish. Overall, good. I expect this would be excellent fresh. Rated to the current average due to age, but would enjoy to drink again.

Beautiful looking pils, nice high fluffy head, pale golden with lazy carbonation. Aroma is pure malt / grains, taste come son as bread/ crackers /biscuits, with a hint of the hops and some dryness at the finish.
