Near black color but light passes through easily along the edge. Modest beige head which leaves a few spots on the glass.
Burnt malt nose in form of coffee and ash.
Rich bodied and decently carbonated, this is a very big beer. Despite the 13.1% abv, this beer doesn't have any hint of alcohol warmth (although it is very warming on the tongue). This is like black coffee with light ash and black cherry.

On draft at Capitol City Brewing Co. in Virginia.
The beer is dark brown, approaching black, with a finger's width of beige head. The aroma brings coffee, chocolate, and roast, respectively. Nicely done. Coffee leads the way, though chocolate and roast notes are omnipresent. Medium bodied with appropriate carbonation. Alcohol is masked quite well by the bold coffee flavors. A solid beer. I would have this again.

Fuel - a great name for this one, as you could probably run a jet on it.
Very dark brown, not much head to speak of. Slight coffee aroma. Tons of coffee flavor, which helps to hide the fact that it's at 8.5% ABV. Pretty heavy mouthfeel, but not quite like a Guinness. Then again, what is?
It was a bit of a battle to throw this one down - probably best to start with this then move on to some lighter options. Unless you have a jet to run.
