Fairly small place with a good sized patio space. Nice selection of bottles and cans with about 20 taps. Their are a good deal of local craft options. Tasty food options, too.

My favorite bar in St Louis. Not a huge amount of taps but what is there is filled with good selections. Best tap list I've ever seen was at this place. Food and service is as good as the beer!

Coming here to listen to music and now enjoy beers every Tuesday with a tasting group, I have grown quite fond of this place! Their burgers are enjoyable, their vibe is very fun and relaxing, and their music selection is very unique. Come check this place out!

The entire place is covered with pictures of Democratic presidents except for Abraham Lincoln. Tons of colors and art work covers the place then. Awesome environment and great music in the background if no one is DJ-ing.

While bringing some of my own Belgians in to sample off to friends and the bartenders, they have the coolest staff ever! Very easy going, helpful, and definitely know their beer.

The selection varies from week to week but last Tuesday they had Founders Breakfast Stout, Old Rasputin, and other nice ones on-tap while Hopslam was available in bottles with over 15 others. These three stuck in my head.

I suggest coming here a bit later in the night. They have a DJ that usually comes in around 11pm and is worth staying for another craft beer. Highly recommend for good brew and bartenders who are fun and inviting of new brews to share.

The Royale is a place I've always known about, but until recently only visited once (and that was a must because they obtained and tapped a keg of CBS that I wasn't going to miss!). Now I've started to go much more often. This place is legit and has something to offer for all. The food I guess is considered "bar food" but it's delicious and of a higher quality than most any bar grub you'll find. It has a nice patio if you feel like enjoying the outdoors, it has a dining area inside that would be perfect for a date or just to grab a meal with some friends, and it has the best bartenders in town (shout out to Matt and John) that will provide good service should you want to sit at the bar. It has I think 10-12 taps that rotate some local stuff with some other quality beers to enjoy. I've started going up to the Royale on Tuesday nights for their weekly themed beer offerings and to meet up with some regular StL beer enthusiasts who typically bring goods so to share. I highly suggest all to make a visit should you be new in town or just looking to try a new place some weekend.

The Royale is just south of Tower Grove Park on Kingshighway. Custom bike rack with the spaces between ROYALE for locking up bikes. Pretty cool to have a bike-friendly beer bar and restaurant in my neighborhood. The atmosphere is hip and low-key, with a nice inside bar area with plenty of tables and a good-sized patio space in the back. The staff is cool and helpful. The beer selection changes quite frequently, but Boulevard Tank 7 and Strongbow stay on tap always. Schlafly always has a couple taps, and current rotators include stuff from Odell, Urban Chestnut, Weihenstephaner, North Coast (Old Raspy nitro!), St. Bernardus, Founders, and more- 12 total. There are a few dozen regular bottles and 6-12 guest bottles at any given time. Come up here for the Tuesday Night Beer Showcase, which has a weekly theme with guest taps and bottles plus extras brought by the staff and guests. The food is outstanding for bar food- some of the best burgers in St. Louis, seasonal sandwiches and salads, tacos, wraps, and creative sides. The place keeps winning local awards- Best Neighborhood Bar, Best Burger, etc.- and lives up to all of them. Plus, it's my neighborhood bar. I'm lucky to have such a great craft beer bar right across the park.

The Royale (which is impossible to write without thinking of Pulp Fiction) is located on Kingshighway not too far off I-44. There is street parking on Juniata and probable elsewhere.

Cool sign out front and fleur de lis painting on the side of the building. The interior is cozy with the bar on the left and tables and booths on the right. The color scheme is burnt sienna and yellow, and there is a tile ceiling and a lot of headshots of historical figures around. There is a board showing what beers are available at the far end of the bar.

The Royale has 8 taps including beers from Boulevard, O'Fallon, Schlafly, Griesedieck Brothers and Dupont. As for bottles there are over 30, including Boulevard (Saison Brett), Schlafly, North Coast, Sierra Nevada, Founders, Orval, Westmalle, Duvel, St. Bernardus, Meredsous and more.

Service was great on a weeknight. The place was fairly busy for a Tuesday, and the bar was hosting their weekly tasting. The bartenders basically brought in a bunch of their own beers (all under "The Funk" banner) and shared if you purchased any of the drafts in that style. On top of that these guys were clearly beer aficionados. I really picked the right night to visit.

Food is above average as well. I had the "Garlic Dippy" and enjoyed it.

Overall this place is a little off the beaten path but is highly recommended for anyone in STL as far as I am concerned.

The atmosphere in this place is magical. A very simple and traditional set up of a rectangular room with a rectangular bar on the left side of the room and some booths on the opposite side with some bar tables scattered along the room. There are pictures of prominent Americans and world leaders scattered across the room and the wait staff and bartenders all have a certain style that goes well with the place. There is a nice patio in the back that I avoided since I usually like sitting inside the bars.

Sat at the bar and was served by the bartender who was very friendly and helpful. They serve higher ABV beers in smaller pint glasses which is the only thing I didn't quite understand. I tried a Schalfly American IPA and a SKA Modus Hoperandi all on tap. The selection was limited but still quality. There was a nice Blvd and Schlafly selection plus a great number of good bottles.

The food was great. I had a roast beef sandwich that was delicious.

This was the second stop on the afternoon pub crawl. The atmosphere was what I would call a hybrid of something you would find in the loop combined with a south city grittiness. The decor is very political. The selection of beer is a solid selection of most styles, it just isn't a large selection. I had a 5-day and the wife had the Left Hand Milk Stout. Didn't try the food, but did take a look at the menu and it looks very nice. It was not the usual pub grub or bar fare. Instead it included some very heathly options. I will have to try the food on the next visit. The burger was named best in StL by the RFT.

The Royale is a nice little find. It's non-smoking on the inside with 2 TVs. They have a cool patio that will have a fire going when it's cold.

The draft list is pretty standard featuring locals (5 day, Schalfly seasonal, Griesedieck), but they have a good bottle selection. First time I've seen Old Rasputin on a menu, eventhough it was $7.

The food is where this place shines. The Royale burger, half pound of kobe beef with goat cheese is easily the best burger I've had in St. Louis (yea, better than O'Connells). Throw some great sweet potato chips on there, and you've got a tasty dinner.
