22oz brown bomber with a freshness date.

Hazed reddish amber, beautiful display of lacing. Ripe fruit, toasted bread, yeast, caramel, nutty, estery and hay make for a complex nose. Creamy with a bigger body, very malty with a slight buttery edge. More than enough hops to balance, leafy, earthy, pithy flavors. Quite warming with baked apples, toasted grain and spicy alcohol. Semi-sweet finish with a lingering bitterness.

If this brew was cleaned up a bit more it would reach a bit higher of greatness, still a really good quaff ... perfect drinking during a winter storm.

Appears dark red with a small off white head.

It smells of nutty bread like malts and grassy citrusy hops.

It tastes of citrusy fresh tasting grassy hops. The nice hop profile is balanced from a bread like, caramel and toffee like malt profile. I get grassy overtones to the beer. This is very flavorful. The malt and hop flavors to this beer are very strong yet they balance each other out well. The beer ends with a bit of bitterness and a tad bit of sweetness.

The carbonation is moderate. There is a smooth, creamy mouthfeel to the beer.

The drinkability is great. This is a smooth well balanced beer.

Overall a great Imperial Red ale that is intense but very well balanced.

On tap at Bailey's yesterday.

The beer pours a reddish amber color with fairly good head retention and lacing. The nose is malty and sweet, with something of a cinnamon aroma, but with some noticeable dry citrus from the underlying hops as well. On the palate this beer is pretty impressive. As expected, there is connsiderable sweet malt flavor in this beer, but it's countered very well by a considerable tidal wave of hoppy goodness. However, it's not overdone, and I was impressed by how well balanced this beer was for such a big beer. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a fairly long, hoppy, bitter finish. Drinkability was likewise pretty good, with the alcohol very well integrated into the flavor profile. The beer was not the least bit hot, heavy or tiring on the palate.

First beer I've had from these guys, and to say the least, I was impressed.

Grabbed a bomber of this from The BeerMongers... must be a winter brew for Three Creeks. Can't believe it wasn't here on BaarAdvocate... had to add it.

- Dark semi cloudy murky brown.. barely see through it... off-white to tan head... foamy.. leaves a nice bit of lacing and a clean thin layer on top.

- Nice bitter hop scent... pine, slightly floral... with a nice caramel which is light, and solid. Smells delicious.

- A solid, balanced, flavorful, and hoppy red ale... my oh my what a treat. This one goes down in the books as a favorite. Great rich and roasty caramel without being overly sweet. Can't stand sweet reds, and this certainly isn't. Great bitter hopping... just perfect pine and bitter biting hops. I am impressed. Reds are a favorite of mine.. and this is up there.

- Medium bodied.. mouth watering and drying at the same time... only slightly puckering.

- Overall what a fantastic red ale. I could drink this all day until I fell asleep. Overall way balanced, flavorful, and easy to guzzle.
