Toast is undeniably the most popular craft beer store in the Augusta area. While wine drinkers are their core customer base, they maintain one of the largest craft beer selections in the area, with their only competition on selection being Wine World in North Augusta. Due to lots of traffic, beer rotates fairly quickly and does not stay on the shelf long, which is good. Craft beer is not a huge thing in Augusta and most stores end up with old inventory on their shelves. Toast carries a wide selection from domestic to imports. They get all the seasonals from the locals, like Sweetwater and Terrapin. 3 areas that could use improvement: Ground Hog Day...never anything new aside from seasonals; rarely carry rare releases like Terrapin side projects, Sweetwater Dank Tank Series, etc; aside from 2 workers, the rest of the staff has extremely limited knowledge on craft beer. Overall, I would recommend if you are looking for a wide selection, you know what you like, it is not a limited release, and looking for a fair price.

Toast offers exceptional quality, service and selection at a terrific value. In addition, the Fury's Ferry Road location is convenient for much of the market.

Regarding quality and selection, many cold and room-temp beer selections are available, and nothing is ever out of date. In fact, Toast makes a point to stock seasonal brews from many microbreweries. In addition to its beer selection, Toast offers wine and liquor and devotes great attention to its wine selection.

Regarding service, the owner is extremely passionate about what he does, and he employs a staff that is equally devoted to knowledge and service in various product groups. I have not received better service from a competitor. The owner will even suggest new products for your specific tastes.

Another noteworthy point to mention is Toast offers beer from microbreweries at prices barely above what is found in the brewer's hometown. Taking into account the shipping/distribution costs, Toast offers a high level of value that I have not seen matched in the area.

Overall, if you are in the CSRA and want exceptional quality and service with specialization is many product groups, Toast is where it's at.

This is one of the best stores in the area. They have what is probably the largest selection, a helpful staff, and the prices are reasonable. The most impressive aspect of the store is import selection, especially the Germans and Belgians. The U.S. craft selection isn't the greatest but it still features some goodies. All the six packs and four packs can be broken down (thank god). Also, they keep a good balance between larger bottles (bombers and 750ml) and 12 oz. packs. I don't often find any outdated bottles so that is a definite plus.

They have plenty of liquor and wine also and are definitely the cheapest in town.

The only problems I have are with the service and lack of change. They are quick to help but they don't know beer whatsoever. The guy who orders it must never be on the floor or something because the ones who offer assistance usually give a "don't have a clue" stare when I ask a question. Therefore, I don't really know what new beers might be coming in, which leads me to the next problem. They don't seem to get many new beers. I wish they would keep up on special releases and rarities as this would easily make them the best store in the area.

Toast is one of the best places in Augusta to find and buy unique styles of beer that you might not be able to fins anywhere else. The owner is wonderful and helpful and the staff shares his hospitality. A must visit if your in the Augusta Area.

Their beer selection has furthered my expertise and my desire to find great beers and step outside the mainstream. They maintain great hours and you can always expect to find everything you need.

Another note, if your involved in both beer and wine, they also carry an extensive wine selection, as well as a complete selection of spirits and mixers.

As another reviewer said, Toast is the best place to shop for beer in the Augusta area. (I used to think Wine World in North Augusta was, but upon noticing that most of their beers were way out-of-date, I sort of stopped going much. Too bad, because their selection is fantastic, too.)

Toast has a broad selection of both warm and cold beers, all reasonably priced. Too, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Just as good as their selection is their policy of allowing the sale of single bottles, making beer exploration that much easier (and cheaper).

This is without a doubt the place to get beer in the area! Not only do they have a fairly large selection (the best in the area), but they also allow you (nah, ENCOURAGE you) to break any 6 pack they have and buy them as singles without any additional mark up. They have generic 6 pack containers set out for your convenience. If you like trying out lots of different craft breweries, this is the way to go. You can snag 12 different beers without spending much. Don't see something you were looking for? The staff is more than willing to either search in the back to see if they have it, or let you know when it comes in. Want something they don't carry? If they can order it, they will try to get it for you.

The only problem that I have had at Toast is that they can't keep some of their more popular crafts in stick (Dogfish Head and Great Divide IPAs come to mind). They order them, but their suppliers are apparently short on supply as well and only send them part of what they order.

The employees have a mix of beer experience. They seem to have at least one "beer guy" working whenever I go. Some of them have more experience, and can give better recommendations than others, but they are all eager to help.

They have talked about doing some beer tasting events, but I have only seen wine tasting thus far.

Toast is without a doubt the best place to buy beer in the Martinez/Evans/Augusta area. As of the last time I hit the store on a beer run, the selection was up to over 300 varieties, including the main macros, crafts, and a great selection of imports. They have a large cooler (I'd say at least 8 doors-worth of beer); shelves are separated into two halves, with one containing all imports (divided into countries of origin) and the other domestic crafts (divided into beer style). For those looking for beverages other than beer, they also have a great selection of wines and liquors, and host wine tastings often.
