Looks dark golden yellow. Smells hoppy. Taste like a bitter hoppy mix. Overall it’s a good IPA.

Canned 9/21/21. Let sit out for a few minutes before opening.

Barely-hazy medium gold, with one finger of quickly-dissipating head.

Smell is mostly grapefruit, and a vague mixture of other citrus, plus occasional hints of green onion , and something that seems a mix of blueberry and kiwi. A slight crackery malt aroma is present while the head is still extant.

Taste is grapefruit, lemon rind, slight green onion, and brief flashes of the kiwi+blueberry(ish) element noticed in the aroma. Moderate bitterness, with a mild grapefruit pith flavor lingering after finish. Towards the end that grapefruit pith + carbonation reminds me of the better brut IPAs (2?) that I've had, but maybe not quite as dry.

Feel is light, but not watery, with moderate, very fine carbonation tingle. A bit drier towards finish, which amplifies the sensation of lightness.

Overall, well-balanced, and easy-drinking, as a "session" beer should be . It does that without sacrificing flavor or feel - satisfying as something higher octane. One of those beers that's gone before you even notice. :)

It’s about time some different Lawson’s beer made it out to MA again, even if it’s only this one for now. I had the Amarillo hopped version of this beer and thought it was pretty good but nothing amazing. Mosaic is a pretty fruit forward hop, usually used with other hops, so I’m interested to see if it can hold its own. Let’s find out

Pours a mostly clear deep gold with 3 fingers of soapy white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves minimal lacing

This is mostly a citrus bomb in the nose but there’s other notes to back it up. I’m picking up on aromas of lemon rind, orange juice, pithy grapefruit, caramel malt, toasted grain, and light blueberry

It’s mostly identical in taste, though it’s more expressive and bright. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting lemon rind, orange juice, underripe melon, red grapefruit, bready malt, and light pine. The swallow brings notes of juicy grapefruit, orange rind, blueberry, bready malt, and white pepper

A light medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a crisp and refreshing beer. Finishes mostly dry with a subtle spice for balance

This is a damn solid beer. Super sessionable (sounds familiar) and decently complex for a single hopped beer

From a 16 fl. oz. can packaged 19 Aug 2021. Sampled Nov 10, 2021.

The pour is not hazy but it is an attractive looking golden color underneath a short-lived white head. OK clarity.

Aroma of toasted bread just to get that out of the way but otherwise loads of pine and fruit characters.

Light-medium mouthfeel.

The taste is at first sweet and then the fruity hops kick i8n and take things over. The bitterness at the end is about moderate. Clean. Crisp. An easy beer to drink.

A great session ale. Light bodied but loaded with skunky hop on top. Like a pint of iced hop tea. Definitely a showcase for mosaic. Reminiscent of Nebco supernaut but lighter.

Poured from a 16 oz can purchased at Shaw's in Manchester, VT. Born on 06/23/21. Pours opaquish yellow with plenty of initial foam and bubbles. Sweet corn like hoppy taste up front though not very bitter. Great beer!

On tap at brewery:
Moderate hop aromas to this session IPA that is light, but fills out its body with a firm bitterness. Not overly complex, but the light malt flavor holds off the hop/bitterness just enough to provide some interest.

Here it is, Friday & the end of Summer break is nigh. I head back to the classroom on Monday, but it will be good to get back to work. I spent the summer recuperating from surgery as planned & now I am GTG. In the interim, I am CANtinuing to get it in & on for The CANQuest (tm)!

From the CAN: "Keep Cold! Enjoy Fresh!"; "Lawson's Finest Liquids is a small artisanal brewery located in Warren, Vermont, producing an array of hop-forward ales, specialty maple beers and unique creations. Super Session #8 is brewed by Lawson's Finest Liquids at Two Roads Brewing Co. in Stratford, CT."; "Our Session IPA is so tasty and quaffable that it will leave you craving more! Super Session #8 features full malt flavor and assertive hop character with copious additions of Mosaic hops late in the kettle and in dry-hopping."

I like that we are seeing the return of more normative 12-fl. oz. CANs since I do not always want a full pint. I Crack!ed open the vent on this one & began a steady, gentle C-Line Glug. My reward was the formation of two-plus fingers of foamy, soapy, rocky, French Vanilla-colored head with modest retention. Color was Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) with NE-quality clarity, enticing The Gelt Gang of Croesus, Mammon & Midas to rouse from their drunken slumber & join me for some hair of the dog. I was not in on last night's party as they again watched their beloved black & gold Pixburgh Pirates go down in defeat since I was on the winning trivia team at CKW2G at the time. Nose was unquestionably Mosaic! If you like tropical fruit salad in your lunchbox, then you will really dig what this hops strain does for beer! Man, it is like a tropical fruit riot in the glass. Mmm. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium. The taste was less intense in terms of its tropical fruitiness than what I got on the nose. This is part of the problem, as I see it, with these so-called "Session" AIPAs - more aroma than bittering. Do not misunderstand - it was hoppy enough to keep me happy, but it just did not come up to level of its nose. Finish was dry & while it was enjoyable, I was satiated after one. YMMV.

Go to session if I can find it. Much better balance than the too-sweet Sip of Sunshine.

12oz can into IPA glass
Canned on 7/11/19
Pours a clear gold with big rocky head
Tropical dank piney aroma
Taste is light malt, followed by peach and apricot, with a dank finish
Feel is light bodied as it should be
This is a nice example of a session IPA, light malt and body, yet full of hop notes

Amazing dank aroma and taste reminiscent of some other outstanding dipas including their own Sip of Sunshine.

For the pungent Aroma and taste, I prefer this to the harsher (though widely available) Super Session #2.
