Excellent head production, with more than three fingers of firm flat white foam from a turbulent pour. Body is golden straw colored, lively, and hazy without being pulpy. Head retention and lacing are excellent.

Very dank nose, owing certainly to the Idaho 7 hop. Pungent, earthy, leafy, green, spicy, peppery, onion-y, along with a touch of lemon and cracker. Italian spices and potpourri. Very aromatic brew, but whether or not you enjoy those tones is a matter of personal preference.

While this brew carries a touch more body than the usual session IPA, it still suffers from the same watery character. There's certainly plenty of hop character, with a lively, crisp bite up front, growing through a dank and pungent middle. Very lively with plenty of sting, and despite the light body, somehow manages to carry some of the Lawson's smoothness onto the palate.

A very tasty beer, and very, very good for a session IPA.

Had this at the source in Vermont at the end of October during my trip out to New England/Gen's wedding.

Pours a soapy yellow with 1/3" white head. The aroma was the "weak" side of Idaho 7, I dunno, they come off more like a bittering hop even though the industrial hop complex declares they are aroma hops (with practically every descriptor from any hop ever included in their usual description for these). Found assertions of tropical fruit to be really off.

I got a big Chinook like pine forest kind of feel in the taste. It was good. Does that old school tree bitter without being over the top. The mouthfeel is definitely light and refreshing the entire experience. This one really came off a lot like a diet/junior/light version of Chinooker'd. And that ain't a bad thing. Goes hard on the pine and a little bit of old school grapefruit too.

One thing of note, the day I had this was a torrential rain storm in fall. I could envision this is an even better banger with typical summer weather. I'd buy a 6 pack if I saw it on a shelf.

12 ouncer, w/ "PKG 12OCT19" stamped on the can's bottom.

Nice looking NEIPA hazed up pour and leaving a quality load of low ringed fine sheeting.

Pineapple/hop resin sniff

Tasty and full flavor take on the beloved style...yes tropical fruit notes, but this one is a bit more resiny/piney hop infused then many others....highly enjoyable...go get some.

Pours a fairly clear yellow color with massive foam head that lingers. Nice citrus hoppy aroma, lots of lemon. Flavor is light with a pleasing citrus hop flavor and sharp bitterness. Overall a fine session ipa, not my favorite style, would drink again

I am a huge fan of Lawson's. I buy (2) 4 packs of Sip Of Sunshine about twice a month going back several years now. Love the Hopzilla as well. I have a place in Warren to ski and I was introduced to lawsons when they first came out. Love this brewery and a long time fan.

HOWEVER, Super Session #7 was not my favorite. too much of a bitter lingering aftertaste, flat feeling on tongue, low ABV. Not worth it. I think their concept of "session" mixed with a overly dramatic to the point of feeling artificial hops effect is a big miss on this conconcotion. Surprised this one made the cut with Lawson's.

Poured from a 12oz can with a canned on date of 9/7/19; into a pub glass.
Appearance- gold, with a slight haze and lots of bubbles; thick, frothy white head that leaves thick lacing!
Smell- fruity pineapple and some green melon!
Taste - pineapple that is blanketed with pepper and pine!
Feel - far more bitter than most session IPA’s, definitely a hop bomb session!
Overall - a powerful hop filled session you can drink all day!

Can dated 9/7/19 into pint glass. Pours a clear golden amber with a substantial eggshell-white head. Initial impression is red grapefruit, pine resin, orange, and maybe some caramel in the background. Mouthfeel is pretty substantial for a session beer. Finish is fairly dry, fading to a slight bitterness on the back of the tongue. Very tasty!

12 ounce can in a fine pilsner glass.

Pours a cloudy light golden straw color with a 1F white froth. Abundant lacing, good retention.

Grassy, white grape, onion, light malt.

Full on citrus hop flavor over the light malt.

There's enough body and hop bite. A slightly mineral and onion aftertaste that doesn't work well.

All good til the very end but I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt. I did not review #s 2 or 8 but I recall preferring 2 to this.

Probably the best session IPA I've found so far, if you consider a session, since it's pushing the upper limits at 4.8%. A little tastier than #8. A fine balance of ABV and flavor.

LAWSONS SUPER SESSION #7 9/23/19

Bought yesterday at the brewery/taproom. Have had both the other Lawson's "Super Sessions," not sure why this one is numbered in between yet is apparently the newest addition, except most likely due to the use of the newish "Idaho 7" hops in this one..

Poured from the 12 oz. can into a Lawson's stemmed tulip.

a: Mainly clear orange gold with a finger thick white head which receded to thin surface foam and dense to spotty lacing.

s; Mild grape juice.

t; White grapes with some strength over a mild to moderate bitterness and dry finish. Later fairly strong pine resin notes show up.

m: Solid medium, which is excellent for a session IPA, very good body and some carbonation tingle.

o; An exceptional session IPA with lots of flavor Likely due to the Idaho 7 hop) which belies its low ABV. Perhaps not as light and "summery" as the others (been a few years since I had the other two), but impressively substantial for its type.

I'm not a big session fan as they taste like hops in water but this #7 is fantastic. Take an old school oniony garlicy west-coast style IPA and knock down the resin and abv while adding some citrus and you have the #7. The best session I've ever had...

Poured from a 12 oz can into a tulip glass.

Pours a lightly hazy bright gold color with 2 fingers of sudsy white head. The head is quite persistent, leaving a few splotches of lacing before settling into a thin cap of foam.

The aroma brings notes of orange, grapefruit, and papaya. There's plenty of grainy malt presence with just a hint of earthy pine.

The flavor brings notes of grapefruit and orange up front, followed by some pear and apricot. Very clean with a piney, bitter finish.

The feel is medium-light bodied with very good carbonation. Crisp and drinkable as hell.

Overall, a great session IPA that packs all the flavor of a regular IPA into a 4.8% package. Easy to put down 4-5 of these bad boys.

A light amber color and a good hoppy flavor that seems hard to come by in session IPAs. Low 4.8 ABV with little green grape and mint flavor and a nice bitter finish. If I’m looking for a session I would try to find this one.

I couldn't tell if this was the same as #7 from last year with a simple redesign or a totally new beer. Either way, it was canned on 8/8/19. Pours a beautiful golden blonde hue with a huge head into my glass. Assertive citrus in the nose. Crisp, clean citrus hop essence. Not as bitter as I expected (based on last year's #7) and definitely a beer I could have more than 1 or 2 at a time and not feel drained. Pick it up. $10.99 is a good deal for 6.

Canned 10-25-18 into 16oz IPA.
L: Dark straw colored, clear. Light head and lacing.
S: Mild citrus.. borderline tropical. Malts fairly prevalent.
T: Matches the aroma. Very nice balance of malts and hops. I get a tiny bit of tartness (not sour) late.
F: Watery, but for a 4.8%.. it is well presented. Light bitterness and carbonation.
O: Grabbed 4 of these on our trip to the Hudson Valley. Good little session brew.

A really solid low ABV IPA. Glad I tried it but I wouldn't seek it out again. I prefer a nice balanced APA. This had a slight aftertaste that i wasn't in love with but overall very good. nb

On-tap at Rail Trail in Hudson. A filtered beer in a sea of hazy hoppy beers! This is on the West Coast side, being fairly bitter with a sweet malty finish. An easy drinker.

12oz can dated 9/25/18.

Pours clear gold with a chill haze. A big, spongy head fell slow to reveal nice lacing and moderate retention. Tangerine and grapefruit in the nose. Light to medium bodied with a crisp but somewhat syrupy mouthfeel. Honey-drizzled grapefruit on the palate with light malt and a fairly substantial bitterness. Finishes with some lingering sweetness and bitter hops.

A bit sweet and bitter for a session and more hops wold be nice.

A- The 12oz can pours into a tulip with a basically clear golden body and a one inch thick creamy white head. Good head retention and plentiful spotted lacing at the top of the glass.

S- Fresh hops that have a decent medium strength and a balanced, blended profile of citrus, floral, slight stone fruit and herbal notes. Oranges, mango, grapefruit and dank weed for specifics.

T- Picks up more of the stonefruit and bitter, oily citrus zest aspect on top of what was found in the smell. Apricots now come to mind with the mango, bitter ruby grapefruit, bitter oranges, tangerine, dank weed, a bit of peach and floral hops. Slight sweetness and a crackery grain hint but mostly the hops; some bread later on.

MF- Light bodied with a high end carbonation. The texture is somewhat creamy and frothy on the palate with a solid bitterness in the finish.

Softer on the nose with a balance of heavy citrus and the zest, stone fruits and floral hops on the taste buds. Gets the job done for an easy drinkable session brew.
