Brewed with Pacific Jade hops from New Zealand and named after our youngest daughter, Jade, I hope you enjoy the unique aromatics and flavor profile of this new hop variety. - Sean

650 mL bottle poured into an Allagash chalice.
Appearance - Very cloudy orange body without a very impressive head. Some bubbles on the surface, but it looks a little undercarbonated. Sticky lacing and a few surface islands.
Smell - Dynamic blend of hop aromas. Mango and tropical fruits are the strongest, but a close second is a simcoe-like aroma. Grapefruit, too. In the back is a slightly herbal hop aroma that reminds me of Double Sunshine.
Taste - Grassy and herbal hops are more prevalent here, but the tropical fruits still persist. I wish I knew which flavors the jade hops were providing. Nice blend of hops, overall. Malt presence is nice, just a touch of sweetness to balance. Healthy grassy hop bite in the back end.
Mouthfeel - It is a little bit undercarbonated. Makes it a little less crisp than I'd like, but I'm still trying really hard not to put this one away in two or three gulps. It's a little bitter, too. My wife found it too bitter, likening it to a gratuitous nipple slip in an otherwise classy movie.
Overall - Another excellent offering from Lawson's. I can't get enough of VT IPAs. Lawson's provides consistent quality in their IPAs with enough hop variation to keep me seeking them out.

On tap at The Blackback Pub, Waterbury VT. This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a slim bar pour’s kind of head. Quickly dissipated. Some messy lacing. The smell had a sweet lush orange pulp along with some grapefruit peel. Slight bitter citrus and piney hops grind in for the balance. Subtle sweet earthiness underneath. The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors to combine nicely. But there’s a bit less earthiness. Light semi-sweet to bitter citrus and piney aftertaste. Smooth juicy finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a good sessionability about it. Carbonation runs smooth allowing this to feel like I’m drinking orange juice. Overall, well, I absolutely loved this. Maybe because I had it on tap and fresh, I dunno. But I do know I’d have again.

Picked up last Friday at Beverage Warehouse. One of the few times I've waited in line for beer.
Pours a cloudy orange/blonde hue with a frothy white head into my glass. A buddy commented that modern IPAs and DIPAs seem to be brighter and cloudier than those just a few years ago.
There's a citrus bouquet in the nose. I'm not sure about the profile of Pacific Jade hops but I'm hoping there's more in the taste.
Acidic with grapefruit as the dominant citrus flavor with mango (?) as the other flavor. Crisp. Still quite fresh.
Lot of bitterness in the back end. Warms the throat even at 7%.
Definitely worth waiting in line for this. It goes quick though!
