Reviewed from notes. Had on-tap at CCB tasting room. Served in a pint glass.

A: Nice dark brown, hazy but somewhat translucent. A half-finger of white head, and low visible carbonation.

S: Vinegar, acetic tartness, some lactic character over some toasted malt. But not a huge nose on this.

T: Lactic sour bite, the most tart of lemon rind, a bit of toasted malt, and then a more vinous sourness. The sourness lasts into the hang.

M: Low carbonation sensation, but the tingle from the sourness but makes it not seem flat at all. A relatively thin body, which does get to the point of detracting a bit. Minimal alcohol presence.

O: Described as a "Kentucky Common" - my first one. This wasn't bad at all, but a seemingly weird intersection of a brown ale and a sour. Glad to have tried it, but I didn't go back for a second pour.

On tap at the House of Brews. Served in a snifter.

Appearance - Dark brown. Fluffy and creamy head. Nice lacing and surface foam.

Smell - Nutty and bready. Some dark fruits. I get something reminiscent of a sour beer, but not really any acidity on the nose. Faint red wine.

Taste - Much brighter flavor. Much more red wine. Fruity. A bit of cherry. Nutty malts in the back with some toasty flavors. Very mild sourness.

Mouthfeel - High carbonation makes it seem lighter. Medium body despite. Mild sourness.

Overall - Not sure what this wants to be. In between brown and sour. I'd probably enjoy it more if it were one or the other.
