Style: American Pale Ale (APA)

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.50%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
Traditional throughout Latin America, the guayabera shirt combines style, functionality, form and tradition in it’s four-pocketed design. We at Cigar City feel the same reverence and appreciation for the guayabera that we do for the Citra hop varietal, an ingredient that imparts notes of tangerine, lime and berries to this traditional American Pale Ale. The exclusive use of Citra hops in this beer creates a flavor that’s at once unique and recognizable, while it’s dry, crisp character and moderate alcohol make it as refreshing and functional as a crisp linen guayabera.

Tasty citrus, tropical and well balanced IPA! Not heavy with malts which is my preference. Nice aroma.
Cigar City did a good job with the Citra hops.

L: Had this beer on-tap at Gene's Haufbrau, poured into a pint glass. Had a yellow-orange color and a hazy consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, fairly long-lasting head. Fantastic lacing.

S: A very nice aroma of hops. citrus fruit, malt, and tropical fruit.

T: Tasted of a mild amount of malt (barely present), a good shot of citrus fruit (lime, in particular), a lot of hops (not too much, though), some berries, and light tropical fruit. A sweet and fruity flavor. Being that this is an APA, they keep the hops content low. Quite well balanced and delicious.

F: A well-carbonated beer with a smooth finish. Light-bodied.

O: This is a satisfying, easy to drink beer. A good beer for a hot day.

Fantastic beer. Hoppy and citrusy on the nose. Very good citrus on the mouth. Medium bodied, good bitter. Fantastic all day drinking.

Dark copper colored with a light haziness. There's a fingernail of off white covering the top. The aroma is of lemon lime and ginger. I'm tasting that lemon lime which also provides a pleasant cooling sensation to the tongue. Light malt is also in the mix to counter the citrus fruit.

Hazy orange like every other beer, minimal head
Stone fruit, yeast, grapefruit, lemon, orange, esters
Berries, leather, cherry, earth, lime, orange
Little carbonation, a little heavy
Kind of an odd beer, don't think I'd try it again

Pours a cloudy bright yellow with a thick white head, generous lacing. Aroma is a blend of tropical and citrus fruits. Flavor follows the nose, sweet with very little bitterness in the end. Feel is crisp, light and happy, nicely carbonated. Glad this Brewery is now available in Minnesota. Nice beer.

Pours out medium amber in color. The head is white and foamy leaving even lacing around the glass.
The nose is tropical. It is semi sweet with pineapple, peach, tangerine and bitter grapefruit.
Taste juicy. There is lots of pineapple and orange and zesty grapefruit rind. Simple yet effective.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied. Its wet and coats the mouth nicely. Carbonation is on the light side.

Good Citra Bomb of a pale ale.
A shade of chill haze with a diminishing white head. Some lacing.
Tons of juicy Citra taste as expected.
Nothing earhahattering but pretty refreshing on a hot day and certainly very crushable.
Doesn’t have that residual lingering mouthfeel that some Citra pales get.
I’d keep this in my fridge in the summer

The aroma is of grapefruit hops and some lime. Inviting aroma.

The taste is of grapefruit and grapefruit rind. Some orange and lime. The malt is lightly bready.

The feel is moderate with prickly carbonation. Mainly sweet on the palate with a light hoppy bitterness.

Nice IPA. One dimensional but good.

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation along with slight amber hues. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left lacing on the surface and a narrow ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of tangerine citrus are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of oranges and limes along with a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and slightly crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This APA is packed with a lot of citrusy aromas and flavors. It is very easy to drink.
