Pours dark, almost black, nice mouthful.

I'd call this beer Angry Chocolate, which, incidentally, would be a great stripper name.

Heavy chocolate taste, a little alcohol bite, a touch of bitterness on the aftertaste. Delicious. Served to me on tap in a snifter, it's seriously like drinking a dark chocolate bar with a little booziness.

I had this on tap at CCB last week. Pours dark brown with a nice creamy tan head. Not as thick as the CCB stouts. Has some nice orange citrus flavors and some really nice wood notes from the 3 different woods (white oak, french oak, and sugar maple) slightly sweet with a nice dark chocolate body. One of my favorite CCB beers. Hope they add this to their list of regulars.

Reviewed from (very) long-standing notes. Poured from a 32 oz. crowler into a Cycle Brewing snifter glass.

A: Very, very dark brown, and essentially opaque. Over a finger of light brown head sticks around for quite awhile.

S: Roasted malt and chocolate - but low aroma overall when it's cold.

T: Chocolate, dark cacao, and deep roasted malts. Some woody dry notes. Lighter flavors of coffee, creamy lactose-like sweetness (though this aspect fades as it warms during the drink), and a touch of tobacco (this increases as it warms). Some hop bitterness at the end as well. Sweet malts and roasted bitterness in the hang with more woody dryness.

M: Creamy and a thick heavy mouthfeel (but not overly so) – very nice. The alcohol presence is well-hidden, and carbonation sensation on the low side.

O: Quite a tasty porter, but the flavors just don't open up as much as I expected when it warms up. Still, it has plenty going for it as it is. plenty tasty.

on tap at CCB/RBWG-2015 event.
Poured with a huge frothy light brown head that took a very long time to settle. Actually, I finished the ale before it disappeared. This thick bodied ale has a rich aroma and a strong flavor. Coffee, bitter chocolate and some dark fruits appear upon tasting.

32 oz. crowler poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Viscous black body. Big deep khaki head. Thick collar. Never fully settles.

Smell - Some hops. Lots of fudge and molasses. Dark chocolate and some woodiness.

Taste - Extremely woody. Has a hop flavor more prominent than the smell. Kinda fruity. Dark chocolate. Very woody. Oak. Some spicy woodiness too.

Mouthfeel - Medium heavy. CCB always makes a chewy stout/porter.

Overall - Well made. Possibly too woody, but that's what makes it interesting.

On tap at The House of Brews – Jensen Beach, Fl.
A – Basically black with about a half finger of creamy brown head. Settles a bit but leaves a nice cap.
S – Chocolate and more chocolate with a touch of malt.
T – Well like the nose this is a great punch of chocolatey goodness but not overly sweet which is a neat trick. Some very nice woody, oaky flavors and a touch of roastiness. Light alcohol rounds it off.
M – Medium bodied with ample carbonation. Slick feel. Leaves a bit of sweetness after each sip.
O – Delicious porter with a great chocolate palate. Tasty as hell. Amazingly easy drinker. More please.
