Style: American Pale Lager

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.50%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
This Tampa-style Lager is inspired by the traditional German-style Helles, which translates to “light colored.” Perfect for the Florida heat, it’s a beer that’s made for drinkin’ when it’s truly hotter than helles outside.

Pours a pale straw color with average carbonation. A thin, white bubbly head.
Smells like a European lager with the yeast and hop smell.
The yeast taste really stands out on this refreshing and tasty lager. One of the better lagers I have had in quite some time.

Overall a very close representation of a German Helles. Quality crafted you can tell from the smooth beginning and crisp finish. Will buy again if i can find. Jai alai has become easy to find but CCB other great offerings are hard in my part of Atlanta.

Any chance I get to pick up a new offering (at least to me) from Cigar City, I do it. And it was no different with their Tampa-Style Lager. The only catch, it was most likely my least favorite of their offerings to date. I will say this though, it was a very good tasting lager, much, much better than many. But when compared to those offerings of their I have had, it didn't quite match up well.

Good color with a weak head that dissipates very quickly leaving no opportunity for lacing. Very nice scents of citrus, with a distinct odor of lemongrass that I like so well. A very crisp beer, starts off smooth and ends up more bitter than what you would expect from a lager. I enjoyed the sweet start that it offers as well. Overall a very good beer, just not one of their upper tier offerings.

A: Clear golden straw color, 1 inch white head, spotty lacing

S: Sweet bread malts, light hoppyness much like most american adjunct lagers

T: Great malt sweetness, a great yeast funkiness, slight hop bitterness

M: Light, good effervescent carbonation to clear the pallet

O: Great lager! Would be the perfect beer after a grass cutting session in the summer or while setting on the beach.
