First time for myself and two friends at a fun tasting at my house. This was my contribution and it lived up to CigCity standards and was really liked by all of us. I would buy this again. And again. Nice job CCity!

Black with reddish brown highlights. Alex's bottle, that really resembles Devil's chocolate cake. Lots of chocolate, big mouthfeel and cinammon. Drinkable by sharing.

Really fruity smell, taste is nutty up front and then finishes with fruit and roasted malt. Very good description with Devils food cake

Fresh new bottle release picked up at brewery today. Bottle dated 12/21/2015. Poured into CCB snifter. Pours a jet black with thick dark brown 1 finger head fading to a nice cap with bubble pile. Smell is not as strong as other CCB stout offerings. I smell the cacao and you get that high ABV nose, 11%. The taste is big, BIG, full of nutty, chewy, chocolate cake. This beer very complex and full bodied but without any off tastes. There website states it's a English style stout. It tastes more like a imperial milk stout if there is such a style. Mouthful is like having a chocolate cake with extra chocolate icing and Nestle Quick put into a blender. I know that kind of dumbs it down but the truth is this is a masterpiece of brewing. 4.75

Update: cracked open a cellered bottle 10/13/2016. Holding up very well. Has lost much of its desert characters but has morphed into this complex smooth milk stout. Every sip begs for more. What a great flavored stout! Equally as good as when freash.

650 mL bottle. Inky black. Big mocha head. Smells of the cypress wood, which I haven’t had before. Chocolate, a little soy sauce, and a bit nutty. Tastes of hazelnuts throughout. They kinda combine with the soy sauce flavor in a negative way. Very savory. Fudgy and woody. Cypress lingers. Heavy and boozy. It’s standard CCB giant stout fare. Soy sauce and crazy adjuncts.

Poured from a bottle from the brewery--tapped this week. Shared with two others, so poured into small tumblers. Result was a strong muddy brown foam that settled down to fine lacing and film. Taste is strong chocolate--no coffee.

A nice stout that is slightly too sweet, but otherwise well done. The vanilla and cocoa nibs really come through and the hazelnuts are nowhere to be found. A slight woody presence from the cypress wood is present in the background.
