Bright red with a thin, fuzzy light pinkish-white blanket.

Smell is seedy, acidic raspberry, blackberry and cherry with a little toasted bread.

Taste is fresh, tart raspberry mellowed out by the still present bready malt. There's also a little seedy, slightly milky funk but it's mostly smooth tartness with a consistently carbonated, crisp moderate body and a semi-dry finish. Lemon-lime-cherry pops in occasionally as well.

There isn't even the slightest hint of artificial or medicinal flavors in this beer at all, which is a stark contrast to the Kuhnhenn Raspberry Eisbock I had a few days ago.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy ruby/pinkish orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light pink head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big tart/tangy raspberries, cranberry, lemon, lime, green apple, pear, melon, peach, white grape, pepper, wheat, lightly toasted biscuit, hay, grass, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of raspberries, fruity/acidic/spicy yeast, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart/tangy raspberries, cranberry, lemon, lime, green apple, pear, melon, peach, white grape, pepper, wheat, lightly toasted biscuit, hay, grass, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Moderate fruity/lactic tartness and yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy raspberries, cranberry, lemon, lime, green apple, pear, melon, peach, white grape, pepper, wheat, lightly toasted biscuit, hay, grass, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of raspberries, fruity/acidic/spicy yeast, and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tart/spiciness balance, and zero puckering flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from tart/spiciness and carbonation, increasing through the glass. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, creamy/bready/grainy/acidic, and lightly tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol for 7.2%. Overall this is an outstanding fruited sour saison! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of raspberries, fruity/acidic/spicy yeast, and bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink; with the balanced lactic/spicy/creamy finish. Perfectly balanced between fruit, lacto, and saison yeast flavors. A tad on the malty side, but never overly sweet. A highly enjoyable offering.

Simple, straight forward and decidedly fruity, the clean lactic sourness of fermentation lends a crisp and refreshing acidity. And then there's raspberries. The fruit overlay is bright, breaming and beautiful as the ale showcases the berries in their very best light.

Lactobacillus Raspberry Grove pours a bright mauve with pinks, peaches and ruby hues for a neon pink appearance. Even its mostly white froth casts a pinkish tint ahead of a jaw-tightening tartness of citrus, raspberry and vinous white wine. Its taste is sweet with hard candy, fruit soda and a brisk wheaty, grain combination to start the flavors.

Much of the already low lying sweetness soon fades away and the radiant true flavor of raspberry remains. Tangy, bright and juicy, the berries have a sense of being branch ripe, fresh and oh so succulent. Its juiciness slathers the tongue ahead of the beer's tantilizing sourness of lemon, lime and sour green apple turn the attention from plumpness of fruit and toward the brisk sourness of the ale underneath.

Medium-light in body, the beer's scant maltiness lingers on with echoes of wheat and fruit candy. A short aftertaste exhumes as a brief after palate of burlap and hay offer a late earthy, peppery balance.
