Inspired by the confederation of merchant guilds that dominated trade in the Baltic and North Seas for 300 years. This beer is the coalescence of a cognac barrel-aged Baltic porter, a brandy barrel-aged imperial stout, coconut, cinnamon and vanilla beans.

On tap at the original brewery, 10/7/21, Tampa. Thick, rich, and just as it should be! Deep amber blackness. Rich oak, whisky, and molasses aromas are followed by a flavor explosion in the mouth. Sweeter than I would choose, but coconut, molasses, and cinnamon abound! The mouthfeel is full and silky. Love this baby!

Deep brown with two inch khaki head. Smell is malts and sweetness. Flavor is mild barrel with a hint of coconut and cinnamon. Get a bit of black licorice too. Don't get much in the way of the vanilla. Overall, pretty nice

Got this one from desp a while back. Cheers!

El Cat Bottle #2
Barrel age imperial stout – Baltic porter blend brewed with coconut, vanilla and cinnamon
APPEARANCE: Black pour yields a 2+ finger, medium looking, noisy, fizzier tan head with good retention. Black body with no real carbonation evident. Head recedes to a nice, thick, creamy cap, then down to a full wisp. Splotchy wisp and a ring remain leaving touches of lacing down the glass.
SMELL: A good dose of cinnamon up front with vanilla, milk chocolate, roasted aromas, oak and some cognac on the nose. Bold and plenty going on. Really nice.
TASTE: Cinnamon, roasted flavors, oak and cognac up front. Some more spirit at the swallow, then a big, lingering finish of cinnamon spices, sweet vanilla and milk chocolate, roasted flavors, sweet butterscotch flavors, oak, cognac and alcohol. Flavorful with plenty of sweet and spicy cinnamon flavors and boozy cognac.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Enough weight and creamy enough on the palate, goes down smooth with a decent burn at the swallow and finish relatively mouth-coating. Some decent heat lingers.
OVERALL: This is really, really nice. Lots of nice character and the barrels are enjoyable as well. Love cinnamon in barrel aged stouts and this one is very well balanced in that department. It’s a little hotter than it needs to be with a bit too much of an alcohol presence, but this is a minor complaint. CCB is one of the best in the country and this blend is another one worth the effort. Thanks again,

The brew appears black in color with a thin khaki head that fades leaving spotty lace.
It smells of cinnamon, roast and anise. The taste is of black licorice, cinnamon and raisin.
This is medium in body with modest carbonation. Overall decent but not worth the price all things considered.

750mL bottle acquired through the El Catador Club. Bottled 2/23/18. Served in a Cigar City teku. Enjoyed 8/9/18.
Pours midnight black with two fingers of dense khaki head. The froth settles to a thin veneer and sturdy perimeter.
Rich sweet aromas immediately greet my nose. Cinnamon, brandy, vanilla, caramel, coconut, hot cocoa and wet wood. It’s a delightful blend with significantly more nuance than I’ve described.
A decadent, warming barrage of flavor. Fudge, cinnamon, cognac-drenched wood, toasted coconut, cooked caramel, apple skin, faint vanilla, slight char and a little booze. Absolutely delicious.
Full, thick feel with pleasantly restrained carbonation. Cognac brandy glazed, cinnamon dusted brownies.
More outstanding barrel work for Cigar City’s El Catador Club. Barrel Aged Königsberg is a delicious blend of styles, barrels and additives.
