The “mother of all Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout” treatments, this one-of-a-kind barrel-aged Imperial Stout is a maple syrup bourbon barrel-aged Imperial Stout with vanilla, cacao nibs, cinnamon and ancho, pasilla and guajillo chile peppers.
Think “white chocolate chip pancakes eaten with a white-oak fork after dusting some chile powder over the plate”.

This pours black with a minimal one finger head that quickly dissipates. It smells of deep rich chocolate and maple. Tastes really maple up front with the midpalate chocolate taste and a small lingering back end alcohol burn. Really well balanced and one of the best beers I have had from CCB.

500ml bottle poured into a teku
Appearance : pitch black with a bit of head
Smell : maple is present on the nose right after pouring, followed by cinnamon and chocolate. Not as much of the peppers or vanilla, although the lack of peppers could be due to the age of the bottle.
Taste : Very maple forward, with maple/cinnamon/chocolate fighting for the front seat. Bourbon character is minimal, I think this could also benefit from a bit more pepper heat to balance it (which probably was there when this was fresher). Besides that, extremely tasty. Boozier than the base huna but it a good way, you can tell that this is amped up compared to the standard version
Mouthfeel: medium-full, not overly heavy
Overall: Great beer that punches above its value. Would love to see Cigar City do more stuff like this.

500ml bottle poured into snifter
Shared this with some good buddies. Absolute maple BOMB! The barrel characteristics meld well with the base and maple additions. Dark malts with traditional Huna spice. Mild heat, and super slick. You would never be able to tell that this is 15%+. It really IS the “mother of all Huna treatments”. I rated regular BA Huna higher than this, but I had this next to equally impressive brews which might have adjusted the bell curve. Still, I’m happy to have the chance to try any beer with a 500 bottle count.

Possibly the best Cigar City beer I've ever had. I will not be trading my other bottles.
