2017 release. Poured into Cigar City tulip glass. It pours a dark brown-cola color with two fingers of khaki-colored head and lacing with excellent retention. Myriad bubbles ascend the glass. The nose features sweet malt, fairly subtle pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, and a whiff of tobacco. The first thing I taste, not surprisingly, is the pumpkin; and it is very sweet. There is also lots of spice: nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, and allspice. What surprises me is that there follows a cracker and caramel taste that has a spice cake-like quality. This is increasingly prevalent as the glass warms. This ale has a pleasantly creamy feel with moderate carbonation. The ABV is a deceptive 8.8% It doesn't drink that high. Overall, this is an excellent pumpkin ale that grew on me as I sipped it. It has unexpected complexity of taste and feel. I'm glad this ale is now distributed in New Jersey. It will be part of my autumn rotation.

Came in a tall glass a clear rich auburn color but really not much head to speak of,a thin soapy-like mass really.Big warming slightly spicy cinnamon in the nose along with a hint of vanilla, slightly floral and just well rounded.Cinnamon and nutmeg give off a slightly spicy opening to the palate, some graham cracker and vanilla combine with a hefty alcohol presence making a somewhat sweet finish.A fuller almost creamy feel adds to the beer style, one of the better pumpkin ales I have had in the last couple years. At least so far this year to be sure.

A: Pours a deep copper in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and slightly stronger than moderate mahogany colored highlights. The beer has a finger tall foamy tan head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of roasted pumpkin with some light to moderate pumpkin sweetness and moderate to strong aromas of pumpkin pie spices (cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and clove with a hint of ginger). Underneath this is a moderate aroma of toasted + caramel malts.

T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of toasted + caramel malts with slightly stronger than moderate flavors of roasted pumpkin all of which contribute a light to moderate amount of caramel + pumpkin sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of pumpkin pie spices (cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and clove with a hint of ginger) and a light presence of earthy hops. Light hint of bitterness from the hops + spices which fades quickly leaving a light lingering pumpkin + malt sweetness.

M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.

O: Very enjoyable with the stronger pumpkin flavors and the lighter pumpkin pie spices. Easy to drink and the perfect beer for the start of the NFL season.

This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a nice looking hazy brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute leaving some slight lacing sliding into the beer. The smell had a really maple-ly sweet maltiness running over top of some bready and spiced pumpkin notes. Light vanilla slightly runs in and out. The taste was mainly sweet through the maple and allowing a gentle pumpkin pie - esque vanilla to come through. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation hit my tongue nicely - good for the style and for me. Overall, I say this was a pretty good pumpkin ale with a nice dose of maple added.

A: The beer is hazy orange amber in color. It poured with wisps of white bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of pumpkin are present in the nose along with hints of spices—ginger seems to be the most prominent.
T: The taste follows the smell, having lots of flavors of pumpkins along with some hints of cinnamon and allspice.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has a lot more pumpkin flavors compared to other beers in the style and isn't dominated by aromas and flavors of spices. Any traces of alcohol are well hidden.
