So excited to finally try this one - thanks Marc! Served in a FFF tasting glass. The nose is cocoa with the faintest hint of spice kick on the backend. The palate is straight up Taza Stone Ground Chocolate (the smooth cocoa is identical, as is the spice-profile). The interplay of cocoa and spice works beautifully, but is a touch sweeter than I'd like (a little more bitterness would be better I feel). Outstanding nonetheless.

Pours a deep brown to almost jet black. A nice sizable frothy deep brown head. The nose is cinnamon up front followed by chocolate and a small bit of heat presumably from the chiles. The taste? It is decadent and layered with complexity. So much going on here! First you get a great deal of cinnamon almost too much, I knocked big bad Baptista for a overpowering cinnamon taste but Hunahpu's overpowering cinnamon quickly gives way to the many other flavors present unlike BBBAPTISTA. Rich creamy chocolate, roasted malts, Smooth silky vanilla, light coffee and yes those chiles all make bold appearances. It finishes with light heat from the chiles, a light caramel raisiny rum kick. Very smooth, rich and creamy mouthfeel. This beer is truly a thing of beauty! To say Hunahpu has a lot going on would be a understatement but the beauty of this stout is that each flavor holds its own a fits perfectly with the flow of this beer.

This is one of those bucket-list beers everyone ought to try, and I must thank my friend Ian for hooking me up with one bottle after his trip to Hunahpu Day trip.

This jawn pours heady and smells like Mexican chorizo, cinnamon and black olive puree plus teriyaki sauce. Looks amazing indeed, great head and retention.

The taste is all bitter chocolate and dessert flavors... good but not terribly enticing. I lost interest about halfway through the bottle, even though I was sharing with a friend.

Too sweet, too chocolaty, too chili-y... not my cup of (beer) tea.

A- Jet black, coco head
S- Chocolate, pepper, cinnamon
T- Tons of dark chocolate in the 17. Once you get used to that there is a nice spice note from the pepper and cinnamon, but not too much.
F - THICK
O- Like a dark chocolate milkshake
