A- Jet black, coco head
S- Chocolate, pepper, cinnamon
T- Tons of dark chocolate in the 17. Once you get used to that there is a nice spice note from the pepper and cinnamon, but not too much.
F - THICK
O- Like a dark chocolate milkshake

Had this in 2014 at GABF -- enjoyed it then and enjoy it know! Bottle poured into snifter. Dark rich black in color with little carbonation. Cinnamon, chocolate and spices are apparent. Full bodied, peppery, spicey notes balanced with chocolate (coco nibs). Keep bottling!

Enjoyed the vertical of all Huna through 2016 bottling at a share in Denver.

2014 was the hands down favorite... years before that were beginning to fade, while years after were hot and needed some time.

I have had different bottles at different times and Huna is a treat beer. While I could down a bottle of, say, a Barrel-Aged Abraxas in one setting, Huna tends to be overwhelming sweet to me. It's a great beer, find a recent bottle... give it about two years in a cellar... and share with friends.

Wonderfully dark brew, with a modest dark brown head, quickly fading to an oily sheen atop the brew.

The aroma is enticing: huge molasses and licorice notes, cleaving through robust char and strong earthy hops.

Flavor isn't quite as sweet as the nose implied, nor do I get half of the ingredients promised. There's a distinctly vegetal note likely from the chilies, but little-to-no heat. Vanilla and chocolate get lost in the overall mix, and the cinnamon is nowhere to be found.

Body is full, thick, and creamy.

It's quite muddled overall, but it's also very, very tasty. At the end of the day, it's a big, strong, roasty, and bitter imperial stout. If I'm in the mood for a beer that represents the base ingredients better, I'm favoring Bomb! every time, especially for the hype and rarity surrounding this beer. But if I happen to have a glass of this on hand? I won't be complaining.

Pours a thick dark black color with very little head, smells great chocolate fudge with vanilla, cinnamon cocoa nibs. Taste is very bitter with the chocolate fudge tasting like a dark bitter bakers chocolate , little bit of heat (pepper's) and cinnamon offset this . mouth feel is bitter with spices and adjuncts hard to detect. Very underwhelmed by this stout both in taste and texture , Prairie Clown Shoes & Stone are better , would not trade for it again considering what it goes for.

This is a complex beer. I get raisiny sweetness on the nose with a little vanilla. Taste- cinnamon and some chili pepper stand out with a bitter finish. I prefer a little sweeter but this is a legendary beer.

Really dont see the hype here. Compared to Mexican cake or abraxas this is slops. Very little spice on this at all. Decent stout body without alot of nice flavors to go with it. Flavor of the stout isnt even that nice, kind of bitter for my taste. Tasting this, i would no longer be interested in attending Hunapoo dau

Huna 2015 vintage vs Bitches' Bank 2016
L: Huna=BB. A beautiful black thing.
S: Huna=BB. Rich dark fruit (especially cherry jam) notes, coffee and just a touch of cinnamon.
T: Huna>BB. There's cinnamon, chili, chocolate, spice. None are overpowering.
F: Huna>BB. Thick, rich, velvety.
O: Huna>BB. Fantastic beer.

2015 bottle poured into a snifter

A: A beautiful rich black body with a dark mocha creamy looking head.

S: Deep rich fudge and roasty malts and a little cinnamon.

T: Lots of the chocolate and a ton of licorice

M: Absolutely perfect rich creamy viscous thick absolutely coats the tongue and lingers.

O: The nose on this beer and the mouthfeel are out of this world. The taste is an absolute disappointment no cinnamon, no peppers, no vanilla just tons of licorice from being aged and a lot of chocolate. Hell there isn't even any heat from the chillis. Would love to try this fresh.

2014 vintage, a bit underwhelming - faded cinnamon and chilis. Would like to try a fresher bottle, but doubt trade value is worth the hassle. I'll stick to Oro Negro and Xocoveza for my cinnamon spiced stouts.

Been wanting to try this beer for some time, it was good but not mind blowing. I had a 2016 and it was in the bottle for approximately a year, so some of the adjuncts have faded significantly. The beer has a wonderful mouth feel, butci had a hard time detecting the cinnamon and vanilla. Will definitely try to get my hands on a fresher bottle this year.

This is the 2016 vintage poured on 12/10/16. Thick mouthfeel. The smoked chilis add a depth of flavor that is really nice. I think that is what separates this from other mole beers.

Poured into a snifter. A rich dark brown color with a thick tan head. Nice retention. Big chocolate aroma with roasted malt, and coffee. Huge chocolately taste. Nice balance with roasted bread, coffee, and cherries. Vanilla intermingled throughout. Full-bodied and smooth -- just a world-class RIS. Great beer.

Cinnamon wasn't as prominent as I hoped it would be. Also didn't taste as complex when I compare it to other beers of a similar style. Very good but not as great as I had hoped.

I'm sad because I had wanted to try this for some time, but it was nasty. Best way I heard it described was that it tastes like molé and smoky, I will vouch for its uniqueness. It had a smokiness to it as well that I have yet to taste in any other beer, but it just didn't taste good to me. My favorite stouts are founders breakfast and evils biscotti Imperial stout in case that gives you a frame of reference. Still, I was grateful to get to finally try it.

Pours jet black with a thin dark brown-khaki head that dissipates quickly.
Smell is a tad sweet and a bit underwhelming.
The taste is phenomenal -burnt expresso, dark chocolate with a very mild sweetness, rich dark fruit notes followed by just a touch of pepper more sweet paprika than jalapeno.
Mouth is near instantly coated. With mild agitation turns to velvet.
Overall really fantastic stuff, worth the hype

two 3oz pours From 750ml bottle 2014 vintage.
At Zwanze Day 2016, Green Bench Brewery, St Petersburg, Fla. epic bottle share.
Finally got a change to try this. After hours of Cantillon and Saisons my pallet exploded with this. I knew it was one of the best flavored Stouts out there but wow it was even better then i ever imagined. Again probably helped by all the Sours i've been drinking all day. Come on CCB please brew more of this!

A 2016 bottle courtesy of @smanson56
A: Pours dark and thick with a finger's width of light brown head.
S: Cinnamon and cocoa
T: Plenty of bitter chocolate and toasty coffee. The cinamon hovers. In the background throughout. The chillin become more pronounced as it warms. There are hints of tobacco that seem to come and go. There is some vanilla but it gets displaced by the heat. There is a taste of prune throughout.
MF: thick and chewy. The cinamon and peppers leaves lingering burn. Tobacco tastes lingers as if one was smoking a fine cigar.
O: fantastic beer. A great toasty stout that has a plethora of flavors competing for your taste buds. So we'll done.

Pour is nearly jet black, viscosity off the charts. Very thick and oily. Hits my snifter with a small ring of khaki head, very little lacing. Smell is initially a very rich chocolate. As it warms, getting a burst of cinnamon and an interesting green apple aroma. Hints of raw pepper heat, raisins and other various dark fruit. Following the nose well, a creamy lacto decadent chocolate comes through with subtle hints of pepper and a touch a vanilla. Mouthfeel is super palate coating and thick. Sticks around for a good while.

Smell: lots of chocolate dark coffee vanilla cinamon green apple some dark fruit and a good amount of heat.
Taste: yeah upfront lots of dark chocolate and dark roast coffee middle of the mouth bitersweet chocolate vanilla cinamon green apple skin a hint of dark fruit finishes with some chille heat that sticks in the throat roast bitterness more dark chocolate and a slight hint of green pepper.
Feel: super thick and chewy it's a huge beer a definite siper.
Overall: this beer is a lot of dark chocolate and dark roasted coffee with just enough heat from the chillies. Best part of this beer is the mouthfeel it's as perfect as it gets for an imperial stout. This is a really complex beer. Every sip I'm tasting something new. This is a beer worth seeking out and trading for!

Don't fear this one - it's huge, but relatively gentle. Panda like. Wasn't as spicy as expecting. Didn't get an explosion of adjunct aromas either. They're well integrated into the fudgey body. Some spice, cinnamon, vanilla, cocoa. It's pretty sweet, but I didn't find it overly so (at least not in sample pours). A beautiful stout, and worth the hype, I suppose.

On tap at CBC 2016 - day 2. Dark chocolate, cocoa, cinnamon, caramel, molasses, a bit of coffee, tobacco, vanilla and spices. Extremely well balanced and complex.

Combination review of the 2015 and 2016 vintages. 2015 vintage was simply a better beer - smooth, well-integrated flavors with ample spiciness from both the chilis and cinnamon. 2016 was far less superior, hopefully it gets better with time.

L- Dark, thin tan head.

S- Cocoa, bit of cinnamon and vanilla. Solid aroma.

T- Similar to the nose. Not a lot of dominant flavors. Basically no pepper heat.

F- Unimpressive. Thin, almost watery. We also cracked a Darkness and a Dark Lord, and they both poured and tasted a lot thicker. Smooth though and a little sticky.

O- Disappointing. Decent flavor and a pleasant aroma, but I like my stouts a lot thicker. I'd buy it off the shelf, but it takes a lot more effort than that to get it.

2016 bottle poured black during a spiced stout share. The nose was mainly chocolate with some faint sweet vanilla. The body was very thing and felt like flat cola. Some cocoa, a little bit of sweetness and hardly any heat. Maybe we had a bad bottle but that was not a very good beer.
