i visited the brewery when i was in tampa about a year ago. i came for my favorite, jay alai, but was eager to try the beers they had that weren't available in my part of florida.

i got a flight of a few random beers i saw that seemed interesting, and i didn't expect this one to be the one that stood out, as i like stouts/brown ales/porters, but usually don't go too crazy over them because of how sweet they tend to be.

after drinking the mini serving of it that was in the flight, i enjoyed it so much this was the only one that i went to get more of. it's sweet, but absolutely delicious. it's been a while since i had it, but i was blown away by how they nailed the chocolately caramel coffee tase, but not making it nauseatingly sweet at all.

definitely a good beer to make great use of your tongue without overworking it.

L: Black with dark brown at the edges. The head is small and tan, poor retention. A thin ring remains. Very little to no lacing left.

S: Dark chocolate, cocoa powder, pumpernickel bread, toffee, burnt sugar.

T: Lots of dark chocolate and cocoa upfront, leading into toasted pumpernickel bread, burnt sugar, caramel, and toffee. Lightly nutty. Dry roasted peanuts. A hint of raisin. A hint of smoke. Finishes with earth and medium-roast sweetened coffee. Lightly sweet, and lightly bitter on the aftertaste.

F: Medium-light to medium, moderately carbonated, slight grainy creaminess from the oats.

O: One of the best American brown ales I've had. Complex yet simple, balanced, refined, and delicious.

Pours a tobacco brown color with a small khaki head. smell was toasted malts brown sugar and baked bread. Taste was 100% like the nose. Thinnish mouth feel with roasty finish. OK Brown Ale would never buy a sixer. Not sure what folks see in this.

Bought a six of these and drank them over the course of a month or so. The last few were better than the first few so I guess the flavor profile grew on me a bit. As in a "little bit". Too much like candy beer for my tastes and would likely not buy again. Similar to Rogue Nut Brown Ale

This beer pours a dark brown with a small head. The aroma is rich and nutty with a hint of smoke, with pecans, walnuts, chocolates, oatmeal, cinnamon, raisins. The flavor is wonderfully rich and smooth, with lots of roast nut and chocolate, as well as a hint of mild cinnamon. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with bright carbonation. Overall this is a really excellent example of a brown ale - rich without being sweet, wonderfully nutty, overall just a joy.

One of the best brown ales I have ever had. Maduro packs a plethora of flavor in at a drinkable 5.5% abv. Rich caramel and toffee sweetness with hints of expresso and milk chocolate finished with notes of roasted malt. This was an absolute joy. Beautiful in the glass and it's aroma blew me away. Texture and thickness are simply world class.

Clear brown colored ale with a medium sized tan colored head.

Smells strongly of patent malt and coffee. Chocolate and caramel are in this one too. Has that chocolate coffee thing going on.

Starts out mildly sweet with lots of Chocolate flavor. Coffee is a little more subtle than the scent. Not much bitterness at all.

Mouthfeel is good.

Overall it is just plain easy to dring. Tastes more than a little like a Milk Stout.

A tasty brown ale with hints of coffee, brown sugar, maple syrup and chocolate. I like to let it warm up a bit and let the darker notes spring forward more. As a light weight, this one's dangerously drinkable at 5 and a half.

Poured from 12oz can into glass. 'CANNED ON 6/12/18'.
Deep brown colored body, with brown highlights. Tan colored thick head. Spots and strings of lacing.
Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, and toffee. Dark chocolate is in the background and discerned with a deeper sniff.
Taste of roasted malt, with flavors of toffee, dark fruit, and slightly bitter coffee. Allowing the beer to warm brings out the chocolate.
Has a creamy, full mouth feel (is this from the oats?). Good carbonation.
Easy drinking brown, with an expected but complex set of flavors.
