The appearance was a nice brown color with a small white head that quickly dissipated and didn’t leave any lacing. The smell had a really nice roasty/nutty sweetness carrying through into a light milk chocolate. Light coffee and espresso does end up coming out eventually. The taste was sweet and roasty through all of the previously mentioned flavors. On the palate, this one sat about a medium in body with a slight sessionable aspect about it. I do have to say, that this has got to be one of the smoothest and silkiest Brown ales of just how it rolls so smoothly over my tongue. Overall, hot damn, if I could get this on a regular basis I would and you know this could be quite possibly the best beer I’ve had by Cigar City.

12oz can dated 2/0/17 poured into a hotel room water glass
A: Dark brown with a one-finger head
S: Dark malts, hints of cocoa and oatmeal
T: The cocoa is quite pronounced here, a malty midpalate and cocoa/oatmeal on the finish
M: Medium-bodied
O: This is a solid brown ale with a malt bill that makes for tasty flavors

Bought while on vacation. The beer is dark black in appearance with a thick, thin brown head and lacing in the sides. Aromas include cocoa cream smell with a little roadty hint. Taste is very attractive with an almost milk chocolate and malt mixture that is airy and fluffy. The mouthfeel is very creamy, helping to make the beer like an enjoyable dessert. Overall, excellent appearance, taste, and mouthfeel.

2/2/17 canning date

A: Dark brown pour with a small frothy head. No lacing and little head retention.

S: Pretty subtle aroma, some caramel and toast for the most part.

T: Ah yeah. Lots of caramel initially with a touch of coffee. Big toffee flavor in there, I was not expecting that. Nutty to boot, really nice. Hints of ganache.

M: Fairly light, typical of the style and ABV.

O: One helluva brown ale. Great flavor complexity with big bold tastes. One of the best I've had, impressive!
