Poured from 12oz can into glass. Canning date is stamped as '10/19/18'.
Amber brown colored body, with mahogany brown and garnet red back lit highlights. The one finger head is an off white color. Leaves spots and sheets of lacing.
Aroma of big espresso coffee smell.
Taste is full of dark espresso coffee flavor, with additions of caramel/toffee, nuttiness, and dark fruit.
Medium mouth feel. Good carbonation.
Heavy coffee/espresso expressed beer. Still is clearly a beer but very enjoyable with the dominance of the espresso.

Canned 9/1/18, Reviewed 11/3/18

Look- pours dark walnut brown w/a tan head that settles quickly to a thin layer

Smell- sweetened coffee, chocolate, a little roastiness, vanilla

Taste- follows the nose with milk chocolate, sweetened coffee and a nice roasty note in the background to balance the sweetness a bit

Feel- medium-bodied and creamy with moderate carbonation; finish is sweet and lingers for a bit

Overall- really nice brown ale that tastes a lot like a slightly sweet glass of iced coffee

12oz can poured into a globe.

A: In shade it is he darkest brown gets before becoming black. A beige head settles after a short time. Spotty lacing.

S: Awesome espresso aroma- deep, nutty, slightly smokey. The beer itself calls to mind aromas of caramel, hazelnut, and toffee. Rich cocoa and a creamy backing. Very enticing nose.

T: Follows the nose. Caramel and toffee malt flavors are bolstered by supporting milk chocolate, sugary lactose, hazelnut, and a great coffee roast coming from the additives. Slightly smokey. Finishes with lingering milk chocolate and mild coffee roast.

M: Medium-thick body. Moderate sense of weight. Creamy and easy texture with a bit of chewiness. Deeply scrubbing carbonation.

O: A well-executed brew with a great coffee addition and good balance between all the additives. This was really a pleasure to dink. Happy to see brown ales getting some attention again!

Pours a rich mahogany brown that sits dark in the glass and has a reddish hue. Three fingers of light brown foam head that’s far too quick to dissipate, but leaves thick webbed lacing.

Medium roast coffee, cream, roasted malt, caramel and milk chocolate in the nose.

Brown bread, sugar, breakfast blend coffee and a little milk in the taste with a semi-dry finish.

Medium bodied with just a hint of creaminess and adequate carbonation.

The coffee flavors in this are nice and meld well with the brown ale style, and the sugary Cubano element is well-balanced to my taste, but for a self-described espresso beer, I would have expected the coffee to be bolder. Still enjoyable. 9/10/18 canned on date.

Classic optics with big, soapy head. The espresso is pretty mild on the nose - there is way more saccharine lactose aromas - and there isn’t much underneath that. Taste fares a little better - it recalls more of an espresso infusion than pure espresso, which is to say it misses the core of the flavor. The lactose adds a nice creaminess on the tongue. It is good, but lacks robustness.

Very nice brown ale from a solid brewery. Nice dark brown color with some mild head and a little spotty lingering lacing. Smells great, nice dark roast coffee, mocha chocolate and a little vanilla. Tastes similarly, along with some caramel, creaminess and some malt. Great balance, mild slightly creamy mouthfeel, good carbonation. Just a little thinner and less full than I was expecting.

Pours a dark brown with a half inch tan head that left very littleacing. Smells and tastes of espresso, caramel, nuttiness, chocolate and vanilla. On the light side of medium bodied, light carbonation, smooth mouth feel that gets a little watery as the beer warms with a slightly dry finish.

Dark brown color, medium body and medium light carbonation.
Aroma is exactly like a cup if espresso first. Followed by malt and what seems like vanilla a d chocolate.
Taste really follows the aroma, espresso backed up by some malt a d again what tastes like vanilla and chocolate
Very nice beer, well worth a try

L: Poured from a growler to a pint glass. Had a dark brown color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy, off white, fairly long-lasting head. Very good lacing.

S: A solid aroma of coffee, chocolate, malt, a nutty quality, vanilla, and some caramel.

T: Tasted of a good amount of malt (present throughout), a hint of vanilla, lots of coffee (not too much, though), a tinge of caramel, and some of the typical brown ale nuttiness. A subtle, easy to like flavor. The coffee adds a powerful dimension to the brown ale flavor, giving it quite a boost. Very sharp and likable.

F: A decent amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: A very solidly made brown ale. Certainly worth a try.

Looks opaque, deep mahogany with a tan head which recedes quickly. Smells like mild coffee ,some hops. Taste is delicious with a hint of nutty flavor, coffee, vanilla, some toasted notes. Feels well constructed, nice carbonation, not slick. Overall a really impressive brown ale. The coffee was not overpowering. I would recommend-

This beer is fabulous. I thought Founders Breakfast Stout was my favorite coffee beer but this is better. The coffee smell is rich and deep with inviting hints of sweet chocolate and vanilla. The taste is full and delicious. So much out out of a 5.5 abv. yb
