On tap poured into a pint glass. 3rd or 4th time having this offering.

Pours damn near black. Its a brown ale for sure but its not smuttynose old brown dog. Much darker

Only bad part of this beer. No scent whatsoever

Tastes just like an oatmeal raisin cookie with a thinner mouthfeel. The sugar really comes through as does the raisins. Even though this isnt billed as a dessert beer this is in the upper echelons with the southern tier blackwater series types of the world.

Mouthfeel is thin and taste lingers for a few seconds

Overall this is excellent. Cigar city makes some solid brews and this is one of their best. Highly recommended

On tap at the Mellow Mushroom in Greenville SC.
Black-brown body with a fine tan head.
Feel: Near full body but a bit too fizzy and light.
Oatmeal raisin cookies with hops -- this works better than you might think, especially if you like both of these.

From a can, pours very dark brown like a Coke (looks exactly like a Coke) with a 1 finger beige colored head that was full of bubbles, dissipating slowly and leaving decent foamy lacing. The bubbles even raced up the brew like a Coke.

Can says it's a brown ale brewed with raisins, cinnamon and lactose, but it does smell like an oatmeal raisin cookie. I get some cinnamon, bread crust, toffee and piney spices in addition to the oatmeal raisin cookie aroma.

Taste resembles an oatmeal raisin cookie, but seems almost fake and gimmicky. I like the cinnamon and syrup flavors, and the malts and caramel accents make it seam oaty, but there is something artificial tasting that makes it seem off. I salute Cigar City for the creativity and a solid attempt, but it's overall too sweet so I doubt I'd have it again.

Drank from the can so I gave it a 4. I smell vanilla on tip if a typical brown ale. Nice flavor, definitely taste the rasin as well as cinnamon. Light bodied. Overall a fun brown ale, glad I only bought a single.

I am to head over to Jeff Lebo's www.cansmartbeercans.com House of CANs tomorrow for an interview for an upcoming doCANmentary & so I am trying to review some additional CANs tonight for The CANQuest (tm) that I CAN take along for his CANlection.

From the CAN: "The addition of raisins, cinnamon and milk sugar to our full-bodied and chocolatey Brown Ale base created a unique beer that tastes exactly like it was pulled out of Grandma's oven."

It strikes me as rather interesting that the approved pic is for a bottle, but they have made the CANversion. I was beginning to feel fatigued so following the Crack! of the vent, I went with a slow, gentle Glug into the awaiting glass. No other effort was needed on my part as it quickly formed just better than two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, deep-tan/light-brown head with excellent retention. Color was Dark Brown to Very Dark Brown (SRM = > 27, < 34) with cola highlights visible at the edges. Nose was redolent with cinnamon and underlain with a milky sweetness that put me in mind of Chai Tea or horchata. Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium, about par for the course. The taste was quite pleasant, very evocative of oatmeal cookies with cinnamon, but the raisins were less prevalent than I would have preferred. It really reminded me of my standard breakfast of cinnamon raisin oatmeal, but I just felt like the raisin flavor could have been a bit more assertive. It is a nit-picky point, though. Finish was semi-sweet, which was surprising since the addition of spices (cinnamon) usually results in a dryness. This was a very pleasant drink, although one would probably be enough. YMMV.

I'm really excited for this. Have wanted to try it for a while now. Pouring from a 12 oz. can into a pint glass. Here we go. Pours out a cola color brown and forms in the glass to be rather dark brown with some lighter highlights. No crown really forms, just an outer ring of light tan. The smell is heavy of oats. Then come notes of a sweetness like lactose and some chocolately notes. Not really detecting any cinnamon or raisins. And now for the taste. It brings the heavy oat presence just like the nose and has a slight spice from the cinnamon. The chocolate is in there too and the raisins might be there just in the form of some slight dark fruit notes but not really prominent enough to form a "raisin" identification. The mouthfeel stays wet on your lips while finishing dry. Very slight cinnamon kick is there and I love how the oatmeal feel stays around to linger in the mouth. Overall, this was a solid brown ale that I'm happy I got to try. I do wish there was more raisin and cinnamon to actually bring in the nature of this beer. They are in there just not as anticipated. I would still happily drink another.

Pours a dark brown color with a modest creamy head that quickly dissipates.
As the name suggests, the aroma evokes an oatmeal raisin cookie, along with cinnamon like spices. The malt base smells nutty and biscuity.
Although the taste has flavors of an oatmeal raisin cookie, I like that the sweetness is subdued and give ways to other flavors. In particular, the spices add a great touch of balance, along with a very restrained hops bitterness. The finish evokes a strong taste of cinnamon.
Medium bodied and very smooth. The carbonation is very gentle.
A delightful brown ale, one of the best I’ve had.

12 oz can dated 4/1/18 poured into nonic pint glass.

Chocolatey brown color with a thick beige ring of head leaving lacing where it recedes.

Aromas of brown malts, oats, with faint hints of raisin, hot cookie, cocoa, and brown sugar.

Flavor is clean and carbonated, not many off flavors. Great! It's straight brown ale all the way home, but has slight suggestions of raisin, cinnamon, and cocoa.

Feel is crisp, has a certain slickness, and moderate to high carbonation. Very faint coffee dryness but compliments rather than takes over.

Overall, a very solid brown ale, I'm glad I bought a couple 4 packs. Good stuff.

Dark brown, quickly fading head with nice lacing.
Smells of oatmeal and malt, light spicy cinnamon.
Taste is typical for a brown ale plus oatmeal and cinnamon, not tasting raisin at all.
Medium texture, lighter at the finish.
Enjoyed this ale while on vacation in Naples, Fla.
It is not to hoppy which must be why it is classified as a English brown---I agree.
I am a brown ale fan and if this was available in "Rhody" it would be a weekly go-to.
